I grew up in South Florida and rarely wore socks or shoes when not in school. In high school wore Earth Shoes so had to wear socks or my feet would sweat and get my shoes slimy.
Also, had lots of broken toes, one so severe I needed surgery so like to keep my feet encased and secure. Now I wear Dr. Marten's every day to work so socks are a must. Plus they keep AC in the building I work in set at 20 degrees below zero.
When I am home, no socks but slippers to protects the toes and keep my feet clean.
As for bra's, forget it. Off the second I enter my house and not on again until I get dressed for work. I am not small either, I just don't care since no one except D/H, the dogs, fish and birds are around. If someone comes by I will grudgingly put on a bra. Hate them.

My sock inclinations have changed vastly as I have aged.
Between burning the bottoms of my feet and wearing corrective shoes as a toddler, I was firmly pro-sock for decades. Once I started playing sports, it was usually double-down on socks (socks plus those stirrup socklike things for softball, thin sock plus thick sock for basketball to prevent blisters and protect my skin from all the taping of my ankles).
To this day, I'm rarely totally barefoot but I have gotten more anti-sock over the past several years. If I'm not in the office, I'm probably in flips of some sort (current fave is Sketcher GoWalks). Even when I go in, my Hey Dudes are usually worn sans socks. The only time I'm guaranteed to put on 'foot clothes' these days is if I'm wearing boots. It's July in Texas so that's not likely to happen until at least fall.
So yes, a leopard can change her spots - I mean socks.

I like socks. But not the short socks because for some reason they all slip down below my heel when I walk. I feel like I’m the only one with this issue.

I’m late to the party here, but I dislike *anything* touching my feet, like dirt, carpet, wood, ewwwwww. Nice soft socks are a lovely barrier keeping that from happening. Also, my skin is very dry, especially on my feet, and socks help keep my feet from getting really dry.

Also late to this party... I like socks in the winter. I wear them around the house with my Birkenstocks, to keep my feet warm. And I wear actual shoes for work so I wear socks with those. I hate socks that cut into my legs though. I buy a pack of soft socks from Costco every year, ones that are maybe mid-calf or shorter. I absolutely hate the no-show kind because they always slip down. I only wear socks in the summer if I'm putting on my sneakers to go for a walk. Around the house in the summer I just wear Croc flip flops, or my Birkenstocks. I hate socks in bed because my feet get too hot. As for bras.... ugh. I rip mine off the second I get back in the house. And I never put it on until I need to leave.

In summer I only wear socks with athletic shoes. I prefer the look of the ones that practically disappear but since the actually disappear often, I usually wear an ankle sock for exercise.
From November through April, I wear socks all the time during the day. I'm cold natured. I keep enough covers on the bed and my electric blanket so I don't wear socks when I sleep. In the very coldest months which for us is usually just late December through maybe early February, I wear thicker socks and pad around in my Orthofeet fleece lined slippers and socks. The rest of the time I wear thinner socks.
My feet control my temperature, if they are cold or hot, the rest of me is also.
I buy socks for the feel and the thickness. I don't care for fancy patterns. It's all about function.

I am sock particular as well. I much prefer bare feet. I only wear short ankle style socks (unless hiking then they are taller). They just be on the thinner side, breathable, and not roll down. The KB brand I get at Costco are my faves. The color must match the shoe too lol…..white for white, grey for grey, etc

I like socks. I knit socks for myself and DH. My fave purchased socks are by Darn Tough (wool). I like their sizing and that the wool makes it so you can wear them multiple times before washing ( before you say yuck, try it with these socks). And my fav for workout are Avia low/no show that I've bought from WalMart. I like that they are available in a size smaller than what the charts say I wear and they don't get all stretched out and floppy.

I wear socks with my tennis shoes. I will wear socks around the house when it is cold. Most of the time I'm barefoot though.

I only wear them when I exercise or when I have to wear real shoes outside in the winter.
