Does anyone still do double page layouts? I know grammadee does. I love looking at her layouts.
95% of my layouts are single page but every once in awhile I have more photos from an event that I can get on a single page. I tend to be a non-event, 1-3 photos, 4x6 photo scrapper (heavily on the one photo) so 2 page layouts don't happen a lot for me.
I like double page layouts, however.
When I first started scrapping all of my layouts were 2 pages- it was kind of the "rule" back then. Everything I saw in scrap magazines were two-pagers. Now you see mostly 1 page layouts. Or maybe I just see a lot of one-pagers because of the square Instagram format.
Do you do 1 or 2 page layouts? How many photos do you usually use on a layout? What size photos do you like to use the most?

I haven’t done any in a while, and when I want things to go together, I make them more like coordinating instead of a full 2 pager. I do really like how they look though, and to get back to them!

I love the look of them, but rarely do them. If I have more photos than will fit on a 12x12, but not enough for a mini album, I’ll add a side flip that holds 4-6 photos, or create a photo pull of smaller photos that I’ll add to the front of the page protector.

Almost all of mine are two pagers. I like using 4 x 6 photos and usually have several of them on a layout. I just purchased a bunch of 49 and Market Ultimate page kits and you can do one or two pagers.

Even if it’s not specifically a two pager, there has to be continuity.
I view my albums more as a story book than an encyclopedia.

I do a mix - lately I've been mostly doing single page - probably 80% recently are singles. But I do doubles also and it really depends on how many photos I have and how I'm laying them out. I've done a bunch of sketches and class projects recently and that always leans more single page for me. But I've just sorted a ton of photos and those are going to be heavy on the double pagers I think - there are several photo heavy day trips in that batch and the Christmas season (which for me tends to be photo heavy also) and several international destinations from DS where he crammed sightseeing/photo taking into a single day at each. But there will be single pagers mixed in. 99% of the time, I print 4x6/6x4 - rarely I will print a 5x7 or I'll have an 8x10 from school photos or something like that. I do tend to crop as needed though. And since I scrap 8.5x11 - it takes less photos to force me to 2-pages than it would for 12x12 single page - 1-3 photos usually occasionally 4, rarely more double page - 4+ usually, often 6-7, more occasionally

I like the look of double pages, but in reality what I usually do is make a 12x12 and then put the other pages in a pocket page facing the 12x12. I usually add a little embellishment or filler card to make the pocket page coordinate with the 12x12 layout.

I mostly create single-page layouts, however, my goal for July and August to create several two-page layouts for specific events (Christmas, my son's graduation, etc.). I love the look of two-page spreads in my albums and I have several events that have 5-7 photos, and a two-page spread is a great solution.

I do both. Probably about 50/50. It’s nice to switch back and forth between them to feel like everything isn’t the same all the time.

I would say about 85% of my layouts are 2-page spreads. I usually have too many photos I want to include to just have a one-page layout. I mostly have 4x6 photos as well.

I do both one and two pages......as well as multiple pages for a larger set of photographs. I've done 10-15-20+ plus pages for one set of photos before. Class reunion, Halloween party, etc.... I usually take more, rather than less ...in regards to the amount of photos taken. When it's a big group event, I end up with lots of photos and it's hard to narrow them down......so I don't. They are my scrapbooks and I can make as many layouts per event or photo op....as I want to. My way of scrapbooking may not be for everyone, but it makes me happy. To each, their own.

I still do 2 pagers. I take a LOT of photos, so to use only one small photo on a layout, surrounded by lots of embellishment, just doesn’t work well for me. I prefer the focus to be on the photos, and trends don’t drive my pages, which is why I never post them. If I like a trend, I use it, but I’m not much of a trend follower. I tried many trends. I used to work and teach at the LSS near where I used to live, and I had to use the trends in my classes that I taught. After I stopped working there, and especially after they closed, I was free to do my pages the way I liked, and I like two page spreads. Besides, I take a lot of photos, partly because I have a large family, and partly because at least some of the time, I’m a good photographer, and so are others in the family. It’s hard enough to narrow the photos down to 5 or so pictures for a two pager. For special events, the layout may be more than two pages.

I mainly do double page layouts. Occasionally I do a single page layout. The number of pictures vary. I sometimes use peekaboo pockets to get more pictures on a layout.

