No kidding…
Ron Filipkowski…
”Let’s face it, at this point in his dementia and derangement, Trump is simply incapable of doing any event where he is asked questions from anyone other than the hacks at Fox and Newsmax. Today was a total disaster.”

anyone listen to rachel tonight? the scary part about the republican plans to subvert the election.. no matter what the votes really are....? so scary, so horrific. I posted this on another thread, I read this on REddit yesterday and completely got upset: I read this super scary article linked on Reddit and to be honest besides P2025/A47, this detailed plan of how the GOP plans to steal the election needs to be shared and discussed and everyone needs to be very aware. This is NOT going to stop with her getting elected. November is going to be scary. ☹️ hartmannreport.com/p/the-new-over-the-top-secret-plan-518This is horrifying.

He keeps proving just how dumb he is and the Republicans continue to ignore it. They will start making excuses for his behavior.

This… Aaron Rupar “Trump tells Black journalists that Kamala Harris "is of Indian heritage ... is she Indian or is she Black? ... she became a Black person." Note the audience laughing at him. Prompted this… Shannon Watts.. ”This was a train wreck that derailed into the ocean where it was attacked by a shark and electrocuted before being hit by an asteroid.” trump told one of his “analogies” on electric cars and boats are bad that involved a boat, a battery and a shark. It was something. x.com/shannonrwatts/status/1818735891353141742?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

thought this was an interesting perspective on calling the Republicans weird gift article www.nytimes.com/2024/07/31/opinion/trump-vance-weird-creepy.html?unlocked_article_code=1._U0.FFeM.W2evoGRn_3PA&smid=url-shareSnowflakes. Groomers. Cucks.
For years the MAGA movement has approached politics the way a bully would approach a schoolyard, sparring with labels so nasty, they seemed expressly chosen to appeal to the kind of people who stuffed nerds in lockers in sixth grade. And for years Democrats, abiding by the mantra to go high, not low, have responded by trying to be the adults in the room: defending themselves with facts, with context, with earnest explanations that nobody remembers (if they defend themselves at all).
The problem is that taking the high road only works if politics is a sport played mainly by people who act like grown-ups, which it is not. And also: Facts and context don’t make for particularly sticky messaging.
Enter: Weird.
Weird and creepy. Simple, gut-punching words. Not a threat to democracy or a menace to the “soul of America,” not even “dangerous.” Nope, in the progressive vernacular of the moment, Mr. Trump and his party are just a bunch of weirdos, making weird policy proposals, weird comments about women, weird fashion choices and weirder shoe choices and promoting even weirder conspiracies. And of course, as any sixth grader who’s been called weird — or worse, “creepy” — by his peers knows, good luck trying to argue your way out.
It all made me think back to a line often repeated by Gloria Steinem, that what women fear most from men is violence but what men fear most from women is being made fun of. “Weird” is the Democrats laughing — and it seems like it is getting under Republicans’ skin.
Think about it: Crooked Hillary. Sleepy Joe. Fake news. Are there any real Democratic equivalents? (Sorry to whoever tried to make “Rethuglicans” happen.)
But “weird” … “weird” is simple, broadly applicable, but not high-minded or pretentious. “Weird” is enough of a dig to put its target on the back foot without being actively mean — “an attack that hides being an attack,” as the cognitive linguist George Lakoff told me. “Weird” is a little bit playful, and kind of fun to say; it’s already a word we all know, so it doesn’t sound too try-hard.
And importantly, much like “creepy” — which packs a particular punch when delivered by a woman to a man — you can’t really defend against weird. It’s specific enough to be damning, but without a clear path to a comeback. “It’s kind of indefensible,”
Is there something slightly grim about American politics descending into a free-for-all of playground insults? Surely. As Michael Sandel, the political philosopher, told my colleague Thomas Friedman, “weird” is “not only a flight from substance” but also a word that risks alienating voters who think the left talks down to them already.
But after years of watching Democrats be brutalized, linguistically speaking, “weird” — and all the youthful flourish that the Harris campaign brings to it (that question mark!) — as an attack feels both pretty dang mild and supremely satisfying.

NYT and the Washington Post only infrequently rarely cover Trump's interviews or rallies. For both them to cover this on the front page with live updates, I think it's a signal of just how offensive his comments were. He really stepped over the line, even more than normal for him. I think they might have anticipated that this would be different because he was interviewed by non right wing media for a change. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/31/trump-black-voters-nabj-harris/www.nytimes.com/live/2024/07/31/us/harris-trump-electionFormer President Donald J. Trump questioned the racial identity of Vice President Kamala Harris during a tense appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago on Wednesday, asking, “Is she Indian or is she Black?” He falsely claimed that Ms. Harris, who has long identified as Black and attended a historically Black university, used to identify as Indian and then, “all of a sudden, she made a turn, and she became a Black person.”
The White House press secretary, Karine Jean Pierre, called Mr. Trump’s comments “repulsive” and “insulting.” She added, “No one has any right to tell someone who they are.”
Mr. Trump was questioned immediately on his rhetoric about race and complained that he was getting a “very rude introduction.” He was pressed about his fellow Republicans describing Ms. Harris as a “D.E.I. hire” and he peddled several falsehoods about his policy record relating to Black communities.

