I can't remember how to post pictures, but I am making some progress on my long list When I want to post pictures, I post from the Tapatalk app on my phone. It is really easy - there is a photo icon that you tap on, then you can choose the photo from your phone gallery. I always choose 'small' as the size and find the pictures don't come out too large on the forum. You can only choose one photo at a time (at least with the free version), but you can just repeat the prcess if you want to add more pictures.

I bought an old little red wagon at a garage sale to remove the wheels and make a raised planter. Wagon had other ideas, would not come apart with my force, ds's force, both out force and help of wd40. Wagon wanted to stay wagon, and I respect that. A wagon "hauling" flowers it shall be. I punted and used some old soda crate sides and pallets I had to make the top instead. 🥤🪡🎨🌺 More Franken-gardening. Soda crate sides+pallet wood+old sewing machine base+paint+flowers=this thing. Frankenplanter, I guess. http://instagram.com/p/C7DKbQXueJp

I need some help from the wonderful crocheters on here. This cardigan popped up on my Instagram feed: I really like it, but I haven’t crocheted for years, and I taught myself back in the pre-internet dark ages. So I took myself to YouTube for a refresher course on granny squares and now I have a couple of questions. 1. In one video, the presenter flipped her squares from front to back each round. I always did mine with the same side facing all the time. What is 'correct’ or does it not matter? 2. One presenter started each round with just one cluster in each corner, and finished the round with another cluster. The second presenter started with 2 clusters separated by 2ch. Is one way better than the other, or is that personal preference? I have chosen these colours for the squares And I am planning either white or cream for the joining rounds and the knitted parts. We’re going on vacation next week so I am planning for the squares to be my car project. I found a granny square colour randomiser online and have generated sequences for the back and the fronts, so I’m set to go!

Pretty sueg! To answer your questions, the flipping of the squares is to stop them slanting to one side. Given those squares are quite small I wonder if flipping would be necessary. I think the clusters -v- chain/clusters is personal preference and no chain makes for a tighter square. If I'm wrong someone with more experience will correct me!

I haven't been around as much lately but hope I'm still welcome to pop in and share some basket photos! The one at the top left was a "commission" from my sister - who wanted something to put toys in for their new puppy. If you're interested, I posted a brief video on the making of that one on my pinterest board: pin.it/6Rz4rkzBn (If you're hesitant about clicking links, I'm onemorejennifer7142 on pinterest) The other four were woven at the convention my mom and I attended in January. Had a great time, great teachers, and came home with four fabulous baskets! small photo under the toy basket: Pinckney by Pam Milat "In honor of Eliza Pinckney who introduced and cultivated the indigo plant in SC in the mid-1700’s, this small twill basket is woven with indigo dyed reed." This one is approx. 4x4x4. big photo top right: Blue Bayou by Debbie Wilson This is was my first experience with a coiled weave - yay for learning new techniques! - and it is woven on a (dried, painted, sealed) gourd. bottom left: Lightening Biscuit Basket by Anne Bowers “This unique basket starts with a basket base that features fractal burning by Anne’s friend, Dan Ridgeway. Black cane spokes are inserted into the base, twining and plain weave bring the sides up. Rim is beautiful with black cane on the outside rim, leather handles, dyed rim filler and double lashed waxed linen lashing.” bottom right: Madras Tote by Kathy Petronzio Love the color, herringbone weave, and leather handles on this one! It's about 15 x 9 x 7. beautiful work

I did that waffle stitch pocket wrap recently and the boredom nearly killed me. 😂 You might find after all the HOS Afghans this one drives you nuts. 😉

Lovely to see you posting jennifercw ! Your group of baskets is just amazing and I really like the descriptions. I love each and every one but my favorite has to be the coiled one. I love the theme of blues too. Thank you! That coiled one is so interesting, isn't it? It feels like a sculptural piece of art. I've got so many different baskets on my list of "things to try" but I would like to attempt another coiled/gourd creation some day - and maybe come up with my own design! All your baskets feel to me like art! ❤️

sueg I do not flip on little squares. I do flip on big Afghans. And second yes, two clusters separated by two chains in each corner. If you don't, it'll be circular..

