Good morning.
Today I have my first voice lesson. I'm really nervous, because my voice is so out of tune. I have to remember that is why I'm re-training and just try to enjoy the moment. Hopefully, it goes well.
I'll probably make dh a pork chop w/rechauffe crash hot potatoes and veggie. If not, I might suggest chicken Florentine.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this week? As you know, we get our furniture delivered tmw. Then we have some work to do at mil's house. Then we can relax and I hope dh will take a break from the next project.

Enjoy the lesson scrapmaven ! Today I'll run errands before the God-awful heat arrives tomorrow and Thursday. Dinner might be Horseradish Meatloaf. Today's photos are from Oslo, Norway. This was the lake behind our hotel. DH and I woke up really early so we took a walk before breakfast. It was so serene!  When DH saw this mirror with the words I AM JOY, he just had to snap a picture!  Here's our group getting off the bus before we boarded the overnight ferry to Copenhagen. It was a wonderful experience. They closed one of the fancy dining rooms to serve us a special meal of rack of lamb, grilled vegetables, couscous and mint. Dessert was New York Cheesecake with mango and roasted almonds. Yum!  |

scrapmaven Good luck on your lessons. How fun that you are doing something special for yourself! It's reporting time at work so I'll be cracking away at that. My siblings are having issues that have me worried. One is having a skin cancer removal procedure today and another is in the hospital for post-menopausal bleeding. She's had some heart issues too so they're hoping that they can do surgery on Wednesday if all goes well. This sister is morbidly obese and bed-bound so she has a lot of issues that can cause complications. We're all taking turns at the hospital to be with her. Dinner tonight is kielbasa and potatoes and my parents are coming over. Hope you all have a great day!

I didn't know you were doing this! I think it's awesome! Sing loud, sing proud!!! What is everyone up to this week? By some stroke of crazy luck, I only have four meetings this week. 4! None today. Two tomorrow. One each Wednesday and Thursday mornings and no meetings on Friday. I don't even know what on earth happened to cause this miracle. Plus, May accounting transactions are still open so I can't pull any current data until next week, which limits my work even further. It's practically like being on vacation. Dinner tonight is kielbasa and potatoes and my parents are coming over. I make it in packets for the campfire. I add green pepper and onion. Lots of garlic and oregano. Yum! I can either grill some sausages and make some coleslaw tonight or I can make a pork tenderloin and corn on the cob. Random veggies everywhere. |

jeremysgirl, thank you for cheering me on, because it took a lot of guts to do this after so many years. I wish you could be on vacation this week. I hope you can find some good stuff to do during the downtimes at work.

While we were eating lunch on our drive home yesterday, one of my coworkers messaged me to see if I could work for her today. As we were making good time at that stage, I said yes. So today I was in for four hours, and the playground was so wet there was no way we could play outdoors.
It is still raining here, though not as heavily as over the weekend. The rain is expected to ease overnight, but we still have a flood warning in place for the rest of the week, due to saturated soil and water flowing downstream and into other, already high, rivers. Three people are already known to have drowned, including two firemen whose rescue boats overturned - two separate incidents.
Dinner tonight is simple. We bought some nice, fresh white asparagus at the market in Mainz on Saturday and I bought some small potatoes on the way home from school, so it will be those with hollandaise sauce and fresh chopped parsley.

I worked last night and never sat down all night...SO busy......ended my shift setting up for yet another emergency ....I hope the little guy did ok🙏🏻
Dinner will be grilled chicken thighs which DH rubbed down with this Jamaican Jerk rub this morning. Grilled corn and a salad with that!

I'm job hunting because my workplace made more rounds of job cuts, and after five years, this time I got laid off. Sigh. I hate trying to find a new job at my age, but the bills won't pay themselves.  |

Sorry you lost your job ~ wishing you well in your search. jeremysgirl, someone, somewhere, knew you needed a *light* week. Enjoy! Tearisci sending good thoughts for your family members. I've decided on Chicken Divan instead of the meatloaf. When I heard we were going on 2 overnight night ferries I thought they would be bare-bones rustic but we were pleasantly surprised with swimming pools and hot tubs. The food was awesome and our stateroom had a big window and was quite comfortable.

Truthfully, I was so incredibly burned out at that job. I only stayed because the pay was good and we had unlimited PTO. In a way, I'm happy this happened and I'm hopeful I will find a job I actually enjoy again. It's just this stressful part of applying and interviewing I could live without.  |

scrapmaven - have fun today! cadoodlebug - I am too enjoying your pictures and your descriptions to go with them. Tearisci - thinking of you and your sisters. Anita - sorry to hear about the job loss, hopefully you will find something quick and somewhere you will love working. Shrugs for ideas for dinner. Struggling a lot with this lately. It is getting more humid as the day goes on so we had DD put the AC on. I don't really want to cook (never really do!) and have a hot stove or oven on. I can talk myself out of cooking easily!  We are to get storms too tonight. We will see what we end up with! We have the bathroom all insulated, we got the new fan/light show/Bluetooth speaker installed and working this weekend. Now we need to drywall the ceiling, which is where I have a hard time because it is so heavy. But we have a drywall jack that we will use to help. We are getting there... Not sure if I mentioned we had a roof leak or not, but that is now fixed. Would have never noticed it until it would have been too late if we hadn't gotten the downpour the previous weekend with the ceiling open in the bathroom. Oye!

Good luck with the job hunt! My position was eliminated last year and I got moved into a group I didn't want to be in so I started looking and found a great job. I worried that my age would be a factor since I'm 57 and by far the oldest person in my company but it turned out really well. |

I am loving it! It's just another Monday here. Had a great day yesterday celebrating DH niece's high school graduation. It was a dreary day so we didn't get the chance to sit out by the pool but I enjoyed talking to everyone. We don't get together nearly enough. Dinner will be pork chops on the grill.

spent the morning at the car mechanic.. 4 sensor systems were replaced. so I don't have false indicator lights on anymore.
thick thick fog today.. love it. working on my sister in law's album today and cleaning up in anticipation of my cleaning lady coming tomorrow.
dh comes home tomorrow. dinner tonight is up in the air totally.
as I left the mechanic, I was driving north on 101 (parallels the bay) and saw a big black cloud of smoke in my rear view mirror. turns out there was a massive fire in construction south just south in redwood city.. but kind of startling to see.
congrats on the new grandchild! birdhouse lady!!
