Good Morning.
Dinner will be rechauffe chicken sandwiches for dh. What's on our menu?
In the afternoon I'm going to have a mani w/a lovely friend that I've not seen in a while. We used to do monthly mani/pedi's before covid. It'll be my first mani since the pandemic. I need it.
What is everyone up to today?
lucyg, if you are reading this I hope that you're feeling OK after your chemo. I'm holding you in my thoughts.
**GypsyGirl**, how are you today? How is your dh doing? I'm holding you in my thoughts, as well?
rymeswithpurple, they'll sort you out and then you can hopefully, relax around this stuff. One thing I've learned about lab tests is that you can Google and find the scariest answers. Then the next day your doctor will tell you that everything is fine. Sometimes it's not fine, but not dire, either. Please try not to worry and I know that is easier said than done.
Wishing everyone a calm, healing and happy day today!

Happy Tuesday!
It's a slow day at work so I've been peaing more than usual. Lots of new threads now that Biden has dropped out of the race so the board seems to be moving faster.
Dinner tonight will be rechauffe spaghetti with Texas Toast. My parents are coming over and i've got lots to use up before vacation.
Hope everyone has a great day!

DH and I went for a bike ride this morning before it got too hot. We rode 16 km which was a fairly short ride for us.
I need to do a few things around the house today but nothing too major. I’ll do laundry, vacuum and maybe clean a couple windows.
Grandboy #1 got Player of the Game last night at his baseball game. This is his first year playing and he loves it.
Supper will be rechauffe pulled pork fries for me. DH will fend for himself.

Happy Tuesday! It's supposed to be a stormy day, but I think the majority of it will be to the north of us. We've had one quick shower so far. Anything is welcome to help keep the water bill down! This morning I'm catching up on ironing. If I have time I may empty a book box in the guest room. There are 6 that need to be emptied as I try to get that room cleared out to redecorate later on. Dinner will be salad and perhaps a baked sweet potato. I'm eating much better this week and have managed to put back on 3 lbs. I lost 8 lbs in the first 10 days of this ordeal, which I really didn't need to lose. **GypsyGirl**, how are you today? How is your dh doing? I'm holding you in my thoughts, as well? DD is up there this morning and says he's much more awake today. They have stepped oxygen down from 60 to50% and reduced his steroids to once a day (from every 6 hours). Other than the weakness in the lungs he really is doing better. Just going to take time and patience. Thanks for checking in. I will head to visit him after lunch today. We are finding that if we tag team visits and make them a bit shorter it works well for him. Thinking of lucyg , sueg , and bc2ca . Hopefully you are all feeling well and your treatments are helping.

Good morning everyone. Sunday night I hardly slept the whole night and yesterday I was a zombie. Today is better. 6 hours ! Yay! Got the pupper out for a walk before it heats up. Rosie the Roomba is at work. I've realized she can vacuum the family room while I'm gone which makes it easier on the furball. Praying for lucyg and **GypsyGirl** DH. I enjoyed @cadoodlebugs meme yesterday. scrapmaven I know you must have a lovely voice but let's face it the vocal exercises are what kills the family!😂 When DS played sax he practiced 2-4 hours a day. The scales and other skill exercises made me dream of building him an outside shack with insulation. sueg that picture of Sophia was darling. I'm not sure what's for dinner tonight. Maybe Orange chicken salad. Seems perfect for a hot day.

I started slowly again today, waking late and not enthusiastic about getting out of bed. I went into the city just before lunch time to meet my friend, then we went to the yarn store to look for something to knit a cardigan for her DD, then bought gelato and ate it under a tree in the market area. DS sent me some lovely photos from his MiL’s funeral and wake. His BiL’s wife took one of MiL’s bathrobes and a blankie and made cuddly rabbits for all four of the grandchildren - they are just beautiful and each one is a bit different. I am tired after my day out and I ate a big lunch (yummy Pad Thai), so I am just going to cook a frozen pizza for my dinner tonight. lucyg - I hope you’re doing well after your treatment . **GypsyGirl** - still keeping you and your DH in my thoughts.

I'm not sure for dinner. I may do takeout but I also have salmon in the freezer.
I have decided I'm not going anywhere like church or the gym. as I have an important medical test next tuesday and don't want to risk covid at all.
the room progresses.. the closet cleaned out. time to start putting stuff back and hanging more pictures on the wall. I have a portrait of my dad ..from the early 1940's that I want to hang. it was done by his cousin. we have enough art in our house we are running out of wall space.
I have my preop appt today. my primary care doc is retiring this week, so yesterday, I signed up with primary care with a local medical chain. I would prefer to get into a local hospital system, but the waiting lists are thousands of people long. or the docs have bad reviews. or have concierge practices. (where you pay a monthly fee on top of insurance coverage)

Hey all. Busy day today. Probably some easy pasta for dinner, but maybe I'll talk my husband into grilling some hamburgers. I'm donating blood later this afternoon and always like to boost the iron after. Take care!

Hi all! Anyone else feel like it's been a long week and it's only Tuesday? I thought I was feeling better last night as DH and I watched some TV, but I think I was mistaken. I woke up today with the worst ear and throat pain I've had in recent memory. I'll mention it on Friday, but hopefully it won't be worse then. scrapmaven Thanks! I'm always curious about these things. Probably more than I should be, really. Apart from that... nothing to report here. Just work, work, and well, work. Can I retire now?

