I'm not a big fan of socks and only wear them when the required footwear needs socks - like for exercise.
I have sensory issues and they make my feet feel weird.
What do you like or not about socks?

I like socks. My feet feel weird when not in them. Also, my socks aren't trying to take away my freedom of enjoying said socks.

socks... only when absolutely necessary. I wear chaco sandals and flip flops and barefoot as much as I can. I have fuzzy croc's and don't usually wear socks with them- sometimes I wear ankle ones. I wear my fake Uggs without socks- my students thought it was gross? I wear socks with my tennis shoes and with my doc Martens. Otherwise- not a fan.
My DS wears his socks inside out because he doesn't like the seam at the toes.

I only wear socks if I absolutely must - if there is snow on the ground or Im wearing boots. My feet feel like they are suffocating if I put socks on them. It is absolutely a sensory thing and I've tried thin socks, thick socks, cheap, expensive. It doesn't matter. Edited: like seaexplore I don't wear them with my Ugg boots. Just if I am wearing a leather boot.

I dislike socks, but I dislike cold feet more! So, when the weather allows, I dont wear socks.

I love socks because I feel the cold so wear them a lot. But I am still searching for the perfect pair

I don’t like shoes or socks and I didn’t know it was a sensory issue but you are right. It’s a congested feeling and my feet can’t breathe. Loose socks fall off and tight ones hurt. I don’t wear socks ever. (Well once a year maybe).

Thanks for tagging me, I'd hate to have missed this! I knit my own socks and I love every single thing about them. I've pretty much perfected the fit and wearing something I've made myself is so satisfying. I don't feel the same about shop bought socks though.

I don't like them. I really don't like them when they extend above my shoes, so I wear an athletic no show sock. There's too much walking in my job to not wear them at all and I can't wear sandals.
ETA: I love to knit socks that I never wear, I have a whole drawerful. My daughter will wear them though.

I'm a fan of socks all the time. If I'm home I wear them 95% of the time no matter the season. We have central AC and my feet get cold during the months that we run that (in the south, so 9 mths/yr) and for obvious reasons in the colder months. I also wear my bra from the time I get up until I put on my pajamas. It's more comfortable for me. So when I'm home you'll always catch me with a bra and socks on.

I go without socks as often as possible. I will wear them with walking boots/trainers/gardening boots. I really need the socks to fit snuggly. If there is any movement it annoys me. I hate it if my foot moves inside the sock. lainey, photos? the peas need to see your wonderful socks, the crafty peas know but others may not realise how fab your creations are

I love socks! I prefer ankle length. I used to love Bombas. But lately they have been developing holes a lot faster than they used to.

I never wear socks unless my feet are cold around the house. I'm barefoot or wearing sandals most of the time because I live in TX.

I love socks and buy a couple of new pairs every month. I have enough pairs of socks that I could go nearly four months without wearing the same pair twice. For me, the pleasure of putting on brand new bamboo socks is pretty unbeatable. 😄

Oooh, bra-wearing habits could be a whole other thread! If I put one on first thing, it's usually a sports bra because I'm heading out to exercise. Otherwise, now that my working hours are 4-7 PM, I sometimes don't put one on for a while! Once I do put on a bra, it generally stays on until I go to bed.

I like socks. I can't stand the feeling of carpet and tile on my feet. Ew!! Sensory thing for sure.

I need some no-show or barely-show socks that don't shrink up. My shoes are only 7 to 7.5 US, but whenever I buy the normal size socks for women (I think the default is medium?), the dang things seem to shrink so much. They almost hurt, making my toes curl. It doesn't matter if it's a random brand or a name brand.
Can anyone recommend some that don't shrink like that?

I work a 12 hour shift in tennis shoes... it used to be steel toes.. so glad i dont have to wear those anymore... so, i do wear socks... and then after work i change into a different pair when i go walk.. i also change into a different pair of tennis shoes..
I wear colorful socks.. they have all kinds of things on them.. candy, goats, puns, ice cream, cupcakes.. super colorful!!! and they never ever match... if i pull out 2 socks from the drawer that match i will switch one.. lmao.. my dh thinks its goofy... and they dont usually match the clothes i am wearing...
My current favorites are Wright foot socks... and I like "Boo-Bees"... they are bees with ghost sheets on them.. lmao... and "Flock Off".. really all the birds flipping the bird make me laugh... im like a child with my socks... but they make me happy!!

I do not like socks either. But, I hate stinky slip on shoes so I wear the little toe cap style socks in those. They only cover my toes.

So when I'm home you'll always catch me with a bra and socks on. ^^^ yes to the bolded part, and heck, no! to the bra... I take my bra off the minute I get home from work. I can NOT get to sleep if my feet are cold, so I wear thin ankle socks every night. (freezing cold feet is how I found out I had low thyroid, BTW.) I will go barefoot sometimes wearing sandals or slippers, but I don't like being barefoot outside any more. ETA: we are a mixed-sock family in our house; my DH is conservative about his socks (srsly, he hates the feel of carpeting on his bare feet), and I am more of a 'sock or not, whichever...' kind of person. ETA2: I miss the days of being able to find fun socks in any store-- back in the 90s-2000s. I have Dr. Martens and love wearing fun socks with them, but they're harder to find nowadays.

I even have a no wire sleep bra I swap my regular bra for. My girls need to be corralled! None of the getting stuck under the arm while I sleep business! I get dressed- always a sports bra, same style in like 10 different color combinations, wired, no uniboob- for the day and it stays on until I swap it for my sleep one.

I've found in the past few years, women's socks, largely made in China, have maxed out in size to about 8-9. I wear a 9 1/2 to 10 shoe, so I've taken to buying men's Adidas sport socks and men's merino wool socks from Costco. My Ondo no-show socks (which I vastly prefer to Bombas) seem to be OK for my larger size. So that's my summer, winter, spring sock saga. Summer is sandals unless exercising, so no socks, not even with Birkenstocks.

No socks for me EXCEPT I now have to wear compression socks. I did find the type with no toes which I barely tolerate. Stupid legs.

My go to everyday socks are white crew socks. Wear them everyday. I have different “sleep socks” for bedtime. I also wear a sleep bra. Best purchase ever. So much more comfortable since I’m large breasted.

I don't wear socks much. Not because I don't find them comfortable but because I absolutely hate sorting and folding them after washing. My DH has very few of the same brand and it takes forever to find pairs! I always wear lined moccasin type slippers.

I spent most of my life barefoot or wearing flat sandals. I now have plantar fasciitis and have to wear shoes. With an arch. So now I’m all about socks. I find that my heels get more dry so I slather lotion on my feet before putting on my socks. This grosses out DH. I prefer a mostly cotton blend, but they aren’t as stretchy. I also recently discovered that i was wearing socks that were too snug. Now that I wear larger socks, I get less ingrown toenails. But they also slip a bit. I haven’t found my unicorn socks.
