I've traveled more this spring and summer than ever. I flew to TX in April to see my sister and the eclipse. I drove to see my BFF in May and we went to a concert. DH and I went with 10 friends on a dive trip to Grand Cayman in May. We also went to the beach for a week with the same friends this month. I"m going next week on my annual girlfriend's trip to the beach. That will be all of my vacations for the year- cause that's a lot!
Once football season starts, we'll go to home and away games and that will be a busy time too.

Im spending a week in Ocean City, NJ, with my sister in Sept. This is our 2nd yr. My family went to SC, Myrtle Beach, in June. I didn't go as I can't fly and I take care of our pets. Im not much of a traveler with my health issues, but its a little over an hour by car to the Jersey Shore, and I make out ok.

We're taking a couple of extra days to do fun family stuff in the Black Hills when we drop off DS at college. Unfortunately he moves in during the 1st weekend of the Sturgis bike rally so we'll try to avoid some of the busiest areas. Hopefully the third time's a charm for weather--last year & then almost 10 years ago when we were in the Black Hills in August it was cold & rainy

Our favorite stop in Spain. Would love to spend a month there. . I loved it too - was only there 3 nights though. Curious what stood out for you? We are planning to do part of the Camino de Santiago walk next year…and end up back in San Sebastián. The beach area and the beautiful bay. While others in our group headed to shopping during free time we walked up the mountain and sat on a bench overlooking the Bay of Biscay. We were the only ones up there and it was so peaceful. Later, we returned to the hotel and took a nap. Found a little place to eat dinner and sat on the back patio. The waiter didn't speak any English but was adorable in his efforts to please us. I took his picture and it is in our scrapbook of the trip. Then at dusk we took the local bus back to the beach and there were still lots of people swimming. It was just magical. Two days after we left they had a huge film festival and the big attraction was A Star Is Born. We can see why people from all over Spain head to San Sebastian for holiday. Our waiter: The view from our bench:

We already did our 'traveling' for the year--11 days in Alaska Feb 23- March 5, and 32 days in Europe April 10-May 12. I really want to head to So CA to visit with DS and spend time at the beach--probably mid Sept. Wow those are some BIG trips!! Where did you go in Europe? Did you book through an agent? We are thinking of Europe next and I'm not sure whether to try to plan it myself or to use an agent.

We already went to Spain in March, just me and DH. Discussing a family trip over the holidays in December but it will most likely be domestic. DH and I are also taking a brief trip to NC this weekend to see our youngest play at the Brevard music festival. We were at Brevard for concerts 3 weeks ago. We go every year for our music, mountains fix. It is a wonderful, beautiful camp, and the level of musicianship is outstanding. Is your son in the high school orchestra?

We're having a staycation year because we need several home improvement projects to be done--porch repair, driveway sealed, and new exterior paint. At least the porch is being done first, so I can sit out there and enjoy it for the rest of the summer.

We've done a few Saturday trips (Baltimore, Gettysburg) and a few longer trips (one or two nights) to PA to see family, and may do a night in the Poconos in the fall. We've also talked about taking a super early Amtrak up to NYC for the day. We had talked about doing New England for our anniversary, but that may have to wait until next year. I just want to go somewhere. Anywhere. DH and I haven't done a more than one night trip in 7 years.

We took our kids to NYC for a few days before a short cruise to Bermuda at the beginning of June. We also spent several days at the beach at the end of June with my family as well as last week with DH's parents. School starts back in less than a month, so trying to get stuff done around the house before that gets here.

We did an NCL Encore Haven cruise in Alaska and it was amazing. If you cruise NCL, definitely book a Haven category! Alaska was gorgeous and Glacier Bay did not disappoint. I'm already trying to figure out where we want to go for 2025.

I've been to visit my Dad in FL twice. Going to visit the in-laws in Seattle in August. Finally doing our Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland trip in October, that was supposed to be Oct 2020... And visiting my Dad for Christmas. We also are planning to go to Kauai next March for DH's 50th, and back to FL for the opening of Epic Universe.
I have horrible wanderlust, and if I don't have trips in an active planning or booked state, I get twitchy. I had 3 months, early spring where I didn't have airfare somewhere and that was driving me crazy.

