Good morning.
I don't have anything planned today and I feel like doing something. At some point I do need to run down the hill for a couple groceries. I'm probably going to work on my puzzle, apart from some minor chores.
I'm not sure what to make for dinner, but I'm thinking about af seasoned chicken sandwiches and tater tots. It's gonna be hot, so I don't want to use the stove.
What's on your menu?
What are you up to today?
Wishing jeremysgirl all of the good luck today as she has her interview.
May today be a best-day-in-a-long-time-type-of-day-for-all.

Happy Tuesday!
I'm plugging along at work although I don't have much to do this afternoon. I'm heading out of town next month with my sisters to Washington wine country so I've been making sure that our reservations are all set as I'm a planner. I'm really looking forward to the trip as I need a vacation!
Tonight, I'll be making spaghetti in the instant pot and taking dinner to my parents. My mom had her monthly visit with the pain clinic and it looks like they have scheduled an ablation for her which I'm happy about since she's been in so much pain.
Hope you all have a good day!

What are you up to today? I am done with that interview and I'm just tidying up for the cleaning lady. Wishing jeremysgirl all of the good luck today as she has her interview. Honestly I feel so defeated after that interview. I felt like everything was moving along very nicely. I was knocking ball after ball out of the park. And then, one of the panelists (the person who would be my director) said, this position is a step back for you. Why would you be interested in a position that is a step backward? I told her that I am a person who enjoys learning and am committed to growth. That I felt I had taken my position as far as I could go here, I am an ambitious person, and that their agency is much larger and has much more potential for growth. And I think she did not like that answer. Her face changed. ETA: I'm frustrated, just really frustrated. I am going to go scrapbook for a while. My coworker called in sick so our staff meeting for this afternoon is cancelled. I'm not feeling any guilt about walking away for a while.

Best of luck to you jeremysgirl!! I'm home again today because there were no good jobs available for me to take ... I'm not sad about it but my bank account will be! My plan is to switch out all of my Spring decor for my Summer things (even though Summer hasn't officially started yet) ... the theme for Summer is sunflowers and highland cows ... so cute!!! I will post photos when I'm finished ... No idea what I will have for dinner ... maybe poached eggs.

in the 1960's, my dad started bringing home from. his friends bottles of wine (my dad never drank before this time). his friend was a professor at the UW, and a bunch of the professors compared the soils and weather of france and eastern washington and found a match making washington a good place to grow grapes. this group ended up founding Columbia winery..one of the first in the state.
I am making lemon pepper chicken for dinner with couscous. fruit on the side. fog is being pushed off the coast so will be warmer today. going to the gym, then working on my closet and scrapbook for my sister in law.

ntsf, that's a very interesting story about your dad and his friends. Do you drink wine? Are you a connoisseur? jeremysgirl, I'm sorry that the interview left you feeling deflated. Just know that the right job will be there for you. It's just taking too long. Scrap and relax. ((((HUGS)))). Tearisci, so nice to hear that you have a fun trip w/your sisters to look fwd to. How is your other sister doing? leannec, I can't wait to see photos of your summer decor. I will post photos or more likely will ask someone else to post photos of my living room in a few days. Dh is just finishing the baseboards.

I am not sure for dinner, I don't think we what a repeat of meatballs. I think I will freeze what is left. We will figure it out later I guess! I'm sorry the interview left you feeling defeated jeremysgirl. I wonder what was going through the panelist's mind? Frustrating.

This morning I have a dental cleaning scheduled then I’ll run errands. Dinner will be Tomatillo Pork from the freezer. Yum! On our 11th day of the trip, we took another overnight ferry ~ this time from Stockholm to Helsinki. Once again, it was a fabulous ferry ride. It was cold on deck! Our dinner at the steak house onboard was incredible with steak, chicken, pork & lamb. Plus a huge salad. Our cabin had a window seat (kind of) overlooking the promenade. DH and I found a little niche with two benches where we played 5 Crowns as the sun set. Pure bliss! The promenade from the elevator. Me in the window seat. Don't ask how I got in there. The sunset!

I have never been much of a drinker.. I don't drink at all. for years, dad had a glass of wine with dinner. my mom never drank.. her family was teetotaller--members of a temperance organization.

cadoodlebug, you look so cute in that little cubby hole. That looks like a very nice ship and your dinner looks delicious and so fresh. Any night that you can sleep on the water is a great night, indeed. It's my favorite way to sleep. Have a good cleaning and pick a good toy from the toy chest. scrappert, Enjoy your today.

Tearisci , so nice to hear that you have a fun trip w/your sisters to look fwd to. How is your other sister doing? Thanks for asking! She's back home now and her biopsy was negative so we were all very happy about that. Now we just need to figure out what's going on with my mom since she's in so much pain!

Happy Tuesday! It's been a busy morning in the office. The day feels like it is flying by. jeremysgirl we set a record low temp overnight of 37 degrees! I was not happy. My parents want to try and see as many of the grandkids play baseball as they can while they are here. So last night grandson number three had a game that we went to. It warms my heart to see how excited the grandkids get to see their great grandparents. My mom looks so much better than she did at Christmas. She still talks about moving back but not as often. My dad still isn't budging. I have a meeting tonight so I won't be home until after dinner. DH is in charge of feeding my parents so who knows what is for dinner.

