mollycoddle They did impeach Paxton. The person in charge, Patrick, got a 3 million dollar donation from Paxtonās PAC right before proceedings began. They rallied the troops and let him off and in turn the TX GOP has been on a tear going after those who dared to vote to impeach him. Things in TX are very bleak. I wish more people paid attention because we are the practice for what they intend to do nationally.

Thatās what I thought, but there is so much happening that itās hard to remember what has happened in other states. Thanks! I live in Ohio, which is bleak enough, but maybe not Texas bleak. Although there is a kerfluffle here about Biden being on the ballot. It is, as usual, a mess. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2024/05/30/ohio-gop-again-attempts-to-go-around-voters-this-time-on-redistricting-and-minimum-wage/Sigh. It never ends with these people.

I am a single issue voter this November - SCOTUS I canāt afford any further Trump picks to the Supreme Court. And the next president will probably get to pick 2 maybe 3 more justices. Iām not a single issue voter, but SCOTUS is right up there with my biggest concerns. We need to keep the Senate and win the House. Schumer is a nice guy, but we need someone tougher. I think that Klobuchar would be a good leader, because the woman is no pushover. We need to end tenure for the SC and pass an ethics code for them with teeth. Anyhow, with a tougher leader and a majority, Dems could set some boundaries for the SC. Alitoās wife-who seems excitable-what was that spitting incident about? š³-has made him look bad. Maybe I should say that she has made him look worse. The fact that neither of the Alitos seem to understand how bad this looked is telling. Anyhow, personally I would like an expanded SC; itās been done before-but in the absence of that, I would be happy with ending tenure and passing an ethics code. The SC has repeatedly shown that it will not police itself. But we need a leader who is more like Pelosi than Schumer to do it. Iām not a Schumer lover, but he hasnāt had a margin big enough to do sweeping things. Itās not easy to pass things with 1-2 seat majority especially when during the first 2 years he had several ill senators. And then the house was lost . But yes, need someone with teeth to get things done

Well, of course, if you ask an average somebody who should make the rules, he'll say, "I should!" Those who think beyond protecting their own sacred cows to consider the good of everybody are more likely to say, "The most qualified." Religion only qualifies one for the hierarchy of his religion. Having a penis only qualifies one to pee standing up and make sperm.

Time for the grownups to address this mess! Their next letter should point out that they control his budget in its entirety, followed by the phrase, "Despite its being couched in pleasant language, do not mistake this summoning for a social invitation." The arrogance is ridiculous. SCOTUS works for us, but seem to have gotten the idea that rules and conventions mean nothing. Where do you suppose they got that notion?

College Republicans are NOT all in maga... Good way for the GOP to lose their youth!!! x.com/AuronMacintyre/status/1796526510641401870*** A group of college Republicans who suggested the criminal justice system should be respected were swiftly slapped down by MAGA politicians and pundits who rushed to pledge allegiance to former President Donald Trump, a newly convicted felon. College Republicans delivered on X Thursday a tempered response to the New York City jury that found Trump guilty of falsifying business records to conceal hush money paid ahead of the 2016 presidential election. *** "Today's convictions are the result of a politically motivated prosecution, but a verdict was handed down by jurors whose decisions were made in accordance with our criminal justice system," the group wrote. "As such, the outcome of this trial should be respected."This suggestion outraged Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) who was quick to tell the young conservatives that Trump's conviction threw into question the entire criminal justice system. www.rawstory.com/college-republicans-trump/

some folks had a message for trump last night. Wish they'd have done that when he announced he was running to stay out of....I mean, for the presidency.