We've done a lot of travel already this year with more planned! Started mid-December to mid-January in Wyoming and then visited all the national parks in Utah, spent a couple days in Tahoe, then meandered up the coast of Oregon. In early April we spent a week in Upper Michigan, then flew to FL to do a 2-week cruise through the Panama Canal. Just returned from a 2-week trip down the Oregon coastline with a friend who had never been and met another friend in Salt Lake City for the George Strait concert.
In September, we are spending 11 weeks in the UK, Italy (northern & southern), southern Spain, Switzerland and ending with a Christmas Market river cruise in early December. I'll be home for exactly two weeks before we hit the road to go to Wyoming for Christmas and then to Texas for six weeks.
That will take us up to about the end of February 2025!
PS... I plan all my own travel.

We are thinking of Europe next and I'm not sure whether to try to plan it myself or to use an agent. We did a 10 day tour of Portugal, 11 days in Spain, and an 11 day tour of Budapest, Vienna, and Prague. The tours were through AAA--Trafalgar and Insight--we've used them before and really enjoyed all the tours through them. In between the tours we did Spain on our own, though the travel agent at AAA booked the hotels for us--4 days in Cadiz (fabulous little town on the southern coast of Spain) , 2 in Seville, and 5 in Madrid. Unfortunately, I got the flu so while in Seville and Madrid was just not feeling well, so much of our plan there didn't happen. But the tours and Cadiz were really fabulous! Our first trip to Europe was pre-pandemic--we did 42 days, we started with a 11 day tour of Italy (with AAA-- Trafalgar), the balance was on our own--4 days in Germany at a friends house, 5 days in Paris, a week in Barcelona, 3 days in Sevilla, 3 days in Torremolinos, 3 days in Malaga, 3 days in Nerja, 3 days in Granada. On this trip too, we had our fab AAA agent book hotels based on our request to be near sights we wanted to see in older hotels rather than chains. We were really happy with the entire trip.

I just returned last night from a 3 week trip with my sister to Iceland and Denmark.
The first week was spent on an Icelandic horse farm with 10 other ladies trekking around the countryside. The second week just the 2 of us rented a campervan and and toured around Iceland's Ring Road. The third week we flew to Copenhagen then rented a car, drove along the southern coast of Sweden to take a ferry to the Danish island of Bornholm. This is where our grandmother was born and her family lived here for hundreds of years at least. It is a popular island for Danes to vacation on, but not too many tourists. Then we returned to spend a few days in Copenhagen where our grandfather was from before flying home last night.
In two weeks my husband and I are going to Rockport Massachusetts for 2 weeks. I love whale watching and will be doing as many trips as possible out of Gloucester.

My family and I went on a three-week trip and cruise to Japan in June. Our group included my children, my parents, my siblings, and their spouses. It was an amazing experience.
I've enjoyed reading about all the trips! We are a well-traveled group!

We usually do a few small trips throughout the year, but this year we are going all out with one long vacation. We are flying to London and taking a cruise out of Dover, going to nine countries. We are staying in London for a few days after the cruise.

We already went to St. Croix for a week in March. Long girls' weekend to the Jersey Shore in June. Tomorrow girls' trip to Northhampton, MA and to see the Pretenders at Tanglewood. New Orleans beginning of August for a week (sigh, I know) for DH work function. Emerald Isle and a house on the beach end of August for a week with three other couples. After seeing Mary Ann Moss's Instagrams of her trip to the Cotswalds, that's what I'm dreaming about for next year. Wish I’d known you were at Jersey shore — that’s my turf! I loved Mary Ann’s posts about Cotswolds and am enjoying seeing all her wigs!

We went to Hilton Head in late April. We may do another short trip in the fall. It depends on a rennovation project that is supposed to start then. I'll let DH decide. I'm happy to stay home and I'd really rather put the money in that project this year.

I have been to California twice this year and unfortunately, that is it for vacation this year. (Other than short trips to visit friends). I also got roped into accompanying my best friend, her daughters and friends to a Billie Eilish concert that is 8 hours away so we will make a mini vacation.
