Good morning.
I don't have anything planned today. I will find some stuff to do at home. I need to do a couple chores and then I can figure out what I want to do for the rest of the day.
Dinner will be rechauffe chicken sandwiches w/roasted red potatoes for dh. I made enough to feed an army, since I shared our next door neighbors.
What's on your menu?
What do you have planned today?
Wishing everyone a happy, good day!

Today I have a Newcomer’s Luncheon. Dinner will be ribs. Today’s pictures are from Helsinki, Finland. First up is Temppeliaukio Church more commonly known as the Rock Church as it is built into a massage rock formation. This beautiful structure is the Helsinki Cathedral. This is Senate Square. This is DH waiting for our food at a delightful café with outside seating. The weather was gorgeous!

JoP , it's such a nice surprise to see you here. How are you doing? I'm not too bad thank you. Everything still stable, but next CT scan is due mid July so fingers and toes crossed for the same news.

Good morning scrapmaven - enjoy your day! Hello JoP - prayers for good CT results cadoodlebug - gorgeous photos! Lazy day here. Another night where I didn't sleep well and DH is home today - not sure he's sick but he's taking a sick day. I've tackled most of the housework I intend to do today so will read and hopefully scrapbook this afternoon. Dinner is easy - we're eating the leftovers from last night. Tonight is supposed to be our weekly family game night but we might just make it an early night and reschedule.

Happy Wednesday!
A few days closer to the weekend!
Took my mom to the orthopedist this morning and they took xrays of her hip and knee. Couldn't find what could be causing her pain but she has a nerve ablation scheduled for next week with the pain doctor. Hopefully that will help the pain. She can't even use her walker so she's in a wheelchair if she has to get out and around. We've been bringing in meals for them to help her stay put.
Tonight I'm making chicken stroganoff but my dad doesn't like chicken so I'll take them leftover spaghetti from last night.
Hope you all have a good day!

Good morning! Waves hi to JoP! I'm having a rough one. I did not sleep well last night. My poor eyes and nose are draining I'm sure because of a sinus infection. I used to have chronic sinus infections. The ENT always said they couldn't do anything for me because I smoked. COVID hit and I've been only averaging about one a year since WFH. But today I've got it good. I feel like someone ran over my head. I took the day off. I was not staring at a computer screen all day. But I've just been ambling around the house doing nothing now for almost 6 hours. I feel like I'm wasting a day. I do not do down time very well. I should just grab my favorite crochet blanket and lay down on the couch. Maybe I can even tolerate sitting still enough to watch a movie. I'm planning on a roasted carrot salad tonight. It will be over greens with chopped cucumber, navy beans, and a garlic tahini dressing. I have a nice loaf of sourdough that I've barely nibbled on and so I will toast a nice slice of bread to go with dinner too.

I'm loving your pictures, cadoodlebug! Welcome back, JoP! I'm putting myself together to run around a bit. Aldi, library, an appt, post office...the usual. It's going to be warm today so the AC is on to jeep things cool. We will throw chicken on the grill for salads. Greens, cucumbers, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, blue cheese crumbles, raisins. Avocado and tomato for Nick. I like poppyseed or raspberry vinaigrette dressing. He likes a jalapeño ranch or something southwest-y with tortilla strips for crunch. Maybe roasted corn. I love summer! Sending belated best wishes for the job search, jeremysgirl. I would have answered the same. Maybe they are afraid you'd want to move on from that position and they'll be back in the heat of the search again. But honestly, not everyone makes decisions based on blind ambition and I wish hiring folks understood that. A lateral move or even a step "back" can be desirable for a million reasons. Desiring change, climate, work-life balance, even commute...all valid. And it's not like we haven't all known workplaces that became nightmares...most people do move on because of managerial issues, including lack of opportunity, and conflict or dissatisfaction. I'm sure your work, reputation and references reflect your work ethic and ability. They would be lucky to have you! Hope everyone has a great day!

Aww... tmarschall that was an excellent pep talk. ❤️ I'm so grateful for the support I've gotten here. Some days I feel like they are gaslighting me at work so it helps to be able to have some straight talking support.

we are having left over chicken, maybe a salad, maybe some couscous. I have a zoom this afternoon, going to gym this morning, running to the store for a few things and then,
dh and I are going out! we are going to an Oscar Peterson music concert.. where they are playing his music, including a suite of music with the theme of Africa, that has never been played. this is at our big symphony hall so will dress up a bit. I'm not the biggest fan of the music but dh wanted to go so we are going.

Good afternoon, I went into the city this morning as I needed to get some more yarn for my crochet project and also because a new Asian grocery opened in the same shopping plaza as the yarn store. The Asian grocery is awesome and I can see me spending time and money there. I wandered through the main pedestrian zone and it was crazy! The European Football Championships start on Friday and the opening game is here in Munich (Germany v Scotland). The whole city is getting ready. Scottish fans on the train Signs and flags at one of the town plazas Photo point outside the town hall I was planning to totally avoid the city on Friday, but while I was out I received a call from the Oral Medicine clinic I’ve been visiting about the ‘thing’ in my mouth to tell me there is an opening on Friday for my MRI, instead of waiting another 2 weeks to my scheduled appointment, so I accepted. Then I’ll see them again next Tuesday and decide if I should call the neurosurgeon to see if I can get an earlier appointment with her, as it is scheduled for the day after my original MRI date. DH is out for dinner again tonight - he has a new hire who started Monday and will be based in Barcelona and another who will report to new guy visiting from Gothenburg, so the three of them are out together. I bought food while I was in the city for me, so I will be eating rosemary gnocchi with pesto.

