I was married to a Greek and the tradition was the oldest was the fathers name reversed. James Peter, Peter James. That would have stayed the same. I would have given my second son my maiden name and my moms maiden name but it was three hard C sounds.
for a daughter that never materialized, we would have done Katherine Elizabeth, or Victoria Elizabeth, calling them either Katie or Tory .

So is her name actually Margaret? Or are teachers making the assumption when they see Maggie on the roll, that it must be short for Margaret? I really like the name Maggie. One of my friends from my teenage years named his daughter Maggie Mae, and I thought it was such a cool name. I *think* Mae is the middle name, and not part of a hyphenated first name. Her name is Margaret Anne. I felt like she needed to have a "grownup" full name because she wouldn't be a little girl forever. I also have a Margaret who we call Maggie. She's an adult and will always go by Maggie.

I love my daughter's name - Kirsten (keer-stin, not khur-stin). It's the perfect combination of unusual and common! My boys are Ryan and Andrew. I'd stick with all those names.

My Maggie is a professional classical musician. Maggie is fine!

I have 4 boys, and like their more traditional names we gave them. If I had a girl, I really love the name Grace.

My kids names are Daniel and Lara. They are in their 20s and I still would choose the same names. I did not have a favorite list of names, we chose the name while I was pregnant and we both liked the names.

When we were first dating I told him I had always dreamed of a lot of kids. He came from a family of eight kids too so we decided that we would start with six or seven and re-evaluate as health and finances worked out. We were far to greedy and never had any but we always had a list of names on the fridge and top of the list was Trevor James Zachary Issaiah Rhys Thaddeus for boys and Candace Joy or Lyric Elizabeth

I honestly don't know. I had one child and I debated so much over her name. I couldn't even commit until i saw her face. And now she has legally changed that name. Sigh.
