Good morning.
Today will be quite enjoyable. This am I have a coffee yak w/my mom friends. Then I finally have a haircut this afternoon. I've been trying to get an appt for a couple weeks, but it was graduation and she was packed.
Dinner will be rechuaffe. Last night ds and dh did takeout.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
jeremysgirl, how are you feeling today? I hope that you're better.
I've been practicing my vocal scales and my aria and I must say that it feels so good to be singing, once again. I ordered sheet music for the first time in years. So, I'm going to encourage all of you to do the things that you love the most. What have you been longing to do? Why not do it if it's w/in your grasp. What's stopping you?
Make today the best day that you can. No matter what happens, you have a tribe to come home to.

I'm glad you're enjoying singing scrapmaven ! I hope to make it to a class at our sport’s club today. Dinner will be the Tomatillo Pork we didn’t get to on Tuesday. I have many wonderful photos of Tallinn, Estonia to share so I’ll break them into several days. First, we took a 2-hour ferry ride from Helsinki to Tallinn. They had a wonderful buffet so we ate breakfast. I was surprised to see a huge porthole in the women’s bathroom. We met up with our guide who was a wonderful young man who had a Russian background but spoke English like it was his native language. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral shows the Russian architecture. It was built in the late 1800’s when Estonia was part of the Russian Empire. The beautiful skyline of Tallinn.

Good evening all, I’ve had a fairly quiet day today. I had to go to the post office to collect a package that I missed yesterday while I was out, and I went to the supermarket on the way home to pick up a couple of things.I have been crocheting for most of the afternoon but I’m taking a break as my thumb is hurting. Tomorrow I have my MRI and my friend has said she will meet me at the clinic and wait with me until it’s done. I know I’d be fine anyway, but it is going to be nice to have the company, as MRIs freak ne out as I am a bit claustrophobic . We’ll go for coffee or lunch once I’m finished.
DH is out again tonight so I’m on solo dinner again. Tonight I’m making spinach and paneer curry. There will be rice and I am also considering defrosting one of the leftover naan dough balls from last week.

Happy Thursday!
I woke up thinking it was Friday so imagine my disappointment!
Working on fun stuff today. Just did some SM posts for a chocolate shop so that's fun to do.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight. We have our wine club pickup party so we'll probably grab something to eat around there.
Hope you all have a good day!

Hi friends! This week's dinner is chuck roast and whatever frozen veggie we decide on. I'm working on adding attendee demographic info for a post-conference report, and also need to work on final refund requests. That'll probably be this afternoon's focus. I made a new cross-stitch pattern, so I've been working on that. I am considering doing a border around the edges once it's done because the fabric color and some of the thread colors that make up the edges are very close. This is the Aida I'm using (thank goodness for easy count Aida!) and the page I'm currently working on has a lot of DMC 168. I don't know if I want to do just a single border of Xs or something else entirely... what are your thoughts, peas?

how are you feeling today? I hope that you're better. I seriously just as crappy as yesterday. I'm like right on the cusp of "I should go get antibiotics" and "my body can fight this thing and I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow." I've been practicing my vocal scales and my aria and I must say that it feels so good to be singing, once again. I ordered sheet music for the first time in years. So, I'm going to encourage all of you to do the things that you love the most. What have you been longing to do? Why not do it if it's w/in your grasp. What's stopping you? I love this, just love this for you. You are deserving of every bit of joy this brings you. I'm not sure I have anything on reserve. I tend to just get a wild hair and start something, everything else be damned. Whether I'm good or I'm bad at something. Even though it bites me in the ass many, many (most?) times, I tend to be pretty fearless about stuff. I'm going to my mom's tonight. I offered to make a big salad for everyone to share. She wasn't planning on serving any vegetables. And then I'm going to make some potato leek soup to take too. I might make it for lunch. I had some potatoes just wasting away. So I figured I'd better use them. And leeks were on sale at the Better Health store yesterday. I had a little PMS, so I really went there for vegan ice cream. I know this is *not* quality food. But I mean the PMS chocolate cravings are real!!!!