I rarely do two pages layouts. I will if I have a ton of photos, but not very often.

I am a "whatever it takes to tell the story" kinda scrapbooker. I have always scrapped 8.5x11 until this year and I am trying 9x12. That said I do a lot of at least 4x6, and often enlargments. If I only have 1-2 pics I will do a 1 pg layout.Otherwise I do 2 or even more than 2 page layouts for an extended story. I also use a ton of different sized/configured page protectors. Basically what I am saying is there is no rhyme or reason to what I do lol.

I prefer 2 pagers because I like how it looks to have a cohesive spread across the entire open album.
When I don't have enough for a 2 pager I find it annoying, sometimes, because I still want those pages to at least coordinate, but since I let the photos determine the colors, that can be tricky sometimes and I wind up needing to play around with the order I include things to make it work.
At one time, I'd force a 2 page LO out of everything, but that felt wasteful to me sometimes, so I stopped.

I do plenty of two page layouts. It depends on what I am scrapping. A trip to the beach or river etc is obviously going to be a two page layout, sometimes a few two page layouts depending on how many photos I took. Birthday layouts might be one page or two pages, depending on how many photos I took.
Sometimes it also depends on the quality of the photos. If I have four photos that are not great quality (lighting or composition etc), then I will make the photos smaller and put them on one page. If the photos are better quality, then I will make them full size or enlarge them, and spread them over two pages.
My gallery probably shows more single page layouts, but that's just because they're quicker to do, and most of the Sketchy Saturday and Sketchtember sketches are single page. I wish that there were more examples of double page layouts online. Digital scrapbook galleries are particularly lacking when it comes to double page layouts. I remember one year doing the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad, and I was told that my two page layout was not accepted for a particular challenge I had completed, it could only be a single page! WTH?!

I am drawn to single page layouts because they can be fast to create, use less photos and require no pre-planning. I find 2-page layouts difficult to create and it takes me so much longer to complete one. While I enjoy the end results (and love seeing other people's 2 page layouts), I rarely make them myself.
A double page layout requires me to pre-plan, ideally before photos have been printed, which is not how I tend to approach scrapbooking. I typically print all my photos and then figure out a composition that works with the quantity & size printed.
I have the same hang up with using sketches. In theory I like sketches, but I find I am most successful using them if I pre-plan, which I don't really do.

I'm about 75/25 for two page layouts. It's my preference since I like facing pages to coordinate.

I do two-pagers almost exclusively. I usually have one or two larger photos on one side, and multiple (3-8) on the other side.

When I scrapped, I was a one-page gal. If I had more photos than could fit on one page, I made another one-pager. They did sort of coordinate, like KikiPea said, but the design of the pages did not flow across the two pages. I made one page, and then did the second page.

I still do quite a lot of double pages. I scrap a lot of travel photos and often those are better suited to double pages. I usually print the focal photos in 4x6 and then supporting photos in 3x4 or even 2x3 if I have detail shots I want to include. I also scrap stories in my everyday album that have a lot of photos I want to include on a double page.
I've just had a quick flip through some recent double page layouts to see how many photos I typically include, and I seem to pretty consistently use between 7 and 10 photos.

I used to do almost everything as a 2 page layout. I do about 90% single layouts now. It really depends on how many photos I have. I am also making a conscious effort to reduce the number of pages in my grandchildren's albums. They have too many. I really don't think they are going to want to keep them all.

I haven't really thought about the proportion of 2-page vs. 1-page layouts, but I make both types. It really depends on the number of photos I want to use. If I have more than 5 or 6, I usually make a 2-page layout.
I use mostly 3 x 4 or 3.5 x 5 photos for a 1-pager and 3.5 x 5 or 4 x 6 for a 2-pager.
When I first started scrapbooking, back in 2001, I made only double-page layouts.

Lately I prefer single pages, but if the photos/event I am working with have more photos that I feel would single I will make a double. For some reason the majority of my june and July projects have been doubles.
I am glad someone mentioned Lisa (life in layouts on youtube) as she does mainly doubles and posts almost daily.

Just wanted to add that I am not a chronological scrapper. So making one pagers made it easier for me to arrange the pages in an album.
