S/O How are your appliances?

We redid our kitchen about 6 years ago and replaced all the appliances. So, ours isn’t old yet. Before that, we had a 20 year old fridge, oven and stove. All worked fine. Our current fridge, KitchenAid is so noisy. I can’t wait to replace it.

We recently had to replace a Sub-zero refrigerator and a new one was all that would fit. Ouch. The old one was over 20 years old.

Our dishwasher is a 12-year-old Bosch. They last a really long time.

I moved into my condo less than two years ago ... my appliances are all Samsung and not that old ... I do not expect them to last ... I don't love any of them ...

In my old house I had an LG fridge that was awesome!  I miss it!

We completely remodeled the kitchen in 2013. Installed a Bosch dishwasher (lasted 7 years); a Kitchenaid French door fridge (lasted 6 years); a Kitchenaid 30" double oven (hated it, finally replaced it 2 years ago); a Wolf 36" gas rangetop (still going strong).

The dishwasher was replaced with a Cove (SubZero) and it has been fantastic.

The fridge was replaced with an LG french door fridge. In the 4 years we had it, the compressor was replaced 3 times, the motor for the ice maker was replaced 4 times and didn't work at all the last year we had it. It was replaced with a pair of SubZero columns and they have been awesome. Was worth the long wait to get them. Love my LG washer/dryer but will never have one of their fridges again.

The double ovens were replaced two years ago with a Wolf 30" oven and a 30" Speed Oven (microwave/convection combo). Again, absolutely no issues and love them.

My refrigerator is probably 20 plus years old.  It still worked great.  I did recently refresh the paint on it, but other than that, I was happy with it.  It is currently not in use at the moment because the woman that I bought this house from left all the appliances here, from refrigerator to washer and dryer.  She even left her toaster oven for me. As soon as I locate my washer, dryer, and fridge in the box jungle in my garage, I will move them in and donate the items that were here.  My washer and dryer were only two years old and had features that I really miss.  I already have a garage fridge/freezer so I don’t need the one currently in the kitchen at all.  I’m sure I can find good homes for them.

At our primary home, our kitchen appliances (side-by-side fridge from 2007, slide-in gas stove and dishwasher from 2010) are all Kenmore. Love them all! We have a Speed Queen washer and dryer which I also love; we got them in 2018 to replace a set that were over 20 years old.

The big joke is the “temporary” countertop microwave we got secondhand from my FIL in 1997. He got it for his apartment when he divorced my MIL a couple of years prior, before he moved in with his (now) wife. Well, we just replaced that microwave after 27 YEARS. And, it still works! The latches on the door kept sticking so you needed 2 hands to open it, so we decided it was finally time.

At our lake house, it had all LG appliances that were about 4 years old when we bought it in 2019. The microwave and French door fridge are fine. The clothes dryer is fine but I do hate the washer, we’ve had nothing but issues with it but I won’t replace it until we move here full-time. We recently replaced the stove with a GE Profile; we upgraded our heating system from oil to propane and got the stove at the same time. The old range was an electric glass top that had 2 broken burners and heated so unevenly, I HATED it. We also just replaced the dishwasher (completely croaked last summer) with a Bosch; I literally just ran it for the first time last night. The red indicator light that is cast onto the floor to let you know it’s running was a nice bonus for cat entertainment!

My house was built in 2005. All of my appliances are original except for the fridge and stove/oven.
I only replaced the fridge bc the freezer handle broke off and there was no way to replace. It was an LG french door with bottom freezer style. I replaced my range because I wanted an upgrade. The onld and new are both Frigidaires.
My dishwasher is also a Frigidaire and it will not die! I've been waiting for it to kick the bucket so I can get one with a 3rd rack, but it's still going strong.
My washer/dryer set is Maytag. I will be devastated when it quits working.

We had to replace all of our kitchen appliances over the course of 2023 so the oldest of them is a year and a half old and the newest is 6 months old.

Our washer and dryer are on the older side, but still working well!

I have a Bosch and BFF has one. We have different price points but they are both amazing. 

I have left them (newer) behind each time I've moved so I can't say how long they all have lasted other than the stuff I bought here is now 6 years old, no problems.

I have mentioned here before that my mom is still using the 1940 refrigerator that my dad's best friend's mom gave her in the 70s. She really loves antiques and it still works great.

I know it was a hard day for her when she had to give up the Roper 1920s gas stove in the 80s. I can't remember if it died or if we had to leave it behind when we moved. It did look pretty cool.



ETA I went searching and apparently the stove was more like 1940s? I'm not sure, I thought it was older but anyway it looked like this. Only I thought it had a fancier little plate that said "Roper" on it.

Our washer & dryer are 24 years old, bought them new when we bought our house. We've had both worked on over the years because they have had easily fixable issues (the technicians have told us that if we ever want to get rid of them that they'd buy them from us).

We redid our kitchen in 2005 and got all new appliances. The fridge and microwave are still going strong. We had to replace the oven 5-6 years ago because the electronic panel went bad and there was no replacement available. The dishwasher died a year or two ago, I think it was also an electrical issue.

My fridge is probably 20+ years old, bought it used. Chest freezer is 25 + old but is questionable lately. Recently bought used washer, dryer was given to me used a few years ago. Stove was bought used 4 years or so n ago. Microwave is 5 years or so old.

We bought all new appliances when we moved into our current house 12 years ago because the owners didn’t leave anything.

We bought these Kenmore appliances at Sears, and knock on wood they have worked beautifully for 12 years. We got an awesome deal on a “buy more, save more” promotion. We even got a free 5-year extended warranty which we used twice (dryer, stove).

Of course, they will probably all die at the same time, and if so, I hope Costco has a good deal at the time LOL. I have no idea what brand I want when the time comes.
