That’s a great resource for cards I would write for my own purposes. Thanks for sharing I’m going to post my card insides on the sharing thread since I just spent another crafty afternoon writing messages.

finally had a chance to scrap tonight and finished up the kitty layout that has been sitting on the desk all week. Now there's another layout sitting on the desk that just didn't come together tonight. I think I'll look for different papers when I go back to it.

I got some scrapbook goodies from Stampin Up this week - spent way too much on the pre-order plus some other things I wanted and I need to get them organized this weekend. I have a couple of stamp sets to put together and I bought some envelopes on Amazon that I hope to use for Paper Pumpkin kits vs the huge pile of boxes I have started to accumulate - I bought several older kits and refills plus some other kits. I'm hoping to feel crafty this weekend and get something created. I was hoping to get a kit in the mail from my upline - that I won in an on-line class. I ordered the ink pads for it but it's not here yet

The only crafty thing I did this evening was put my recent pages into page protectors. I hope to finish a couple of LO's this weekend, and I need to put together a couple of cards I need for next week.
What is included in a paper pumpkin kit, @scraper100? Are they precut pieces, or full sheets to cut apart, or... I occasionally pick up card kits to have something on hand to create cards quickly, but have never had one of SU!'s.

Shakti - thanks for the greetings link! No crafting for me. It's hard during the week. This weekend I am going to start my photo sorting project which will spur some creative mojo.

Paper Pumpkin kits (usually) have card bases, precut pieces, embellishments, stamps, an ink cube, and adhesive to make three cards each of three designs. I say usually because sometimes they make treat boxes or tags or something instead, They are great for quick/on-the-go crafting and were what I took on vacation for a while. If you have more time you can find lots of alternative cards to make with the supplies on Pinterest and Facebook. It is a subscription. It’s easy to skip a month, but the peeks are minimal. I find it a little tricky and I’ve regretted my decision sometimes. Luckily there’s a lively FB market in older kits. I posted a completed older one on the card sharing thread not long ago.
SU also sells some kits without subscription. IME these are less likely to have stamps/ink and use preprinted sentiment die cuts or stickers. They also added some additional quick and easy cardmaking products this year.

It is supposed to be a crafting-free weekend for me. I snuck a Recollections birthday card kit out of the craft room closet last night and spread it out on the desk in my son's room. It isn't going to Maine because it has stamps and ink. But I really, really feel the need to do something crafty after this week....

Sorting photos sounds like a daunting job, christinec68. Unless, of course, you find a set that gets your creative juices flowing! I find that my creative side does not often come out to play when my organizing side is in charge. Any reason this is supposed to be a craft free weekend, Shakti? Isn't there a saying, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"? Hope you get to relax a bit after your hectic first week at work. just posted the last two LO's from last Wednesday. I have a few August/September cards I need to put together before Wednesday. Hadn't started on them yet, as I was not sure when our dd's family was planning to come out to the farm, but they just texted to say it would be tomorrow. So I may get those cards done today, yet...

I'm riding with my mom up to Maine this afternoon because she doesn't want to arrive alone and her friend doesn't fly in until Monday. I will take the train home tomorrow morning. But that bite out of my weekend means little adulting time today and little crafting time tomorrow. And it's a weekend where I'm still getting the hang of getting more of the adulting done on the weekend because I don't have all week.
EtA: Also, because the craft room is the guest room and my mom is staying in it -- that's why I snuck a kit out to play with -- too difficult to quickly get a whole bunch of separate supplies organized unless I'd done so ahead....
Was the SU kit info helpful?

Was the SU kit info helpful? Yes, thanks. I don't need another subscription (have cancelled all of mine over the years since I don't end up using alot of the stuff in the kits). And I really don't need any stamps, since I barely use the multitude I have. I was thinking of picking up a couple of card kits--one for Christmas cards, one for birthdays--just to have on hand in a pinch.

