Lovely, but the online experts say it’s unlikely he’ll see jail time. Instead, he’ll continue to campaign on how abused and mistreated he is, and his cult members will lap it up. It’s extremely unlikely he will get any jail or prison time out of this. I’d be shocked if he got house arrest. Likely fines and some probationary terms which won’t impact his life because he will be given leeway as a presidential candidate. And he will appeal and likely be granted a stay on sentence until the appeal makes it way through the courts which will take past the election. But maybe it will be enough to move the needle for people planning on sitting out the election or the independents who were holding their noses and voting for trump. Although I don’t think there are many of those left. You either support Trump or see the dangers he poses and vote for someone who at least won’t throw our democracy away.

Trump and Chad Daybell both convicted on the same day. Yay! I'm watching the penalty phase. I doubt he'll get DP. Watching his daughter lying did him made me nauseous and I wonder if ste will speak again. The Christopher Gregor trial is in verdict watch as well.

My FB has already started up with all the boohooing. I'm so sorry, can you snooze them all for 30 days?!? I can and I do but there are just so many. I, unfortunately, cannot snooze my DH. We have had many discussions and he will be voting R. He disagrees with this and that but he won't be swayed from that red vote. We had a moment on Monday and I realized this is something we will never agree on. So while I would love to dance into my house tonight, I will do my very damn best to not gloat. And there will be an appeal, and he will continue to campaign and spew his lies to the masses that will believe him. So I will be the bigger person and not say anything.

Surely the average normal Republican voter would be unwilling to have a convicted POTUS on the world stage? I would never vote for someone who had been convicted as my countries political leader. This won’t even phase those who are Trump supporters and I don’t think there are “normal” Republicans left anymore — they eat their own if they are not all in on Trump. As we’ve seen time and again — those few who try to pretend they are not like Trump inevitably each back to I don’t like him but I’ll vote for him over any democratic candidate.

It appears that convicted felons are not allowed to vote in Florida. Not sure if that applies if the conviction was in a different state. Would be pretty funny if Trump can’t even vote for himself. They have already discussed seeking DeSantis help to change the law for him or something to allow him to vote... But Florida has honored out of state rulings over the years.

My sister and BIL as well as my former in-laws are Trump supporters but they are the only ones in my friends list and so far they've been quiet. We don't talk politics at all so I had to text my mom and other sister about the verdict.

Just go into the closet and smirk when you need to I am always in awe of how you and your DH manage, and not kill each other. Wishing you (literally) all the best the next 5.5 months!

I asked what happens if heaven forbid she is raped and needed an abortion. Remember, we also live in AR. He admitted he would take her over state lines to do whatever needed to be done. He's not heartless. Just a red voter.

I honestly didn't see this happening. I figured one count of guilty, but never all of them. That’s what I was afraid would happen holy }%^>. I mean we all know he is guilty and this is the lesser I think if the crimes he has comically but dang.

Let's be real. There is NOTHING in the Constitution that prohibits a convicted felon from running for president. Eugene Debs ran in 1920 from prison and garnered 3% of the vote, if Im not mistaken. The cult will likely not waver, but perhaps some of the more traditional Republicans will vote with their conscience instead of party lines.

I have real concerns that this is going to help his campaign. His supporters were always gonna vote for him anyway. I am hoping that some moderates will decide against voting for a felon. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

ABC News said that because the trial was in New York, and in the state of New York, some people convicted of lower level felonies, which he just was, are allowed to vote

I tend to agree there are a few that just couldn’t take him and where things are going but I think we are in the minority. I think most will still vote for him. They just see this as a simple he didn’t want his wife to know and tried to hide it no big deal. Clinton paid someone off so they think it’s the norm and won’t phase them in the least. They don’t believe 1/6 was really an insurrection but they were invited in because they showed that one police man leading them around - wasn’t he leading them away from congressmen? I haven’t watched anything on Fox about it. They think we are making stuff up about him and believe everything he says. I keep hoping that most will wake up. I know that most won’t but I keep hoping. I really wish that the classified documents trial would happen as I think that and well the Georgia one needs to happen. Seriously. Stealing classified documents, the phone call and 1/6 and those are still pending. It’s criminal. I’m glad this happened but I don’t envy the jurors of the judge.

He hadn’t voted for him but won’t vote for Biden. He thinks he is ruining the economy and then of course the border issue.

I think the best outcome is that he can't say, "even the jury found it was a sham!" which he certainly would have done if not found guilty of every single charge. That would have swayed independent voters to his side out of sympathy.

That would have swayed independent voters to his side out of sympathy. True but a grand jury found there was enough evidence to go to trial right? So not just the government. He will just say they were all democrats or bought off or something after all he said the whole thing was fraudulent.

I am just so damn proud of the jury! They weren't swayed by the magnitude of this case. They weren't cowed by tfg's supporters. They showed up, did their job, and had a unanimous verdict. WTG!!!

Most people I know realistically expect this anyway, so I do not think it will unexpected when this likely happens. However you were not going to change any of his followers minds and I do think this will help with those that maybe are teetering on the edge. No matter, jail time or not, I can’t change that but it makes me feel better that at the very least he was found guilty on all counts.
