Did you aversions to ketchup or jelly? This just seems like something a parent would have fed you before you could decide if you liked something or not. I grew up on peanut butter and jelly. My mom thought it was wasteful to put both peanut butter and jelly on one sandwich. I didn't have a PBJ until I was 30. I thought my parents were frugal!

I guess I’m sheltered too, I will only put ketchup on a hot dog. Same - its my condiment of preference, and I will dot it with mustard if I am feeling fancy LOL. But it HAS to be ketchup.

I've not had a hot dog. Nor have I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Can't think the last time I had a burger, it's been ages.
My husband likes mustard, English and Dijon, so we have both in the house.

I absolutely hate the smell and looks of plain yellow mustard, so its a big no for me as well, but if we are talking about a German mustard, stone ground mustard, horseradish mustard, yes I will do that. But at the ballpark (stadium mustard, occasionally) Its ketchup and relish....

I have never eaten ketchup on a hotdog and never will try it. Sounds disgusting to me. I just spent the weekend with a friend who is a horribly picky eater. It was an experience!!

Growing up, my father did all the shopping and most of the cooking so we only had things he liked to eat and mustard on hot dogs and PBJ were not it.
I'm not the biggest mustard fan and I don't mind it certain recipes but I don't put any condiments on my hot dogs. I still haven't had a PBJ but it's mostly because I do not like peanuts and can not get passed the smell.

I have never had mustard on a hotdog or on anything. The smell of mustard truly disgusts me. Same goes with ketchup. Both are nasty.

My DH puts so much mustard on his hotdogs that it surprises him when I put a little bitty thin line of mustard on mine. I could take it or leave it, really, but I have to have ketchup.

I love a giant Costco dog with ketchup, mustard, relish and onions. So good!
We always have a variety of mustards in our fridge. We use them on sandwiches, bratwurst, baked ham, and even with our charcuterie boards.

It’s just preferences. Maybe food isn’t interesting enough for him to have expanded his palate.

I cannot stand mustard. I was a pretty picky eater as a kid and now consider myself only moderately picky, but mustard is one of my huge no's. Hot dogs and hamburgers get ketchup and cheese. I don't like lettuce/tomato/etc on burgers because I feel like I'm eating warm salad.
I don't eat PBJ either - just plain PB or with a little honey. That has been my preference since I was at least preschool age. Jelly/jam/preserves etc are a no, even just the look and smell. I most assuredly have sensory issues lol.

I’ve never had ketchup on a hot dog or a hamburger (or anything else). I’ve also never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Did you aversions to ketchup or jelly? This just seems like something a parent would have fed you before you could decide if you liked something or not. I grew up on peanut butter and jelly. I’ll say that as the parent of a kid who (mostly) dislikes peanut butter, my DD wouldn’t eat a PB&J even if it was the only food in the house when she was young. When she was one she got hives around her mouth after eating some peanut butter crackers so we were concerned she might have a peanut allergy. Her pediatrician recommended avoiding giving her anything with peanuts until we could get allergy testing when she was 3, which we did. We never really talked about it in a negative way because DH and I really like stuff with peanuts and peanut butter in it. When we finally ruled out a peanut allergy, she just wouldn’t eat the stuff no matter what. The only exception is Reese’s peanut butter cups. For some weird reason she will eat those but it probably wouldn’t be her first choice if she had another option. FWIW, she has always had a pretty strong idea of what she likes and doesn’t like and there’s no getting one over on her. If there’s an ingredient in something that she doesn’t like there’s no way she’s eating it. ETA: If I make rice krispy bars with peanut butter in them and chocolate on top, she WILL NOT eat even one! I don’t get it but whatever. More for me, LOL!

I love mustard. All mustards. I love a Chicago dog, a chili top with ketchup and mustard, dog with sauerkraut, relish and K&M. All ways for a dog. What I have not seen on here is mayo. My ODS like mayo on his. My brother also. Since then I have had a few others tell me they like mayo on their hot dogs. To me, that is just a nope.

So a peanut butter sandwich is great. A jelly sandwich is great, but the two shall not be combined! LOL My kids never had a PB&J until they went to someone else/s house and had one. I also do not like spaghetti sauce on or mixed in with the pasta (but alfredo is ok). Salad dressing on the side is preferred. I don't tolerate a lot of casseroles. I don't remember my mom ever making one as I grew up, so that might be why. But I dislike the texture of hamburger mixed in with anything. I do make things like Tater Tot casserole, because my family loves it -but I mostly pass on it.

to quote Dirty Harry.."you know what does bother me? You know what really makes me sick to my stomach? ..'nobody, I mean nobody puts ketchup on a hot dog!" I love a lot of French's yellow mustard on my dog. Ketchup is disgusting on a hotdog. I can't watch anyone eat it like that because it grosses me out lol. When we go to our county fair the only thing I eat is giant corn dogs, with a cup of mustard to dunk it in after each bite. Ahh, I love that spicy heat only mustard can give. I love Heinz on my fries, on hashbrowns but that's about it. But yeah, my fridge holds at least 4 or 5 different kinds of mustards at all times, each having their own use. Hot mustard, Dijon, brown and grainy. Love it all. Mustard....mustardy mustard...mmmm hmmm good!

My dh has never ever had peanut butter and jelly... I'm with your DH, yuck! But I do eat a Jif-to-Go peanut butter thing for an afternoon boost every day.