Interesting start to the weekend here! Went into the guest bedroom to let Mr. Tigger kitty outside. The carpet was soaking wet! I went into the utility area underneath the stairwell that is the adjacent wall to the bedroom. We are on a well and the pressure pump is located in that space. A copper T pipe had a huge stream of water coming out of it! ACK!!! Came upstairs and announced we have a problem. DH was in the middle of cutting his own hair with the hair clippers that decided to have a slight malfunction. DS25 went downstairs and checked and came up to say "She's not wrong". DS25 emptied the room, and spent over an hour using our home carpet cleaner to suck 16 gallons out! Call into the emergency plumber as ALL of our water was shut off. He arrived 2.5 hours later. I also called our insurance and they were to send my contact info to Servpro, the mediation company. When I hadn't heard from them when the plumber was done I called Servpro directly. Turns out they were not given my phone number or email! So they showed up at 5 pm and are leaving two hours later. With our previous experience with water damage from a hot water heater in Oregon that had restoration going for about 4 months . . . including repairs in the room where the water heater was located, tile in the front entry way, and all the LVP replaced in the hallway, dining room, and kitchen. Water is in the walls, under the shower, and of course the carpet. SOOOO now we do have water, 2 dehumidifiers, and 6 air movers.
During all of that I did make a card for my DT obligations. Wrote up two blog posts as well.
Sounds as if we are all doing our best to get a little crafting time despite our adulting duties of life.

Oh no angel97701 !! Water is such a nuisance when it doesn’t stay inside the pipes like it’s supposed to It sounds like you have some experience in handling these things. I hope there wasn’t anything important in that room besides Mr Tiggy ?

Today’s batch of cards got another sentiment I mashed up from examples I found online: “I just wanted to send some cheerful thoughts your way to brighten up your day” with a stamped “have a beautiful day.”

Oh no, angel97701--water damage is no fun! Hoping your insurance clicks in quickly and you find some reliable people to do the reconstruction. When we had water damage 16 years ago, the insurance were wonderful. On the other hand the "disaster services" were more of a disaster...

Life has been out of sorts lately and crafting hasn’t been my top priority. I’m just getting to some now. I went to the Scrapbook Expo this weekend. It seemed much smaller this year and I really didn’t get much. I have to remember that it caters mainly to card makers and not the same style of scrapbooking as I do. I did one day of a crop there which was fun and had stayed the night before at the hotel and did some Crafting in the room. Now I just want to get back to it more at home

Angel the water damage sounds awful not the way to start a weekend. I hope that the cleanup and restoration isn’t too bad. It sounds miserable.
I got a bit of organizing done. I still need to put two stamp sets together and then I need to start organizing my card kits. They really are great to just grab and go. Grab a stamp block but everything else is included unless you decide to change them up. Oh and I have a layout I want to finish. I just need to pull the paper and dies I will rewatch the class when I get everything cut - actually I may watch that part as well.

Sorry I haven't been regularly chatting! We've been busier than normal - mostly good (but also car malfunctions, trying to sell a house, covid) and as an introvert, when my battery gets low, I even find responding on the boards intimidating! angel97701 , I'm so sorry about the leak and water damage. BTDT! But can I just say how nice it is to hear that DS25 was there to help mop up, and sprang into action for you! boymom5 - sometimes we all just need a break. I hear you on the events that aren't the right "vibe" but am glad it helped you find the itch to scrapbook with us again! I'm grateful for 2 peas because I often feel alone in my hobby, but online I realize there's still lots of us! This weekend I am going to start my photo sorting project which will spur some creative mojo. How are you doing with this? I have finally started sorting, sizing, editing and printing my Florida trip pictures...from April 2023 That's how far behind I am, and it has been a BIG BIG year since then. I got through half the trip this weekend, and have had to order more photo paper I am delighted at the trip photos and memories, and can't wait to start scrapping them, but have firmly told myself that I will not start until they are all printed and I can organize the whole album properly. Work before pleasure. So far I've printed 42 8.5x11 pages of photos - most have 5 photos/page, but several are 8 3x4's on a page. Maybe 250 photos? DH says it will take me a year to scrap the trip once they're printed and he's probably right

Thank you all, yes we have experience with water damage, twice actually. Both times water heaters in our Oregon home, and we had 3 water heaters. The home was old enough that there was not disaster pans under them. First was leak in the heater itself . . . during Covid and we did not go into the room. Didn't discover it until it had been leaking long enough to make the hallway LVP bow up, and we finally figured out why. Our disaster and rebuild was all done by one company, the best in our area AND owned by a friend--well actually their son was a classmate of DS18's in elementary school. The second was a master and happened while we were traveling for three weeks, That one had mold problems as well.
This one was much easier--found it probably withing the first 24-36 hours, got a plumber out to fix the major leak in the pipe going into the pressure tank (clean water), and got remediation going. It drying well in both rooms. Servpro came by today.
Loaned our 16ft enclosed trailer to the church for storage for the rummage sale a month away. It was requested this morning, since DS25 is available on Sunday to help, we did it this afternoon.
Sharing garden at church also landed me big bunches of organic basil, which is now dairy free pesto in my freezer. Now have to go plant the irises I got as well. Plus finally warm weather, yeah! Time on the water tonight?

