Saw a Cars tribute band last night, which was a lot of fun, but also got me thinking of my upcoming concerts planned.
First is Rickie Lee Jones in May, then Sarah McLaughlin in June, then the Outlaw Festival with Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss. I've seen Willie and Dylan before--mainly excited about seeing Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Then The Pretenders at Tanglewood in July (saw in their hay day before Jimmy Scott and Pete Farndon killed themselves with drugs.) And finally ELO in September.
I know Mark Knopfler released a new album recently so if he tours to support it, I'll be there.

Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, and Uncle Kracker together with someone else whose name I did not recognize in June. May be forced to see Dave Matthews with the family , also in June, but I think I will volunteer to babysit for that one.

I saw the Eagles/Steely Dan and Bob Dylan in March. Dylan was a giant disappointment. Rolling Stones coming up in June.
Last year I saw Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty and the Beach Boys. Unfortunately a lot of the people/groups I really liked aren't around or aren't touring anymore.

Wow, peano, that's a lot of big name acts! How fun! None of you will know any of the Aussie artists I've seen / will be seeing: We saw CW Stoneking a couple of weeks ago, we're seeing Ash Grunwald on Thursday, and then Dan Sultan with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in July. Last week I tried to get tickets for US singer Chris Stapleton for DSO and his mate. It was a presale, and I logged on using three different devices, and by the time I finally got through half an hour later, the only tickets left were $290-$400. Forget that!

We are seeing Zack Bryan in May, George Strait in June and Jelly Roll in July. Nothing planned past July but I am sure something will come up.
Edit: forgot Journey/ Def Leopard/Steve Miller Band in August.

So far. AJR in July and Green Day in September.
Twenty one Pilots, but I can’t remember when.
Hope to add more.
Imagine Dragons has a new album, so they should be touring.
We would have liked to do All Time Low, but my kids refuse to do standing room shows.

Hozier in early May. We’ll see what else comes up. Ooh, he's playing four dates (two already sold out) at one of my favorite venues (Forest Hills Stadium in NY). Might have to look into that.

Yeah, we overpaid for GA tickets on the secondary market because it’s completely sold out, but I think it will be worth it.

They have this attitude that chairs are for old people and I'm like "yeah, I'm old!"

We're going to Jazzfest in New Orleans. The Rolling Stones are playing and we're also excited to see Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Hozier, The Killers, Foo Fighters, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and Widespread Panic. Chris Stapleton, The Wallflowers, Vampire Weekend, Greta Van Fleet, The Revivalists, The Beach Boys, Fantasia, Heart, Joe Bonamassa, Samantha Fish and dozens of other acts are also there. We love New Orleans jazz, Latin music, and all kinds of other music that we hear there.

They have this attitude that chairs are for old people and I'm like "yeah, I'm old!" Seriously. A lot of the smaller venues we like are SRO no matter what, and over the past few years it's getting more difficult to enjoy them. Besides the standing, I hate the press of strangers all around me, and I'm short, so I often have difficulty seeing. I did see All Time Low last year in an SRO venue and I got the strong impressions that they don't care for playing the smaller venues since they're doing stadiums in other areas. They almost had an attitude about it.

We stand during all the concerts (and have floor seats for all the concerts I mentioned, just not pit tickets), but my kids hate it when there isn’t assigned space. If it’s just a big floor and everyone is bunched together - they’re out. That means we can’t see a lot of smaller bands who aren’t in stadium/arena venues.

Duran Duran is playing at Winstar casino next month but it's on a Sunday night and an hour and a half away and no one wants to go with me. I did see a Duran Duran cover band last year and they were really good. Lots of good cover bands come through the Dallas area.

We took our 10 year old son to see IVE a few weeks ago for his first concert. I’m planning to see Pink in the fall. It’ll be my first time seeing Pink.

Skillet
We wanted to go to the Rolling Stones concert but I refuse to pay those prices. It will be on tv in a couple of years. Best seat in the house is my couch 😀

There is a small, local venue (400 seats) where we saw Hot Club of Cowtown/Tyler Hilton Saturday night, Jontavious Willis next Saturday and Time for Three the following week.
Joe Bonamassa in Springfield MO in November. We didn't see him last year as we thought the tickets were pricey so I splurged. Shhh, don't tell DH.
