Justin Timberlake was arrested for DWI last night/early this am. In his mug shot, you can tell he is drunk - though he did refuse the breathalyzer test so I guess we can't definitively say how drunk he was. He did fail the field sobriety test the officer gave him. Knowing he was drinking and driving, does this change how you feel about him? I, obviously, don't know him, but I have heard about his struggles with alcohol before now. But it makes me sad that he'd choose to drink and drive. Im not a JT fan really but for some reason, his arrest makes me sad for him. He hasn't publicly said anything about this yet, but I imagine he will have to soon as he is on his World Tour. So whats your thoughts? pagesix.com/2024/06/18/entertainment/justin-timberlakes-bloodshot-glassy-eyed-mugshot-released-after-hamptons-dwi-arrest/__________________ EDITED : I want to make it clear --- I think he is a dumbass who knew better. And he should get whatever the law allows for a punishment. When I said I was sad for him I used the wrong word. Disappointed would be a better word.

Absolutely no excuse for drinking and driving…for anyone.

I have no feelings about him at all, but I am happy he did not hurt anyone. I have to say he has the resources to get the help he needs or even a driver....if he wanted to. This may be mean, but I don't feel sad for him at all. He is a full grown man and he makes his own choices. Ok maybe I do have feelings about him, lol.

No excuse at all. As was said in one of the comments I read, he could take an Uber to the moon and back if he wanted to—why would he drive drunk? I’m just glad he didn’t hurt anybody.

As someone who has lost two family members to a drunk driver, it is unacceptable. He certainly knows better. He was lucky he didn’t hurt anyone but himself. They should make an example of him and give him a hefty punishment, but I know they won’t.
One thing about drunk drivers - they will do it again and again.

I'm not that familiar with his personal life, but my daughter has a strong dislike of him. I've always thought he's had a good charisma that just comes naturally with his acting and singing. I always liked him on SNL.
It's not great what he did, terrible actually.

As a DUI/DWI survivor of a horrific crash that should have killed me, I have deleted his music from my Amazon Music account.
So yeah.

I don’t have any feelings about him one way or the other but we were out of town this past weekend for a wedding. One night we had dinner at the bride’s parent’s house and there was drinking. Second night was rehearsal dinner with drinking. Third night was the wedding and reception and more drinking. We Ubered every night there and back. I will never understand why people with plenty of money can’t do the same.

The guy who hit a cousin, that was like his 13th DUI. He was *finally* in trouble. If I would have died, the guy would have gotten maybe 5-10 years and served maybe 2.

I feel for his wife and kids. And I can't understand for the life of me, why don't these rich celebrities just hire someone to drive them? It's SO simple. I don't condone anyone drinking and driving, but in these cases where you can afford ANYTHING in life, why risk your own life? I'm not really a JT fan. I like some of his music but only a handful. I do think he is very talented but otherwise, eh.

Drinking and driving is despicable behavior. This day and age there are so many options for ride shares and he definitely has the means to get someone to drive him wherever he wanted to go.

I don't know any of his music.
There are so many options (uber, lyft, taxi, call a friend or family member, take the bus, etc..), there is no reason at all for anyone to drive while under the influence.
Shame on him.

He’s old enough to know better.
He’s also in a financial situation where it should never have happened. Even if he didn’t want to taxi/Uber/whatever with a stranger for privacy reasons, he could have paid anyone on his staff, that he already knows and trusts, to sit next to him all night and drive him home. Even hire a personal bartender to travel with him while he’s on tour.
So needlessly stupid.

I didn't really have any thoughts about him before. Now, I'm just relieved that his poor decision didn't harm anyone else, and I hope he'll get help if he needs it, and not repeat this behavior in the future, because if there's a next time, he may very well hurt someone else.

My thoughts on him prior to this weren't great. The bit I read out of Britney Spears' autobiography about the abortion he insisted upon and his treatment of her during and after is terrible.
As for a DWI? Google says he's worth ~$250 million. Absolutely no excuse for being a dumbass and not having someone else drive him. If it was his pride, then I hope this bit of karma gets through to him.

I thought he was the annoying little bro in NSync, but I liked his SexyBack album. I liked when he was on SNL, and his relationship with Jimmy Fallon. But I never understood his relationship with Jessica Beil (not sure how that is spelled) and then when all the Britney stuff came out, I chalked it up to a kid who made mistakes that didn't want to impact a budding career, or have his star permanently hitched to someone as unstable as BS (not sure if she was unstable back then). His new album has come out and I dont think is as successful, so I suspect he is struggling with that feedback. No excuse tho for someone who is so rich to get behind the wheel drunk. And then to deny a breathalyzer? I'm sure he'll just get a slap on the hand, but I hope he gets help.

What a fool. One of those guys who thinks "I'm okay to drive; I just had a few". I refuse to take his celebrity into account. He should be treated as any other idiot who thinks they're "okay to drive" after drinking.

And the caliber of friends he hangs out with. The article I read quoted one friend as saying "This will ruin his tour" and two others begging for the cop to release him, after the cop didn't even recognize him, because he was too young to know who JT is.

Not sure about the state he was in, but in Texas if you refuse a breathalyzer you get an automatic suspension. But being he is rich, that probably wont affect him much.

I think that no one should be driving and drinking. Get a driver or call an uber.
With that said, the media frenzy on this is also making me sick. (The NY Times just had to mention that his latest album didn't do so well.). It just reminded me of how the media stirs up shit just to sell copy.

I am 59, and I wouldn't recognize him either. Nor would I recognize 75% of the celebrities or the >> *think* they are celebrities. If a celebrity isn't on my love or like list or in the constant headlines....then I wouldn't have any idea who they are or recognize them.
