Are you current with your preventative medical appointments?

I have been current with everything except for the colonoscopy. I. Having my first one this week after much hounding from my dr.

Absolutely - mammogram, smear, bowel screening, vaxxed to the max - Covid, flu, shingle you name it I have had it.

Dentist check last week all I need now is to have new glasses prescribed. 

that is it until next year and I will do it all again. 

Here in Ontario we get government letters when we are due for a mammogram and home poop test. I’m due for all - mammo is booked for the fall. But I’m no longer able to do the home test - my mother just had surgery for colon cancer so my doctor is sending me right to colonoscopy. Do not pass go do not collect $200. Lol

I will be...everything is scheduled for this fall. I need to catch up on some vaccinations.

Yes, I am up to date, as my GP is very diligent and just tells me that I'm due for this or that test/bloodwork, etc. I get tired of all the appointments, but I know it's all for the best. Mammogram is scheduled for next week. I thought that after the age of 75, they were no longer necessary, but Dr. says it's elective, but is recommended. I trust him so off I go!

I see my PCP quarterly for blood work. She does a chest xray and EKG annually.

I'm on the 3yr plan for pap smears and had one last summer

Colonoscopy and endoscopy also last summer - I'm on a 5yr plan there

Mammogram - I'm diligent about yearly

Dentist - three times a year for cleaning - I go in the end of the month again.

Vaccines - up to date

Podiatrist - at least yearly, more if needed

Like jeremysgirl - I take my health seriously and I'm fortunate to have good insurance.

Yes I'm all about preventative care. Plus, I'm lucky enough to have good health/eye/dental insurance, so it makes it easy to book appointments.

I still have my pap smear to go it is scheduled for September.
I just did my eye exam yesterday got terrible news I have 2 different cataracts in my right eye one in my left eye. They want to see me in December to address taking care of them. He told me my eyes have gotten significantly worse over this past year. Come back 2 hours later to pick up my new glasses and I couldn't see out of them and the fitting lady kept arguing with me. I pulled last years glasses out of my purse and she checked them which I can still see out of and said that yes he had lowered my new prescription. Of course Doctor was gone by this time I have to now go back and get reexamined and start over.
I failed my at home colonoscopy test so have to go to the have the main one done now.
Sometimes I hate getting old.

This summer I’ve had a mammogram, physical, colonoscopy, and my Pap smear is scheduled for later in August. I’m also caught up on my dentist visits which is saying something because I used to avoid the dentist like the plague!

Last year after my first colonoscopy, I posted about it here because they found a very large polyp that my doctor said would have been cancerous within a year or two. It was scary because I was 46 and the age used to be 50 not too long ago. Anyway I had to have another colonoscopy this year and they found another polyp, but it was small so now I don’t have to have another for 3 years.

Please get those checks ladies! Early detection is everything.

yes to everything and more!!! a couple of months ago, I went to find a new doc to get a skin check.. my old one had died.. and my appt is for dec!!! but I have an appt.. I have been doing my annual checks all summer!! and trying to find a new primary care doc cause mine is retiring.. that is super super tough in my town.

after about 40, I really made it a point to make and keep these types of appts. I have always gone to the dentist, and always up on vaccines .. I even have the records from my youth.. my mom was a nurse and kept great records.

No. My last doctor left the clinic a couple years ago and I need to find a new doctor which is a huge chore. They don’t make it easy. I think there are three female doctors at the clinic close to where we live that we’ve been going to, and two of the three are booked out months in advance. DD needed a school physical so I made an appointment for her with that doctor (and even that appointment ended up being about six weeks out), and quite honestly I just didn’t like her. So now I’m looking for someone else for both of us. The doctor I really liked and that I used to go to before we were forced to change insurance is no longer accepting new patients. 🫤

I’m all up to date with all vaccinations and dental cleaning though.

Yes…my doctor’s office is great about sending out reminders. I just need to get my shingles vaccine (although still recovering from shingles…I should not have put off getting that vaccine!)

Just had my well check-up and lab work.

At my age I no longer get paps or mammos. I do the yearly FIT screening.

Current with the dentist and go every 3 week to a chiropractor to stay well adjusted.

I see all Mr docs on a regular schedule and take care of annuls and preventative visits as needed. Vaccines are always up to date. Having several chronic conditions I think I see at least 3-6 appts a month for doc visits, lab or some procedure or test or something. It’s all just kind of a routine thing now so no worries!