cadoodlebug , those are wonderful photos, but my favorite is the bottom photo of both you and dh. You're such a good looking couple. I love the architecture of the buildings. sueg , would it help to close your eyes before you go into the tunnel? Then you won't see it. Also, they might have open MRI which mgith be less daunting. MRI's never bothered me, but a lot of people find them disturbing. You are not alone. Tearisci , Doing SM posts for a chocolatier would be very fun. Too bad they don't pay you in merchandise. Enjoy today.
rymeswithpurple, do you peruse the craft thread? Please show us your project when you're finished. Does Miss Bess keep you company or does she try and play w/your thread?
jeremysgirl, when you're on the fence just remember that the sooner you take an antibiotic the sooner you feel better. Can you get a video visit or just message your doctor? I hope you feel much better quickly. Thank you for your sweet words. They are truly meaningful to me.

scrapmaven - my eyes are shut the entire time I am in the MRI - otherwise I would totally freak out. The only one where I could open my eyes was the breast one, where I was laying face down and they had a mirror arranged so I could see out onto the room.

My doc is out today. I actually had a check up scheduled for today. My annual. And she rescheduled it. So I would have to go to urgent care. And Jeremy said this morning those dreaded words to me, are you sure it's not COVID? So I'm trying to get up the nerve to take a test. So far we haven't had it. I haven't been sick in a very long time.

scrapmaven - I'm so happy for you with the singing! sueg - prayers for all to go well jeremysgirl - I'll put my vote in for UC - if you need antibiotics the sooner the better. And they can swab for covid also. Feel better soon cadoodlebug - gorgeous photos! Up early for DD17's annual physical - our provider is running a bunch of tests to try and figure out her joint issues. She goes back at the end of July. Dinner is meatball parm in a blanket (basically meatball with sauce and cheese individually wrapped in pizza dough), green beans, salad, and watermelon

My COVID test was negative. So it's not that. I am not going to dinner at moms I decided. Being sick gives me a good excuse.

DH is home from his ATV adventure. We are expecting a major storm later today and it was already raining when they were riding so they just packed up and came home. He did have a blast yesterday. They rode on sand dunes and lots of water. Now to clean the machine!
My Chinese takeout last night was delicious and I was hoping to have leftovers. However, it was so good that I ate it all! Not sure what’s for supper tonight but steak is on sale at the grocery store so I might grab a couple of steaks for the grill.

We have a busy night tonight with bathroom stuff, so dinner will most likely be takeout. What I have not done in awhile is actually craft. A combination of things for that, still grieving my Dad and still can't believe he is gone, the bathroom remodel and the stress with that. If SO works on Saturday, I may head to the basement and see what I feel like doing. Same, taylortroop - stormy this afternoon

Slept terribly last night so dragging today. Not sure what's for dinner, feeling like punting and ordering in- haven't had pad thai in a while so maybe that - we'll see and maybe one of the kids will jump in.

The only one where I could open my eyes was the breast one, where I was laying face down and they had a mirror arranged so I could see out onto the room. I have to do an open one when I had my final MRI to check the pancreatic cyst which are gone. There’s no way I could do a closed one. I had a panic attack in one when I was in the hospital two years ago

Had my six month med check up today with my doctor. Blood work is great. Everything is good. Then I went to Trader Joe’s and Petco and Whole Foods. So the dog and I are set for a while lol. jeremysgirl. I’d head to UC. I think their covid tests are more accurate. But it could be something else.