I want to show something. I have, as of today, been without cigarettes for 37 days. The first month, I purchased hobby stuff in the amount of what I would have spent on cigarettes. This is what I ended up with:

LOL I’m not sure how I’d top that next time. Funnily enough, my dad had asked if I could make him a bolo toe! I bought the pieces I need on Etsy yesterday. Now, I just have to come up with a fun design for the decorative piece!

So for a 4-round square, I should be OK not flipping then? For the corners - I know you need the 2 chains in each corner, I haven't forgotten that much! It is more how they were starting each round. Both started in the corner each round, but one presenter started with one cluster in the corner space, then went around the square, then did a second cluster in the original corner, 2 chains and joined. The other one made cluster, 2 chains, cluster in the first corner, then went around the square, then joined from the final side cluster. I really can't remember how I used to do it, and - as I was self taught - how I did it wasn't necessarily 'correct' anyway.

Sounds like you've got a handle on it. 4 square will be fine.

jeremysgirl I absolutely LOVE the visual of what you spent on cigarettes! Dh and I were just talking about how much addictions cost. He wanted to get an enameled cast iron pot. I told him to just get it if it brings him joy. He was hesitant and then he said- I’ve saved so much over the last 6 months by not buying alcohol (he’d burn thru a Costco bottle of tequila in 2 weeks and would also get gin, vodka, bourbon and burn thru those in another 2 weeks) this is nothing. Yep. 100%. When he went to the ER and the brain tumors were found the first time around he quit cold turkey.

May has been a rather crazy month around here so I didn't accomplish as much as I'd hoped to. Getting closer to finishing a needlepoint ornament for DD. I also finished up the stack of Lined Drawstring Bags that have been on my sewing table for a couple of months now. All the fabrics and supplies were in my stash so more stuff out the door! These three bags went to the neighbor girls as an end of school happy. One immediately started to collect rocks with hers, one was adding leaves and small sticks to hers and the oldest discovered it worked as a shoulder bag. Love the imaginations! The remaining 4 bags and 1 wine bag are for the gift bag drawer to have on hand. .

But also maybe something quicker, that could be whipped up for baby blankets and such. That also worries me about the temperature blanket - same stitch, day after day.....

Oh, one of my favorite recent crafts... Although I didn't make (I helped with a purchase of that counts)and it was sort of a cheat. In my wanderings I found and bought a big bag of already made granny squares. (Only 3 bucks! Or 5? Anyway cheap!) I was going to play around with them but in the end I decided to give to my crafty eldest kid who also has taught themselves to crochet. Any way, my (cheap) generosity came back to me big time at Mom's Day. They put together a cardigan for me as I must have mentioned I loved one when I saw one. Lucky me! Everytime I see it I smile. http://instagram.com/p/C4-vxwwuB7n

Some of my projects that are on the go. This sweater is for me. I got the body and one sleeve done, then put it down for a bit, but I am trying to get the second sleeve done in the next few days I also started these socks while the sweater was resting. A bit different from my normal plain socks, and much slower going, but really pretty. On Friday, I went with a friend to the summer sale of a favourite yarn dyer, who is located in a village about half an hour from Munich. These skeins decided they wanted to live with me

More projects….. This is a graduation gift/money holder I designed and lasered for my cousins DD. The money is looped into the paper and then the paper comes out and folds in half and gets shoved under the slotted part in the back making a stand. The wood bends at that point and the paper is just enough to make it stick out. My DD refused to look at the camera but I was able to get a picture of her in her competition Leo from this year with her medal holder I designed and 3D printed. I laser cut wood rounds and glued them to the front of the holder and then made stickers of each of her meets and glued them on. It hangs on her wall next to the one from last year.

I dusted off my sewing machine this morning and made a project bag. I was looking through my stash last night and really wanted to use this deer fabric. My ironing skills have never improved
This is fabulous. That deer fabric is very cute!
