I'm at conferences this week. The last hotel didn't have a fitness center. The one I'm heading to today does, so I hope to hit it

OK, so I was officially smoke free for 8 weeks as of yesterday. The first seven weeks following, I gained weight at the rate of about a pound a week. Sigh. But I refused to beat myself up about it. I mean, I quit smoking, right? What did I expect?
But as of today, I have been on a plant based diet for a week. Other than the pancakes I made last night (vegan) with all purpose flour, all my other grains this week have been whole grains. I weighed in 3.2 pounds lighter today than last Friday!!! How encouraging is that? I was just hoping to stop the gaining. But that really gives me some incentive.

I did Barre this morning. I really like it and wish it was at a time I could do it during the school year. Just little movements that add up and kick my ass.
This week I am focusing on tracking my food and making sure I have enough protein, although i have no idea what I'm making for dinner tonight

I am struggling to cut back Diet Coke and here you are quitting smoking which is extremely difficult.

I am feeling defeated. I have been working out 4+ nights/week for 3 weeks and not only have I not lost any weight but everytime I get on the scale it is up. I am doing better on my eating too. I am going to keep plugging away but I hope I start seeing some results soon. On the plus side my liver enzymes have improved. While still slightly high she said there was enough of an improvement that she doesn't think I need a liver ultrasound.

Same. I fell in November and hurt my knee. Went to PT in Jan/Feb, and had an MRI when I wasn't improving. Really thought I had torn something, but they claim it is Arthritis. Got a cortizone shot in my knee. Then freaking fell again - took the dog out at 3am and missed 2 steps. Fell on both knees and my left arm. The pain was now in both knees and I was distraught. I had a good cry, and then have been focusing on my knee stretches, which has helped so much, but I have to do them every day or I feel it the next. I have been alternating walking and swimming bc I really need to keep active, it helps so much mentally. My dr prescribed Saxenda for me, but I could never fill the rx. I went back to see her and she prescribed wegovy. Damn if it didn't get filled! But I am leaving for Denmark on Sunday, and I dont want to start a new med when I am out of the country, so I will wait until I get back to start. I hope I can keep getting the rx tho, since the shortage really makes it unknown. My blood pressure is also up, my dr is hoping weight loss will help that go down. I'm also on the pill and may need to go off if it is making my blood pressure higher. But I use it for birth control.... so I need DH to get a vasectomy bc I am only 48, and there are reports of people getting pregnant on Wegovy. I just cannot deal with a baby at this point in my life, so it's time for him to help out there... he's thrilled LOL. Wegovy may help with your blood pressure - it appears that many people have seen a reduced BP after taking it. I don't know how bad the shortages are for the lower doses, but it may be wise to fill the .25 dose now, and then go ahead and get a .5 dose filled when you get back from your trip. Some people suggest getting 3 doses lined up before you start, so you don't have any issues with continuity of care. I started Wegovy in April 2023, so I was fortunate to not have any time periods where I couldn't get the medicine, but I did jump up to 1.7 because of a shortage of 1.0. (I had thought about staying at 1.0 for a few months, but after a month or two on it, bumped up because of the shortage - I didn't go straight from .5 to 1.7! 🤣) Your progress is amazing! I am back from my trip and was able to get the .5 rx today! I will start the .25 dose towards the end of this week, I'm super foggy from jetlag, so I want to recover from my vacation first.

I’ve been decreasing my semaglutide dose for the last month or so, because (and this is flipping CRAZY to me!) my weight is a bit lower than I’d like… I’m hovering around 128, and I’d like to be more around 135. Trying to find that sweet spot where I can maintain at that dose! Also still trying to get better at working out, partly to build back some curves (like Zee , I’m struggling with my loss of booty) but also for my health. I am strictly looking at weight training, and I was doing great for a while! Unfortunately, I got out of the habit when we traveled last month and haven’t been able to get back in the routine yet. :/ That's so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!! I am about to start my first dose this week...

