I am in agreement with AC. What’s the point of mustard. I like hotdogs with ketchup.

I must live a sheltered life too because I have never eaten a hotdog or bratwurst with mustard on it. I hate mustard. ***HATE*** it, so why would I put it on anything?
ETA: I only put ketchup on hotdogs and ketchup and cheese on a homemade hamburger. If I go to Burger King I’ll get a Whopper Junior with no onions. It doesn’t come with mustard. It does have onions (which I leave off), ketchup, mayo, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and cheese if you choose to add it. We usually never have lettuce or tomatoes at home and I never think to add the mayo or pickles.

How is that being sheltered? I hate mustard on a hotdog or a hamburger. Maybe he tried it once and hated it.

Anderson Cooper is a self-admitted VERY picky eater ... he makes it clear that he eats like a 5 year old!

I can understand if you don’t like mustard, but that doesn’t seem to be his case, he just says, what’s the point if you like ketchup. I wonder if he only puts ketchup on his hamburger. Going by his logic, if you like ketchup, what would be the point of adding mustard or mayo, or lettuce, onions, tomatoes, etc?

Ketchup on a hamburger and mustard on a hot dog. The only exception is a foot long dog from Ann’s Dari-Creme then it’s chili, cheese and raw onion.

Mustard and sauerkraut, if available, are my favorite way to eat a hot dog.
Ketchup and mayo on a burger.

I've tried enough stuff and been disappointed by it to mostly order what I know what I like. Makes life somewhat easier, sort of like a uniform for food.

NOT a mustard fan AT ALL but even I (condiment hater that I am) know that people eat hotdogs with mustard.

I do love Costco hotdogs, though. SO.DAMN.GOOD. I was just at Costco today and had to tell myself that I was buying hotdog buns and have hotdogs at home so I didn't need to get a Costco dawg. If I was by myself I TOTALLY would have gotten one but I had a cranky husband and annoying kids along for the fun.

I don't need to taste it to know I won't like it. Mustard smells awful to me. Same with horseradish, root beer, licorice, pickles. I think I tried horseradish once, sipped root beer once on accident, but haven't even tried the others.

I guess I'm the odd one ~ I like mustard and onions on my Costco Polish Dog UNTIL they did away with them. Worst move ever by Costco. But I don't eat hot dogs at all any longer.
And on my hamburger? A smear of mustard, mayo and a slice of tomato. Yum!

No mustard on anything here, but I don't put ketchup on my hamburgers either! I saw that last night. He did try the mustard though.
It frequently surprises me what he has missed in life. In ways he seems so innocent...

Mustard on hot dogs and just enough in potato salad to give it a yellow tinge. Ketchup to dip fries in but now days I use ranch dressing. Ketchup in/on nothing else.
Those things last so long in my house I end up tossing them and buying new when they out date. Well, maybe not the mustard. That stuff lasts forever no matter what the new fangled date says.

My dh has never ever had peanut butter and jelly...
Ive tried to get him to taste and he is not interested.. he doesn't really like jelly... and the thought of it with peanut butter grosses him out... so he will eat pb in a sandwich by itself... but never with jelly
Nothing really to do with hot dogs n mustard... just my contribution.... lol

Good lord, people! Mustard is one of my 5 food groups. Yellow, brown, Dijon, seeded, horseradish, honey. Adore mustard. Have been known to eat it by the spoon. Mayo goes nowhere near hot dogs or hamburgers and usually not even potato salad. Prefer a French style potato salad with, yes, mustard, oil and vinegar.

I’m not so much picky with which condiment I put on a hot dog as I am picky about the specific hot dog and the quality of the condiments.
I’m fine with mustard but it has to be a good mustard on a good Italian beef ir at least kosher hotdog. I’m also fine with ketchup but again it has to be a good ketchup on a good Italian beef or at least kosher hotdog.
The best hot dog I ever had had both. It was an Italian hotdog in Chicago with mustard, ketchup, onions, relish, slab of pickle, the works. The Italian hot dogs from our local butcher where I used to live were as good but since I didn’t deep fry them the other was ‘the best’ I’d eaten.
When I was pregnant with my first I had some severe kosher hot dog cravings. Lol

I know this article is 20 years old, but I love how Malcolm Gladwell dug into the perfection that is Heinz ketchup: www.newyorker.com/magazine/2004/09/06/the-ketchup-conundrumLOL, it relates to the mustard discussion as well! 🤣
