This from Jonathan Turley⊠âU.S. District Judge William Henry Pauley III slammed Michael Cohen today in saying that he has clearly committed "perjury." The court noted that there are "two possibilities: one, Cohen committed perjury when he pleaded guilty before Judge Pauley or, two, Cohen committed perjury in his October 2023 testimony. Either way, it is perverse to cite the testimony, as Schwartz did, as evidence of Cohenâs âcommitment to upholding the law.ââ Prompted this response from Marc EliasâŠ. âJudge Pauley died in 2021. So, if he slammed anyone in court today that would be really big news.â x.com/marceelias/status/1770577808739258449?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Michael Cohen, the lead prosecution witness in Donald Trump's upcoming criminal hush money trial, was publicly chastised Wednesday over accusations of perjury in a motion that could prove "pure gold" for the former president's legal team, according to a new analysis of recent court filings. New York federal Judge Jesse Furman Wednesday denied Cohen's request for an early end to his "supervised release" following his prison term on tax evasion charges, and cited his recent testimony in Trump's civil fraud trial to explain why."It is perverse to cite the testimony... as evidence of Cohenâs 'commitment to upholding the law,'" writes Furman. "At a minimum, Cohenâs ongoing and escalating efforts to walk away from his prior acceptance of responsibility for his crimes are manifest evidence of the ongoing need for specific deterrence."The testimony in question saw Cohen fielding character attacks in October from Trump's attorney Alina Habba, who grilled the former fixer on his 2018 guilty plea in U.S. District Judge William Henry Pauley's courtroom. âDid you lie to Judge Pauley when you said that you were guilty of the counts that you said under oath that you were guilty of?" Habba asked. "Did you lie to Judge Pauley?" âYes,â Cohen replied. Furman wrote of Cohen's testimony: âIt gives rise to two possibilities: one, Cohen committed perjury when he pleaded guilty before Judge Pauley or, two, Cohen committed perjury in his October 2023 testimony." In the latter case, Justice Arthur Engoron ruled Cohen's testimony was credible before issuing his $464 million ruling for civil fraud liability against Trump. In the former case, Cohen has completed his prison sentence and, after Furman's ruling, must continue to check in with a federal probation officer until November 2024. While this new ruling may appear a simple inconvenience, the Daily Beast noted Wednesday that Cohen is slated to return to court as a witness in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's criminal case against Trump. Bragg has accused Trump of falsifying business records to cover up $130,000 in cash channeled to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential elections. Cohen is expected to testify about $420,000 he received as reimbursement for handling the hand-over. "[The ruling] calls into question the trustworthiness of the man who will serve as the Manhattan District Attorneyâs lead witness just weeks before the former president faces his first ever criminal trial in New York City," writes Jose Pagliery. "Furmanâs timing is pure gold for Trumpâs legal team, which is sure to employ the federal judgeâs order at the former presidentâs upcoming trial...as an attempt to undermine Cohenâs reliability as a witness in front of jurors."In a statement shared with Raw Story, Cohenâs defense attorney E. Danya Perry highlighted the positive â noting Furman opted not to pose sanctions over Artificial Intelligence-generated cases mistakenly cited in court records â and rebutted the negative. "That characterization, although not a judicial determination, is both factually inaccurate and legally incorrect," Perry argued. "Judge Furman did not have a front seat to the testimony at the lengthy trial before Judge Engoron, who emphatically declared that 'Michael Cohen told the truth.'" www.rawstory.com/michael-cohen-trump-2667559743/

Although it might have been interesting.... Jared Kushner thinks it's a good idea to clear the water front in Gaza by moving out all the people there and send them away... Jared Kushner was blasted Tuesday for saying that Gaza's "waterfront property could be very valuable," while suggesting Israel transport Palestinian civilians out of the Gaza Strip and move them into the Negev desert while the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) "cleans up" the Hamas-controlled region. Donald Trump's son-in-law's comments had been made during an interview at Harvard University. "Gazaâs waterfront property could be very valuable ⊠if people would focus on building up livelihoods,â Kushner told Harvardâs Middle East Initiative faculty chair, Prof Tarek Masoud, in remarks first reported by The Guardian. âI do think, right now, opening up the Negev, creating a secure area there, moving the civilians out, and then going in and finishing the job would be the right move,â Kushner said, adding that he hasn't spoken to the Israeli government about the potential plan. âIâm sitting in Miami Beach right now,â Kushner said. âAnd Iâm looking at the situation and Iâm thinking: what would I do if I was there?â *** "Itâs a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but from Israelâs perspective I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,â Kushner said. âBut I donât think that Israel has stated that they donât want the people to move back there afterwards.â Kushner, who served as a senior foreign policy adviser in Trump's administration, said that if he were in charge of Israel, he would make a greater effort to move civilians out of the southern city of Rafah, where Israel is expected to launch a ground operation. âBut in addition to that, I would just bulldoze something in the Negev, I would try to move people in there,â he said. âI think thatâs a better option, so you can go [into Gaza] and finish the job.â âI do think right now opening up the Negev, creating a secure area there, moving the civilians out, and then going in and finishing the job would be the right move," he said. âI am not sure there is much left of Gaza at this point," he said. "If you think about even the construct, Gaza was not really a historical precedent. It was the result of a war. You had tribes in different places and then Gaza became a thing. Egypt used to run it and then over time different governments came in.â His comments were immediately criticized online. Never one to miss the opportunity to make a quick buck. Off someone's misery," wrote X user Jerrymberger. And DonnaYoungDC wrote, "My god. Children are being slaughtered and thousands are starving to death but Jared Kushner's first thought is, hey, look at that valuable waterfront property just waiting to be exploited. What a scumbag." www.rawstory.com/jared-kushner-gaza/Unbelievable just wtf unbelievable. Always thinking of a way to make a buck.