I never posted yesterday. Got sidetracked. I rarely make ground meat tacos. Dh limes that kind but he doesn’t cook so he’s out of luck. I like any kind of fish, seafood or veggie. I’ve never made tamales. Dd gets them from parents at her school. She has a large Hispanic population. Bummer about your interviewer jeremysgirl. I signed Luke up for Music & Movement class. The 1st one was this morning. He was super shy. Next week should be better. I need to prep for the next houseguest tomorrow while Luke naps. Dinner is unknown currently.

Good evening all. I woke up this morning to more rain! Yesterday was supposed to be the last rainy day for this week, but no! And today is cold as well as rainy, so double boo. I had to walk down to the grocery store, as I didn't go yesterday, because I was waiting for hedge man (who came at 4:30pm!). I didn't need much, but a few things were essential for dinner tonight. I am making a white bean and sweet potato shakshuka, which is one of our favourite vegetarian dinners. Tearisci - I am glad your sister's biopsy was negative and that they can find a solution to the pain soon.

DH is busy preparing for his road trip - loading the quads, packing his gear, etc. They are leaving early in the morning, drive a couple hours to their destination and then ride the rest of the day. They are spending the night, will ride on Thursday and drive home early evening on Thursday. I’m actually looking forward to some alone time.
I’ve done a load of laundry but nothing else today. Sometimes I feel like I’m being so lazy. I always said that my retirement plan was to read on the deck. I feel like I’m definitely living that dream.
Supper tonight is undecided however I’m planning to have Chinese takeout when DH is away because he doesn’t like it.

JeremysGirl...sorry the interview left you feeling defeated (((HUGS))) ntsf....When my bestie lived in Seattle I would go at least once a year, and always included a visit to Columbia Winery....I so miss those trips now that she is in Vegas😕 Tearisci...Glad to hear the biopsy was negative and your sister is doing well.
Dinner will be tarragon turkey cutlets, cole slaw left over from the other night and probably a salad.

karenlou, I'm adding cole slaw to the menu, as well. We have wonderful neighbors and he's having an angiogram and I'm guessing stent placed this am. So, I'm bringing dinner. Since it's so hot I'm gonna do air fryer chicken sandwiches and now that I'm cooking for other people than dh I'm going to make an air fryer roasted red potato recipe and cole slaw for them. Dh doesn't eat cole slaw. Would you be willing to share the recipe for your tarragon turkey cutlets? Dh really likes tarragon chicken. Vegas is a fun place to visit, but Seattle is much prettier. We go to Vegas for the shows. Ok, folks, cole slaw, yay or nay? I personally, love it love it love it.

Scrap and relax. ((((HUGS)))). STill have not moved to the scrap table. Haha...this day went a little sideways. I wonder what was going through the panelist's mind? Frustrating. I thought we were just moving along super well and then her face just changed. It did not seem as open somehow. You know how you can tell someone just didn't quite resonate with something you said? She's back home now and her biopsy was negative so we were all very happy about that. This is goooooood news! we set a record low temp overnight of 37 degrees! I was not happy. We did not get that low. But I did put a blanket on, the window above my bed was open. I signed Luke up for Music & Movement class. Now this sounds like a fun grandma/grandson thing to do. Ok, folks, cole slaw, yay or nay? Depends on who's making it. There are some I like, and some I don't. I hate the cheaters who use poppy seed dressing (my MIL). I don't really hate her. I love her. But not her coleslaw. LOL! I'm thinking it's a taco tuesday! I ran downtown to the library on my lunch hour and I decided to pop into the vegan restaurant. For under $10, I got three cauliflower tacos that were delicious. I will definitely go back there. Did I say earlier that I'm having rechauffe? I'm having rechauffe.

Happy Tuesday. I spent the better part of yesterday doing yard work. Good thing because today it is raining!! Baby is doing great, parents are exhausted. Apparently, he sleeps all day and parties all night!! jeremysgirl sorry about the interview. Maybe it wasn't as bad as you think. I will still keep my fingers crossed for a good outcome. Hang in there, you are doing great. I am particular when it comes to coleslaw. I only like it from KFC. For dinner tonight I am attempting to make chicken lettuce wraps. I had some recently at a restaurant and I think I can do the same or better. I also am getting my haircut this afternoon. I am in need of a good trim.

The Birdhouse Lady. I love KFC coleslaw and one from Fresh Market when we’re in Florida. More vinegar than mayo.

Another niece is visiting, and we went out for Mexican food last night. I think we’re going to order vegetarian pizza tonight. There’s tons of food in my fridge, but it all includes things she doesn’t or can’t eat (she was veggie, but has just started eating chicken again … the only thing with chicken is my Mexican soup, but it has corn which she is deathly allergic to … my bad!! did not think any of this through). I like cole slaw, some better than others. Makes a good addition to a BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Local restaurant (Hick’ry Pit), two thumbs up! They make a great dressing, and a side of cole slaw is big enough to feed the entire family. KFC, I’m good with that, too. Rarely make it at home, but if I did, I’d try to stop by Hick’ry Pit to buy some of their dressing. From yesterday’s thread: I rarely make tacos at home because I have a love/hate relationship with taco shells. Usually I just make taco salad instead, with seasoned ground beef. But I do get carnitas tacos at the Mexican market by our scrapbook store, and they are to die for. Double wrapped in small corn tortillas (warmed, not fried), with just chopped red onion, cilantro, pico, and a squeeze of lime on top. Really can’t get enough of that. jeremysgirl, best of luck. Hopefully you were reading her body language wrong. Tearisci, I’m so glad your sister’s path report came back clear. ❤️