This is such a sweet idea. Just really sweet. Anyone else feel like it's been a long week and it's only Tuesday? Raises hand! I woke up thinking it was Wednesday. In all actuality I think I just am dreading my afternoon meeting with my coworker and bosses. I saw an Instagram post with a lady roasting a whole pan of red pepper to make into soup. So that's what I'm doing. I've got my bread rising. And I've got my veggies ready to go. For extra sweetness, I added a few carrots. And for a little bite, a red jalapeno.

ntsf , we're here if you want to share what you're facing next week. I hope that your test goes well and that all is fine. Marina , I was up a lot last night. I hate insomnia. As I've mentioned a few times, my nephew is a violinist. When he was a child and starting out I felt sorry for his parents and the neighbors. That instrument really lends itself to some zingers. I need a Rosie. sueg , what a lovely gift for the grandchildren. They'll treasure those rabbits forever. How are you doing? **GypsyGirl** , You absolutely don't need to lose anymore weight. You looked terrific when I saw you. I'm sorry that so many tribe members are suffering right now.
jeremysgirl, do you the peppers in your garden? I have some for you.
Ok, so weird week story. This is a very first world problem. Sorry for the novel:
Yesterday, my voice lesson was very annoying. I've had a substitute teacher the past 2 weeks, while my teacher has been on vacation. I've actually preferred this teacher, since she understands my range. She's older and classically trained. She told me that she wishes that we had worked together and honestly, I agree, due to her skill set. Then she shared that she and another teacher are interviewing at a different music academy in town, because it pays 4 times what they're making at their current job. Then as I was leaving, the office manager let me know that my teacher would be leaving at the end of August to go back to school. She offered to place me w either/the sub or a new guy. I want to work w/the sub, but she might leave and I can't say a word to anyone.
I think I know where the interviews are being held. It's the same price, but about 10 mins away. No biggie. I just feel caught in the middle. I'm not into drama. I just want to sing. So, I need to make a choice. This is very unprofessional and the sub shouldn't have said anything. Honestly, I'm just an old lady who wants to sing an aria. I could care less about the soap opera. That's my vent for the day. It feels like a car salesman who steals the sale from the guy you talked to yesterday.

Good morning! It is already heating up on its way to 105. I'm going to make a quick grocery run because I need greens for our favorite strawberry, grilled chicken, etc. salad. Then this afternoon we're going to see Twisters. It will be cool in the theater but 120° in my car when we get out of the movie. Thankfully my car has a great cooling system. Big hugs to all who need them. Anyone else old enough to remember this? They need to bring after lunch naps back!

I can't tell you how much I love this. **GypsyGirl** , glad you are feeling better and eating better. I'm just finishing my coffee and then will decide which grocery store to hit. I want fresh tarragon that I know will be at the farm store but also want to stock up on a few Trader Joe's things (and they rarely have fresh tarragon), but don't want to go in two different directions. I saved the breasts from yesterday's rotisserie chicken to make salad tonight (which must have fresh tarragon in it ). It will be served with a big bowl of chopped Romaine and croissants everyone can mix however they like. ntsf , you have me itching to do a bit of reorganizing and purging.

It feels like a car salesman who steals the sale from the guy you talked to yesterday. Maybe I'm misunderstanding but if the regular teacher is leaving and the place told you they would place you with the sub if you wanted. But the sub is leaving too and she told you that, presumably because she *wants* to work with you. I mean, my loyalty is to the instructor, not the studio. Like, I followed my facialist and I have followed hairdressers. I see no conflict.

I'm just getting a colonoscopy... I'm on the three year plan. but it seems I have had to have so many pre appointments, phone screenings, etc. had an echo, an ekg, blood today, a video call to get the preop prescription, a pre op today, and at least 4-5 phone intakes and I'm cranky cause I can't eat my usual berries, nuts, etc.
and since dh isn't here, I have to take an uber and get my kid to take an uber to pick me up to go home with me. and dh keeps texting about sitting on the patio, watching the sunset, under the new umbrella with his drink. I told him I don't need to hear more about it.
I'm just whining. I'll be sitting on the porch in two weeks.

Colonoscopy prep is just awful. ntsf, you have every right to be cranky. Colonoscopy prep is a necessary evil. You'd think by now they'd find a way to prep you w/teeny pills.

bc2ca, it's good to see that you have some energy. How do you feel? I'm feeling good. For me, it really has been like a switch goes off, the fatigue lifts and I'm ready to do all the normal things a week after chemo. Because I know my body is still immune compromised, I do limit the public outings and mask up when out and about. I also have to get help for things like loading groceries until my surgeon clears me in a couple weeks. I'm hoping he gives me a lifetime ban on vacuuming stairs while resuming all other normal activity.

Long week over here too! And I am in the colonoscopy club too, mine is Aug 9 so a couple more weeks. Big ole jug to drink! YAY! My sister and I put aside some of our dad's shirts to do something with. We haven't decided yet what to do. My dad got ride of all my mom's things before I was able to get some stuff. He wanted it out of sight, so I get that. But now it would be nice to mix the both of their stuff into one item. I have some kielbasa that I may make for dinner. With beans and maybe rice pilaf. I am sure that will change, but it sounds like I have a plan.

Then you take more the next am. They're better than the liquid. Unfortunately, they're hard to get, because they can cause kidney failure in older people. Though that might have changed.

I'm part of the busy week too. My sole employee called off today so my business partner and I have been left with answering the phones, helping clients that wander in and we had 2 conference calls today. scrapmaven to answer your question from yesterday, I was a guest at the bridal shower. This particular part of the family is never on time for any event and anything they hold never starts on time. The shower started late and it just went on forever.... We are headed to the county fair tonight. Today is beef day and DH's family raises cattle and our kids showed cattle so we always attend this day of the fair. I am leaning towards a pork burger tonight.