Grassley speaks on impeachment.. The House Republicans' impeachment inquiry looking into potentially bringing charges against President Joe Biden just got some harsh criticism from top Senate Republican Chuck Grassley. *** Now, it appears that Grassley might be losing his passion for the impeachment project that his House colleagues are championing. âI think I got a pretty good reputation for oversight here in the Senate. And the HouseâŠI just can't follow it, you know?" Grassley said, according to Bobic on Wednesday. www.rawstory.com/grassley-slams-biden-impeachment-cant-follow-it/

The Republicans in their message on why one should vote for them instead of another 4 years of President Biden ask if people are better off 4 years ago than they are today.
Problem is the Republicans have forgotten what it was like 4 years ago or they are hoping potential voters have.
On March 19, 2020 the State of California shut down because of the virus trump kept saying wasnât that big of a deal. It was going away. The Bay Area shut down a few days before that. After CA shut down other states, mostly blue, did the same while trump kept insisting the virus was going away and he wanted everything opened by Easter so people could go to church.
So where a President should have made this a national rally round the flag situation he let every state do their thing. We will never know the number of the over 1,000,000 Americans that died would still be alive today if the response had been a national one instead of every state for themselves.
So when the Republicans ask are we better off today then we were 4 years ago the Democrats should remind people that yeah we are better off today then we were 4 years ago. And 4 years ago and the months that followed may not been as bad as they were if we actually had a real leader in The White House instead of the idiot that was there.

The problem with the comparison of 4 years ago vs now is that they have more up their sleeves. The plan is to fear monger us to vote against Biden. Thereâs various ways & stimuli to cattle prod us into a fearful state on multiple fronts.
Hereâs one front: Youâve heard Trump say that without him the stock market will crash. Thats not him speaking, thatâs his script. Itâs the plutocracy talking.
The billionaires that pull his strings are hoping to short the market by pulling their money out. Taking the ball and going home. Making us fearful enough to run to vote for Trump to âsaveâ the market.
This *is* already a civil war we all just havenât realized where the battlefields are yet.

The media sucks on their reporting. How come there was minimal reporting on another dow high? I agree that the media sucks on their reporting. I keep getting these news pings about how Biden is in trouble, yada yada yada and nothing about how much better things are overall in terms of things like the projection that interest rates will be coming down, the stock market is again setting record highs, unemployment is at record lows, income for average people is going up, inflation is coming down. All these polls they keep yapping about mean nothing to me because if the average American voter is anything like me at all, they are also sick to death of the damn pollsters! I swear, I must delete at least a dozen or more texts a day asking me to please respond to this poll or that poll, all wanting to know how I feel about Biden and his policies, etc. I feel just fine about Biden and think that for the shitshow he was handed, he did a great job. But Iâm also not going to respond to any poll, because I know the minute I do Iâm going to be hit with another fifty of them! Thanks, but no thanks. Ainât nobody got time for that. Iâm too busy living my best life, raising my kid and working my butt off right now to be bothered with all of these nonsense polls, and Iâd be willing to bet that a good chunk of my 50-something year old peers feel the same way. So of course their poll results are going to skew a particular way that isnât based on anything realistic.

Kushner, who served as a senior foreign policy adviser in Trump's administration, They didn't mention that he served in that capacity without any qualifications. All these polls they keep yapping about mean nothing to me Polls mean very little, period. Think about how they do it--they call people on landlines. During the day, for the most part. So, they're only getting elderly and/or unemployed respondents. Much also relies on how the question is phrased. Then, it depends who's paying them for the data--you can spin data to reflect almost anything.

Thinking Schiff may have a really good short to replace Feinstein as a Senator. Gravey seems to have some past due tax issues. Steve Garvey, the celebrity candidate angling to fill the late Sen. Diane Feinstein's seat, is deep in the hole with state and federal taxes. Garvey, a Los Angeles Dodger and San Diego Padres great, owes at least $350,000 and as much as $750,000 in back taxes dating over a decade ago, according to his February financial disclosure statement listing two estimated six-figure amounts and first reported by The Sacramento Bee. *** When approached by The Sacramento Bee with questions about the taxes owed, the Garvey campaign refused to comment. The specifics of the statement filed with the Senate Office of Public Records in February show Garvey racking up between $250,001 and $500,000 in federal tax liability in 2011. As far as California taxes, the filing suggests a range from $100,001 to $250,000 also from 2011. The statement claims Garvey owes 8% interest that's incurred on both balances. The outlet notes that Garvey suffered some financial pitfalls in the past, including being named in several state and federal tax liens. It's unclear if Garvey is squared away with those or if they remain outstanding. www.rawstory.com/garvey-taxes-owed/