Trump also said this last night. His campaign later denied he was talking about her race or gender, but if that's the case, what exactly was he referring to then? www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/30/trump-harris-play-toy-comment/Trump suggests Harris would struggle with world leaders based on her appearance
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump suggested that Vice President Harris wouldn’t be able to stand up to world leaders because of her appearance, adding that he didn’t want to spell it out but viewers would know what he meant. Cut through the 2024 election noise. Get The Campaign Moment newsletter.
“She’ll be like a play toy,” Trump — who has a history of using sexist attacks and stereotypes in campaigns against women — said in a Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham, a portion of which aired on Tuesday night. “They look at her and they say, ‘We can’t believe we got so lucky.’ They’re going to walk all over her.”Trump then turned to look directly at the camera and added: “And I don’t want to say as to why. But a lot of people understand it.”

As of yesterday I was not surprised by anything that spews from that orange turd. I knew there was no bottom for him or his ilk.
Today however, I am absolutely rocked by that NABJ interview. I honestly cannot find the words. I’m so glad there is video proof but the fact that this will not end his campaign is so profoundly disturbing.

Have you noticed his favorite slur for women is that they are nasty? Ever since 2016! Any woman who doesn't coo and cuddle up to him is "nasty." (Can you believe we've been dealing with this crap for 8 years??) Most women with the exception of Marjorie Taylor Greene, Kari Lake & Elise Stefanik fall into that category. He is particularly rude and insulting to women in power and female journalists. Remember Megyn Kelly? I think he's intimidated by powerful women, almost all of them are smarter than him but he frequently insults their intelligence. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/07/31/trump-black-voters-nabj-harris/Running against former Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina in the 2016 Republican primaries, Donald Trump mocked her appearance: “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that?” Running against former secretary of state Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race, Trump dismissed her as “unbalanced” and “unhinged” and questioned her “strength” and “stamina.”
And running against former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley in the 2024 Republican primaries, Trump attacked his own former U.N. ambassador as a “birdbrain.”
Trump has already begun testing derogatory nicknames for Harris — “‘Dumb as a rock’ Kamala Harris,” “Lyin’ Kamala Harris” and “Laffin’ Kamala Harris” — as well as accusing her of playing “the race card” and purposely mispronouncing her first name. It is a tactic Trump has also deployed against Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis, the Black female prosecutor overseeing the Georgia criminal case against him for attempting to overturn the 2020 election.
“I’m running against a low IQ individual,” Trump said during a speech Saturday at a bitcoin conference.
In 2019, during a fight with House Democrats, Trump tweeted that “The Squad” — a group of female lawmakers of color — should “go back” to the “crime infested places from which they came.” He described Waters, who is Black, as “low IQ Maxine Waters” in a speech, and in a tweet attacked her as “an extraordinarily low IQ person.” And over the course of three days in 2018, Trump demeaned three different Black female reporters, dismissing one as a “loser” and telling another, “You ask lot of stupid questions.”
After Harris’s 2020 debate with Vice President Mike Pence, Trump called her a “monster” and a “disaster.”
apnews.com/ec4d9be8132c49ff9911eb025d5942f0 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump said Friday he can’t recall using words such as “dog,” ’'fat” and “disgusting” to insult women he believes have slighted him, but such language litters his Twitter feed and other public comments he’s made for years.
Before dawn, he had retweeted a post calling Kelly a “bimbo.” The post was later deleted, but on Friday evening Trump called Kelly a “lightweight.”
“She’s not very tough and not very sharp,” Trump said during a phone interview on CNN. “I don’t respect her as a journalist.”
Referring to Kelly’s questions during the debate, Trump said, “There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”
“Rosie O’Donnell’s disgusting, I mean both inside and out. You take a look at her, she’s a slob. She talks like a truck driver,” he said in 2006 during an interview with “Entertainment Tonight.” ’'I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I’d say, ‘Rosie, you’re fired’” from her television show, “The View.”
In tweets sent last year, Trump called Huffington Post editor Arianna Huffington “a dog who wrongfully comments on me” and said she is “ugly both inside and out!”
In 2012, Trump wrote on Twitter of singer Bette Midler: “But whenever she sees me, she kisses my ass. She’s disgusting.”

There is some good news for Trump.
J.D. isn't making the headlines today. So I guess when he said the VP doesn't matter, it doesn't. You don't have to look down the ticket to find a reason not to vote Republican this fall.
