Just curious how this poll will go. I personally stand to apply makeup. I'm getting a bit shaky sometimes, so I might have to start sitting to see if it helps.

Stand and lean into the bathroom mirror for everything except mascara for which I stand in front of a mirrored armoire door, because I need to be close and can't get as close as I would like leaning over the sink mirror.

At home, I sit. I have a little table with all my makeup. If I am in a hotel room, or somewhere else, I might stand. I bring along a mirror with magnification so often I have to stand to use it.

Stand. My bathroom is too tiny to allow room for a chair. Hotels never have a chair that fits the space and I am accustomed to standing so....

Stand because I can't see unless I'm about 1" from the mirror. I only wear make up a couple of times a year if that.

I stand and use a 7X mirror to put on my mascara and concealing cream. Do not do this at home unless you want to see every single imperfection on your face.

Sit, unless the sun in that room is in my eyes then I stand at a mirror a bit further from the window.

I wish I could sit, but I don’t have anywhere to sit. When I broke my leg and was non-weight baring for 12 weeks I had to do my makeup sitting at my kitchen table. Not ideal, but I did enjoy doing may makeup sitting!

I stand at my bedroom window for maximum light. The room looks out onto woods, so there are no passers-by to laugh at my facial gymnastics.

I voted other. When I am getting ready by myself, I'll put make up on standing in the bathroom. If DH also has to get ready, I'll put make up on sitting at my desk.

I always sit. Before I bought my vanity table, I would climb onto the counter and sit over the sink. Not very comfortable as I got older!

When we redid our primary bath, I added a dropped counter between the two cabinets. It has a magnifying mirror and a bench. I love sitting to do my makeup and hair - I can steady my hand much more easily.

Stand, with a 10x lighted magnified mirror so I can get rid of any stray hairs first.

When we did our primary bathroom remodel, we took out the Jacuzzi and installed a vanity, which faces two western windows. I decided to do this because my back continues to deteriorate and it was hurting me to stand. I always apply makeup with natural light if possible.

Both. I stand while applying foundation and lipstick. Using bathroom wall mirror. I sit while applying mascara and doing eyebrows. Using close up mirror. I stand at my sliding door (natural light), checking for wayward eyebrows, chin hairs, nose hairs and nostrils for boogers. Using close up mirror. I sit in the car (natural light) and check for chin hairs. Using rear view mirror. I am high maintenance, especially since menopause. That 5th? 6th? grade menstruation film that all the girls in the class had to watch......never mentioned the amount of wayward and excess hair, that comes with peri-menopause and menopause.

Sit…unless I’m at a hotel and then I sit or stand depending on the room and the best lighting source.

It takes me about 5 minutes to get dressed and do my make up.
I stand- first I dry my face and put on serum.. then I walk to bedroom (or dryer lol) and get underclothes on.. then back to bathroom for moisturizer... then back to bedroom for bottom half of outfit. Then back to the bathroom to slap on eyeshadow and often a little eyeliner. Back to bedroom for top half of clothes. Back to bathroom and put on foundation w sunscreen or tinted CC/sunscreen if I'm using either of them that day- then mascara.
Out the door. Sitting would make me go insane lol I can never do one thing at a time.

If I can’t finish I just take the rest with me and finish in the car.

I start out standing in front of the big round mirror on my antique vanity to apply moisturizer, under eye concealer and foundation. Then I sit at the vanity in front of a 10X magnifier mirror for the eye makeup. Blusher and lipstick can be done either sitting or standing, depends on how I feel. It's just for the real close up stuff I need to be sitting. Days when I only put on a bit of mascara and a bit of blush on my cheeks, I sit.

I've had vanity tables in the past, but I prefer to stand, oh probably the last 10-15 years or so. The lighting in my bathroom is really good so I just use the large mirror behind my sink.
I don't have a complicated makeup process. No contouring, shading, and highlighting for me. I can do a full face in about five minutes. Drying/styling my hair doesn't take much longer as all I use is one of those dryer brush volumizer things. Good lighting and generally a favorite playlist going in the background and I'm good to go.

I sit on the toilet with a hand type mirror on the sink counter. I sit on the toilet also. Lid down and it’s right next to the sink/vanity counter. Using a 10x magnifying, stand mirror that I have placed, temporarily, on the corner of the counter.

I don’t contour, shade, highlight, or anything else. I have some hand and dexterity issues but I’m also just slow. I’m impressed with anyone that can put makeup on quickly.

my craft room desk now serves as my makeup desk, the top drawer emptied of glue dots and scissors and now houses makeup. Now I sit!

I’m impressed with anyone that can put makeup on quickly. Luckily, it's not a contest. We all get to "made up" in our own way. I was at a "porch party cocktail hour" birthday party this past Saturday evening. Most guests were dressed up a bit and looking quite nice. One very elegant much older lady had one full fluffy fake eyelash on one eye and none on her other. A relative of hers came and whispered in her ear as she was talking to several of us in a group. She howled with laughter and said, "I told my husband not to rush me. Now I'm here with one of my caterpillars missing." And at that point, we all howled. She handled it with such grace and humor. I instantly fell in love with her!
