Good morning! Can't believe it is May already.
I am still recovering from hand surgery so all my crochet has been put on hold. I hope to get back some crochet ability by the end of the month because all this sitting doing nothing is driving me insane. I swear when I am done I'm going to need to totally detox from my phone because the amount of time I have spent scrolling makes me feel gross. But other than reading, I'm quite limited in what I am able to do. When I do get back to crochet, I'll pick up with my Christmas ornaments and my green shawl.
I am still working on the camper too. We are leaving on May 11th for our trip to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. So I need to get the camper at least functional for the trip. The renovations will not be done, our target is our weekend getaway in August as far as completion actually goes. I am hoping I have enough use of my hand next week that I can sew curtains. We don't need everyone able to look in our windows. I did buy curtains though and I'll have to alter the sizes and such so hopefully the sewing won't be too bad. But when I priced fabric and backing (for blackout curtains), the price was higher than just buying white blackout curtains. They just won't fit as is. So I'll be sewing them to the specs of the camper windows. Hopefully this saves me some time. I am also hoping this weekend I can paint the bathroom. Jeremy fucked around with renovation stuff in there so I did not have time to do so before my surgery. I really do not want him to paint though as he does a terrible job. Good news is the hand that had surgery is not my dominant one. So I should be able to hold a brush and paint even if my bad hand feels like shit. So that's my weekend plan.
How is everyone else doing? What's everyone up to? Any May goals for anyone?

Oh goodness! I missed that you were having hand surgery - sending all the healing vibes I'm on repeat 3 of my HOS Thingie - things are looking great. I'm hoping to do 6 repeats with the 5 bonus mandala bundles I have from Lion - we shall see! Next project will be the sunflower ones for my girls. Gaming competes with my crochet time - I play Disney Dreamlight Valley and a new update is out today yay! But I'm away at a styled shoot all day so I won't be doing anything craft/gaming related at all Have a great day everybody!

I completely missed the craft thread in April, due to family vacation and not getting much done due to that and other minor life annoyances. I am hoping to get back into the swing this month, probably after this coming weekend, where I will be tied up at church with First Communion for most of the time.
I have a request for a cardigan 'just like this one' - said by Miss S as she used mine as a cover during a rain shower in Sydney, and I will naturally make something for little Miss L as well. They both loved the doll sweaters I made to match their sweaters, so there is a chance of more of those to come as well. And I want to make a summer top or two for myself.

I hope your hand heals fast, jeremysgirl.
We have a room off our front entryway. It's fully open and has 2 very large windows, so lots of light. It's been our TV room since we moved in.
Over the last couple of weeks, I changed things out and it's now my new sewing room. I love it! I kept a recliner in there for doing hand binding or crochet, and a smaller TV for classes or tutorials. I've enjoyed being back on the main floor instead of in the basement (even though it's bright there, being a walk out) and fully finished.
I did keep some stuff in my office in bins, as I didn't want to clutter up my beautiful craft room.
As to what I've been doing. I have the baby quilt back from the long armer. Now I have to bind the thing. My WIP list is:
1. Finish the baby quilt 2. Borders on the Tradewinds quilt (then long arming and binding) 3. Sew the rows together on the 42 week mystery quilt I did last year 4. Sew the blocks together on my son's red/black/gray quilt 5. Cut the strips for a log cabin quilt I signed up for

quiltz - All the quilts are stunning, but I especially love the 3D effect on the first one.

Sorry, I've not said hello yet. I hardly did anything crafty last month. I was concentrating on going to see family for a few days - which was lovely and even more lovely to have been told my great niece is expecting in November. I hope to make a small blanket for her which I will start shortly. Two days ago I picked up some yarn from a drawer, and a hook to make this blanket. I bought the yarn a while ago to make a patchwork long cardigan but I've not been feeling it and think the yarn is better suited to this, as it's more rustic. I've done a few rows and I'm feeling happier with it so I shall plod on.

