In a statement, Biden noted that no one can any longer deny the impacts and staggering costs of climate change as the nation confronts historic floods, droughts, and hurricanes.

“Deforestation, nature loss, toxic chemicals, and plastic pollution also continue to threaten our air, lands, and waters, endangering our health, other species, and ecosystems,” he said. He noted the administration’s efforts to build a clean energy economy, providing well-paid union jobs as workers install solar panels, service wind turbines, cap old oil wells, manufacture electric vehicles, and so on, while also curbing air pollution from power plants and lead poisoning from old pipes, the burden of which historically has fallen on marginalized communities.

Biden noted that he brought the U.S. back into the Paris Climate Accord Trump pulled out of, is on track to conserve more lands and waters than any president before him, and has worked with the international community to slash methane emissions and restore lost forests.

And yet there is much more to be done, he said. He encouraged “all Americans to reflect on the need to protect our precious planet; to heed the call to combat our climate and biodiversity crises while growing the economy; and to keep working for a healthier, safer, more equitable future for all.”

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), endorsed by Donald Trump, explained that he was supporting Speaker Mike Johnson's (R-LA) ouster because the lawmaker had betrayed Republicans' principles on a foreign surveillance law.

On Monday, Massie told podcast host Charlie Kirk that Johnson had orchestrated a "brainwashing session" in the form of a classified briefing to push through the reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

"It was like a brainwashing session," Massie asserted. "And here's the thing, Charlie, when you go into a [sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF)], remember most congressmen are used to having two things with them that allow them to verify something if they're being told a lie.

"Number one, they usually have their smartphone with them. And their staff," he continued. "Those two things you are deprived of.

Missouri also has such crappy teacher pay that teachers are leaving in droves. In some places, like the very rural mid-Missouri area where my sister and mom live and work in schools, they are literally hiring, as teachers, those who aren't officially even teachers yet because they are so desperate for them. The district my mom and sister live in (my mom works in that district as a para, my sister works in a different nearby district as a reading teacher), there is a chance they will be closing the entire district. Not just a school or two, but the whole district, because of financial reasons. I really hate this state, but I am too old to move anywhere, plus 3 of my 4 kids live here and I don't want to leave them at this point in life. 

Meanwhile in Tennessee, Republicans just voted to arm teachers:

Do not trust a Republican, specifically... Wishy washy at best!
First she endorsed and tauted the old old Arizona abortion law.
Second she has decided the Democrats who say they will not enforce it, are wrong.
Third back to backing the old law.. she will say what she thinks you want to hear before the election. After she will go back to the old law...
They will all do this, just to get elected!!!


Arizona Senate hopeful Kari Lake appears to have changed her position on the state's Civil War era total abortion ban — again.

That was already a major reversal from statements she made prior to the judges' decision, when she called the ban "a great law" and expressed the hope it would become enforceable.

But now she appears to have reversed herself yet again in an interview with The Idaho Dispatch, and is attacking Democratic Party leaders in her state for not enforcing the law.

“The Arizona Supreme Court said this is the law of Arizona. But unfortunately, the people running our state have said we’re not going to enforce it,” she said in the interview, which came as she delivered a keynote address to the Bonneville County Republican Party.

Nah, make up isn’t the reason to not vote for Trump. I don’t care if my president sees a reason to wears make up. Let’s not loose sight of the real difference between TFG and other presidents - TFG is for TFG & grifting the US for money. TFG wouldn’t know sacrifice for country if it bit him in his orange face. Washington wore powder make up & a wig but he was nothing like TFG.

I would however hope that my president had enough mental capability left when elected to learn blending 😉

Back to the news. She might face charges but I don't think anything will come of it. We're are a true red state. A couple dots of blue here and there. It will take quite a bit to get anything to stick. Just like you said, IOKIYAR.

This report came out last week, maybe Thursday or Friday. She, or her PR people, were very quick to do some really dumb video of the lectern with the phrase "come take it" or along those lines. It is also a somewhat ambiguous report. Maybe they did a deeper dive into it. I can only cross my fingers and hope.

Former GOP lawmaker and current Trump Media & Technology Group CEO, Devin Nunes, is turning to his former colleagues on Capitol Hill to help fight against Wall Street traders dealing in the company’s stock who he says are participating in “anomalous trading” — a practice in which they bet on the stock declining.

In a letter to his former colleagues, Nunes warned that there are "strong indications of unlawful manipulation of DJT stock." As Politico points out, the letter was addressed to House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH), Financial Services Chair Patrick McHenry (R-NC), Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-MO) and Oversight and Reform Chair James Comer (R-KY).

In his letter, Nunes called on lawmakers to investigate the trading of the stock and “whether any laws including RICO statutes and tax evasion laws were violated, so that the perpetrators of any illegal activity can be held to account.”

As Politico points out, Nunes is worried about an illegal type of short-selling activity known as “naked short selling.”