I'm home yet again today ... there were almost no secondary jobs posted - all elementary ... no thank you! It's probably a good thing because I have only had about two hours of sleep in the past two days ... chronic insomnia is kicking my butt right now ... I managed to get some more planning done for when my friend and her husband visit next month ... so excited!!! I got my Summer decor finished ... it's pretty cute! I will post photos when I start the thread on Saturday. I'm doing a bit of laundry and I need to pick up some prescriptions later ... not much else happening until 5pm when I am taking my girlfriend to an open house ... she needs to move and I found this listing for her to see ... I seem to be putting more effort into her house hunt than she is ... sigh!

Thank y'all for enjoying my photos. I'm trying to keep it to as few as possible since we took so many photos between the two of us. I'll have to decide how to condense them for my album.

It's a beautiful day! Sunny and not too hot, yet.
My dad has been looking at condos around here online so we drove around today to see what he found. I am not sure he is on board with moving back. I think he is just doing this to appease my mom while they are here.
Made a quick run to the grocery store and the pharmacy now we are back home for the day.
I am getting ready to head out for a long walk.
Dinner will be beef tips.

No plans for today but to stay indoors and stay cool. Tried going outside earlier but it was already to hot and humid. I'll be working on my planner and watch a movie or two.
For dinner we are having chicken salad sandwiches on a croissant.

I have thawed chicken, but since last night was shower night, we ended up with Qdoba for dinner. I am thinking chicken and rice tonight. Then I will serve more veggies on the side.
Hot and humid here, but AC is on!

Good Morning! I spent some good quality time with my seam ripper this morning before I headed into work. I really want to get this quilt top finished so I can move on to another project. I am really kind of sick of this quilt and I don't think I even like it!! Dinner tonight is burger patties and ceasar salad. Quick and easy. Last night I made chicken lettuce wraps and they were quite good. The rain has stopped (for now) but I am wearing wool socks, blundstones, and a down vest!! Ahhh, summer in Alaska!!! cadoodlebug I have really, really been enjoying your pictures. You are going to have quite the album to look back on!!

The Birdhouse Lady, how's your little cutiepie doing? stormsts, do you want your parents to move back to your area? Would they be better off? jeremysgirl, I give you official permission to lay on the sofa and watch a movie or crochet or both. You are allowed to truly rest and relax today. Do it tmw if necessary, as well. leannec, one of the things I always told the boys when they weren't putting effort into something was, "I can't care more than you do". If she won't look then she'll be homeless. This is a HER problem. You just focus on your own stuff.

We ate out the last two nights so I really need to cook (or at least pretend cook) tonight. Since my BIL wants me to take him to Costco (he finally had to give up driving as the after-effects of his stroke over ten years ago have really disabled him), I think I’ll get … drum roll … a Costco chicken! Then the sky’s the limit. Currently thinking chicken mushroom risotto, thanks to JoP. Today is the one-year anniversary of the gentleman friend’s wife’s passing. So please spare a kind thought for him and his adult kids.

stormsts, do you want your parents to move back to your area? Would they be better off? I think it would be best if they come back in the the next year. My mom has not bounced back since she fell last October. She has a hard time getting around. My dad is still in really good shape. He hikes with a group and I think he is afraid to give that stuff up. They still get out on the lake weekly but I know they avoid going out on the weekends when it is so crowded. My mom would have moved back a year ago if she could convince my dad.

This is a HER problem. You just focus on your own stuff. I know ... her issue is that she is low income but refuses to face the fact that she is not going to be able to afford a place as big and nice as she is in now ... she is being super picky and it is going to bite her in the ass! If she wants a place for her massive dining room table (that I think is ugly) she will have to find an older suite because the new builds are not big enough (in her price range) ... she wants two bedrooms (!) ... for what??? Not going to happen! She has a ton of crap to get rid of and she hasn't even started other than to list a bunch of shoes on Facebook Marketplace ... shoes that will not sell because hardly anyone is a size 6 I threw so much stuff away when I moved ... she needs to do the same! Thanks for letting me vent!

DH is off on his ATV adventure with ODS and my brother. They left at 6 am and like a good wife, I was up at 5:30 to see him off. They are riding all day and spending the night. If the weather permits, they will ride tomorrow before returning home.
I got a call from DDIL early saying that grandboy #1 missed the school bus so I picked him up and took him to school. I took a quick trip into the city this afternoon. I found some insulated tumblers for my friend and I to take on our cruise. I took them to a trophy shop to have them laser engraved with our names. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out.
Now I’m waiting for the Chinese restaurant to open so I can order takeout. It’s the perfect meal when DH is away.
After supper, I’ll plant myself in front of the tv and watch some stupid tv. I’m currently intrigued with Unexpected. My oldest son and his now wife got pregnant young (19 and unmarried) and it was a shock. But seriously the teens in this show are 15 and 16 years old. One family has 3 generations of teen moms. I’m not judging but geez…