Nanner all that just for May? You are ambitious. I know I won't get it all done. I just need to see it, and I will probably get 2 done (the baby quilt because I have to, and one other).

I'm trying to find a crochet pattern that is pretty simple for making placemats for my parents new home. I just can't find one I like. I'm trying to get in a lot of crochet before the end of the month when I have breast reconstruction done. I had a double mastectomy in December so I feel like this will be a step closer to being done with breast cancer.

Have you looked on Ravelry akkaren? There are 58 pages there; I've spotted a mosaic one I'd like to do! Best wishes with your reconstruction, you'll be ready to turn the page now.

I’m really liking how the blanket is turning out. I love the colours. I was expecting it to twist and it is a little but as the one on the pattern has too, I’m ok with that. I’m glad I swopped to it from the patchwork cardigan. The size of the squares and the length of the color changes in the yarn don’t suit each other in my opinion. This isn’t how they’d be made up but the overall look is too dark to my mind.

Here are a couple of quilts I made recently. The small one was made with a jelly roll and was a baby shower gift. I machine quilted it myself. The other one is flannel and I bought it as a kit from a garage sale for only $20! I will machine quilt that one too at some point.

Hello lovely crafty peas, it's shot round to May this year! I'm knitting some bed socks for next Winter, I'm hoping to get three pairs done this year.
May is a difficult month for me, it's the anniversary of my mum's death and this year we've also had to contend with my husband being made redundant, his family having health issues, our house needing repairs. It's feeling a bit endless atm, knitting has kept me sane (ish!) and it's always lovely to see what other people are working on so thank you for sharing everyone.

lainey - big hugs to you. May is also when I lost my mum - her anniversary is today - and also the month I was diagnosed with breast cancer, so I understand how you feel. For me, it is also my birthday month, and also the month my first son was born, so at least there is some positive side. It was my mum who taught me to knit and sew, so i am feel I am carrying o some small part of her with me when I knit or sew. I intend to pass the tradition on to her great-granddaughters when they are a little older.

lainey - So sorry that you are going through a rough patch this month. Hopefully your knitting will see you through. What would the difference be between your usual socks and a bed sock? Is it the yarn used, or perhaps the sizing of them?

I use the Rose City Rollers roll top for bed socks Rose city rollers I find it more comfortable than a ribbed cuff, not that they stay on my feet long! I take them off as soon as my toes are warm.

Can't believe it's May already! I did very little crafting in April. We spent the first two weeks in Hawaii visiting my DD and her family and meeting my new grandson. I was home for 9 days and managed to do a little crocheting and work on one scrapbook layout. Then we left for our cruises in the Caribbean. We're doing 2 cruises back to back on the Disney Magic. We're on day 5 of our first cruise which is a 7 night Southern Caribbean cruise. Our next cruise starts on Saturday and is a 5 night Eastern Caribbean cruise. Currently we're in Barbados getting ready to go on our excursion. Once we get home from vacation I have two weeks of work travel so it's not likely I'll get much crafting done in May either. I'll be cheering all of you on to have a productive and fun crafting month!

Those are cute! I'm the same with bed socks, start off with them on and during the night they end up on the floor beside the bed.

cakediva ~~ That is a pretty pattern and yarn. Looks very soft. I'm going to refresh my crocheting skills with a friend next week. A bit more portable than lugging around a sewing machine, especially in the summer. marysue63 ~ Great looking quilts. Even better when the fabric is from a "find". Do you quilt them yourself or have someone long-arm quilt them for you? lainey ~ Sorry that this is a sad month for you. Also that your husband has been made redundant. Are there any other jobs for him that might be available? Also, I understand about the sadness. April was my month of yuk, dealing with past deaths. Hugs to you. Your socks are always so very pretty. I look forward to seeing the next creation that you make.

I haven't made anything for a bit but, I did order a quilt kit for a quilt along. I've never done that before and thought it would be fun and keep my in the sewing room.