Hi all! I'm sorry you are so sick. jeremysgirl. I'd go to urgent care if I were you. But it's a nice excuse to avoid dinner. Esp if you won't enjoy it! (Or if you have to bring all your own food anyway. I'd sit in my pajamas on the couch and eat my own food at home. Great pictures, cadoodlebug! Sending good thoughts to you, sueg. I had an mri and my head was mostly out, but I still had feelings of claustrophobia. I was very glad when it was over. Happy to hear your singing is bringing you joy. scrapmaven. I'm sitting at the coffeehouse, getting g ready to crack open a new book, one if 2 7 day loans due Tues...can I get them both knocked out and returned on time?? Probably. I love summer. OK, confession time. Yesterday I had planned to grill chicken to put on huge beautiful healthy salads for dinner with a baguette. We'll, I found a bug in the bread package (just bought yesterday morning). We were taking my car out for a little drive bc the AC is acting up. We looked at each other and confessed we both wanted McDonalds!! So that's what we did. So salads will be on for tonight. Kind of hot for the grill but maybe we'll get in the hot tub first and then do it. Last night we were in for a while...it's got fresh water and cooled down enough to be refreshing. I finished a book, and then we finished a documentary about the Murdaugh murders...crazy story. So here I sit, loving that I have nowhere to be. A frozen strawberry lemonade and a fun new book. I might get a muffin. Or wait and make some zucchini bread at home. Happy Thursday!

tmarschall - because of where the problem lies, this is an MRI of my skull, so my head has to be fully in the machine. The ones I had one my legs before my knee replacements were not so bad, just really loud. The one for my shoulder was awful and o almost hit the panic button. The only thing that stopped me was knowing they’d have to start all over, so I just kept deep breathing and praying the rosary!

sitting here in the fog and the wind.. love our summers!! back to doing some more scrapbooking and clearing out.
chicken/mushroom stirfry for dinner. with a salad.
the concert last night was at our symphony hall. it was a salute to Oscar Peterson, a jazz pianist. and the us premiere of his suite Africana. the level of musicianship was outstanding..though three hours in those seat was a bit much for my behind. it is not really my personal taste. but dh grew up on this music and loved it. so it was a date.. and I wore one of his mom's fancy jackets that I had brought home. (she was a quilter and sewer.. and this jacket had interesting decorative elements.).

I was in absolute agony back pain and it helped as I just kept telling myself I have to do this so they can fix me - hope all goes smooth for you tomorrow!

What have you been longing to do? Why not do it if it's w/in your grasp. What's stopping you? Absolutely nothing! I am loving being retired and the freedom to do what I want when I want! I'm not really a "hobby" person anymore ... when scrapbooking became more of a chore than fun I stopped ... that was years ago ... But I have one of those personalities where I can do little to nothing in a day and not feel guilty about it! I dropped off some paperwork at my bank this morning ... then got a few groceries ... Nothing else planned for the day and that's fine with me! Dinner is unknown at this time ... Oh, I think my girlfriend and I found her a place yesterday ... a brand new apartment in the same neighbourhood she is in now ... nice and close to me ... it is small but really nice ... now she has to seriously get rid of a ton of stuff!

One more update on all of the illnesses that came out of our group vacation. There are people who are still having GI issues 10 days in, so those folks have all been put on Cipro as it is believed to be bacterial, food-borne illness.
No idea why mine cleared quickly, but since my immune system routinely tries to kill me, maybe it worked out this time. 😂
Dh and I are deciding on dinner. We are between Mexican, Chinese, and sliders

leannec That’s great news! Don’t let her talk you into packing for her. cadoodlebug Your pictures are lovely but the one of you and your husband is perfection. You two are so dang cute! I am going through each room of my house declutterring and reorganizing. I haven’t lived in my house except for weekends for a year and a half. It’s very cathartic to finally be home and settle my butt back into my “normal” life. When I’m done I will start knocking things off my bucket list. Dinner tonight is leftover roast beef and vegetables with mashed potatoes. And a glass of wine. And a book. And good music. Can’t wait.

There are people who are still having GI issues 10 days in, so those folks have all been put on Cipro as it is believed to be bacterial, food-borne illness. This sounds like an e-coli infection. Did you do a Twinrix or Ambirix vaccination series? I realise that this is for Hep A / B but are recommended in Canada for people who travel to Mexico and Southern destinations. Please get a stool testing to see if this is e-coli. It can stay dormant in your body and when it is reactivated, cause horrible issues, especially cardiac issues.