kitbop your photos sound intimidating! I don’t think I could start with that many photos waiting for me… I would have to do it a little at a time. And it sounds like you have a LOT more going on. I got some more donation Christmas cards stamped and written in today, and I started loading up the box so I could see how many more I need to do to get it ready to go. With all the cards I’ve made and repurposed this year I should already have a full box and then some. I just need to get some more insides done, enough for this box, not all of them, and then I can get back to the fun stuff.

angel97701 - I am glad this leak wasn't as bad as others and very impressive getting the card done for your DT assignment while all that was happening. grammadee going though pictures, especially older ones like these, reminds me of stories I'd love to tell. kitbop, I didn't get too far at all. My free time this weekend got away from me. We got a late start on Saturday which barely gave me enough time to make things to bring to my SIL's last night. We got home a little later than I expected last night so I was pretty tired today. I had to do some meal prep and pack up meat for the freezer. I'd be in bed now but I am waiting for a chicken dish to cool off enough for the fridge.

Happy to hear that this leak seems to be resolving more straightforwardly, angel97701 . Nice to hear about folks eking out more crafty time, returning mojo, etc. I'm not too pleased with the Recollections birthday card kit I got a few weeks back. I was trying to fill out a cart to get $10 off $50, so I don't exactly regret it, but even after the discount(s), it was still more than twice what I paid (at half price) a couple weeks later for some AC card kits at Joann -- which make twice as many cards. Don't like that the die cuts are mostly gold-foiled while the stickers are silver holographic. The 10 card bases are patterned and 6 1/4 x 4 1/2. It includes exactly 9 sheets of 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 "scrapbook" (ie very thin) paper, 4 patterned, 5 plain. I find myself trying to come up with designs that will look good, not mix silver with gold, and make good use of the "precious" included paper. And then start feeling fairly hostile about the whole thing. I hope the AC kits come together better, though even if I struggle with them as well, they were still a better deal. And I'm sure that I will manage to pull 10 birthday Cards for Cubs out of the Recollections one. I just won't enjoy it or do it again!

Good Monday morning. Wishing you all a marvelous week!
Leaving tomorrow to visit with my ds's family, so today is one of wrapping up little details here, doing laundry, getting organized. I need to process some veggies we picked yesterday and have them safe in the freezer before I leave. Yesterday, I managed to finish the cards I need to take with me this week. And then dgs made a couple of cards for his cousins as well. If I have some time and energy I to spend in my craft room, I should probably put some stuff away and clear off my counters to that when I come home I will feel like playing in here.

I'm not an introvert--but when my battery is low I don's spend much time responding either. Way to go with the photos! I's still working on our Hawaii album from 2021. I've printed a day at a time to keep going. Right now I'm stuck in the middle of the USS Missouri and the Flight museum at Pearl Harbor. Many photos that are scrapped in pocket pages. I still have more to print, and just haven't at the mojo to even do that! Life has been out of sorts lately and crafting hasn’t been my top priority. I’m just getting to some now. NOW where is MY creative MOJO for scrapbooking? Just cards for me.
grammadee Leaving tomorrow to visit with my ds's family, so today is one of wrapping up little details here, doing laundry, getting organized. That is kind of where I'm at . . . we leave Wednesday morning for the West Coast. DH is going to SEA and will drive back with DSD. She planned a longer vacation so she can bring her dog. She has a horrific time finding a dog sitter and he can't be boarded because Strider is a 115# black intack Male German Shepherd. Airlines no longer fly dogs of this size either, she checked. DH's back is still only about 30% so I hope he does OK.
I'm on DH's flight and from MSP to SEA then will go on to PDX. I will visit my Mom and take care of my bio-identical HRT. The compounding pharmacist I have been using for years is the only one in the US that does his proprietary method of sublinguals. After much research and actually talking to the pharmacist I made the decision to go to Oregon every year, see a naturopath to refill the Rx, and have it mailed to my Oregon family who then forwards it on to me. Can't cross state lines Good thing I still have family to visit in Oregon. Today was the first day of school - it's my youngest's senior year so...a little bittersweet. Ah, DD's last first day of high school! Lots of memories to be packed in the next year.

grammadee - have a fun visiting your DS and family. Shakti - yea, I don't like the sound of that gold/silver combo. angel97701 - safe travels to you and dh! Linda - what a bittersweet day. I hope your DD had a great day and has good year! Not much is new here. I'm still trying to cook and/or pack up the groceries from the weekend. There's one pack of chicken I need to deal with. I regret not getting more of it done yesterday but I just didn't have the energy. Oh well. G'night all!