Late joining in but my goals is to get back on track this month. I was moving last month and then I sprained my ankle- I was consistent for over 4 years so I just need to get back into the habit.

I've lost nearly 100 pounds since I started Wegovy in April 2023! I hope your Wegovy experience goes well - and that you have minimal side effects. I didn't really start losing weight until I hit the higher doses, so don't be discouraged if the weight doesn't just fall off your first few weeks.

I went for my six month check up at the doctor today. Seriously I don't ever think I have seen a doctor so happy to hear that someone had quit smoking. It's been two months today. And she was downright giddy.
I am three pounds heavier than I was when I saw her in January. And I told her that I am committing to a plant based diet, mostly whole foods, for three months. She got so excited and said, I'm ordering your blood work right now. I want you to go have it done at the end of the three months. She said, I know you can do it and once you see your results, you'll want to continue.
Anyway, I've had a pretty rough few days. So seeing someone so happy just made my day.

I'm going to TRY to put my daily workout here. Maybe it will make me more accountable...
I did a 20 minute total body dumbell exercise video today.
Tomorrow is yoga.
I'm thinking I'd like to alternate legs/glutes/abs and arms/shoulders/back.
My thighs really nees some work as does ny back bra roll

Yesterday after 15 years I finally sought out a new Dr. and went in for a full physical. I know it sounds crazy and I have my reasons for waiting so long (totally not good ones obviously), but I am proud of myself. It was a good experience. My new Dr was a good choice as she was kind, upbeat and totally nonjudgemental. I got the works done at the clinic which was a lot to go through. I have a colonoscopy and mammogram scheduled. After all my lab results come back she is going to talk about weight loss medications with me. I have #50 that just won't budge.
I really don't get sick too often, but it's still a relief to actually know that health wise (besides the extra weight) I am doing ok.

So I've had a few bouts of dizziness over the past several months, but I nearly passed out twice last night. About 20 minutes after the second time, I found my mom's blood pressure cuff, and my bp was 94/56. I took it sporadically for a couple hours, and it hovered in the 80/90 range for the top number and between 48-59 for the top number.
The dizziness comes when I stand up too quickly. Last night, I broke a glass and got lightheaded when I leaned over to pick up the pieces.
I'll reach out to my doc if I experience this again.

Geez mich5481 that is concerning. Keep an eye on it. If you pass out you could hit your head or something and things could go from bad to worse. Take care of yourself.

My weight just likes to fluctuate. Did barre again this morning (it's Mondays only). I am amazed at how little movement and how little sweat actually works every part of my body.
Took the dog forna walk at 7:30 am and it was already hot. Depending on when the Cup is presented, we nay go back out tonight.
I'm trying to do some movement during commercial breaks.
I'd really like to tone/lesson the fat on my thighs and gain some muscle/tone my arms.

Just finished my second volume of lifting with RISE and curtsy lunges kicked my booty, literally. I worked a lot of kinks out yesterday when we went kayaking. I've got about two and a half months to get in beach body mode. Lol

This Saturday I weighed in at 199!! Whoo hoo! It's the first time I've seen "under 200" in probably a decade. Had a blood draw that morning too and I'm interested to see if I'm getting anywhere with blood sugar/cholesterol, etc.

Thanks. I promised one of my friends I'd call the doctor tomorrow, as the highest my BP got today was 106/69. Any update? I missed the call from the nurse, but she left me a message in the online portal. The doc wants me to increase my fluids, have another round of bloodwork, and see him next week. I also had my sleep study moved up to tomorrow night, so we'll see how that goes. It had been scheduled for August 8, but they had a cancelation. Thanks for checking on me!

So, I know this is a petty goal, but I have to be in a courtroom with xh in September.
The last time we were in the same room was March 2023.
While I am comfortable with how I look, I obviously am working to bettering myself and my looks.
I'd love to be a bit more toned and weigh just a bit less in 11 weeks when we go to court (if he doesn't pay things by then).
So, I'm planning to start a consistent workout program, really focusing on toning and strength. This week I am trying different things to see what I like and what works together.
