Yes I labelled it politics. Fred Trump III (Donald Trump's nephew) is publishing a book soon that includes this information about his own interactions with Trump while Trump was president. The article is worth reading in its entirety, but if you want the short version, Fred's third child has a genetic mutation that profoundly affects his development, and Fred attempted while Trump was in office to bring attention to government support for people in his child's position. Trump told him, when Fred was meeting with him in his professional and representational capacity, that maybe disabled people "should just die," and Fred was upset, but didn't process that Trump meant his own child/Trump's great-nephew; when, at a later point, he was discussing family financial support for his child, Trump specifical told Fred that maybe he should let his child die so he could move to Florida. I know Trump's camp is denying this, but (1) it's completely consistent with Trump's world view, and we all know it, and (2) Fred Trump III is actually my husband's uncle's close friend from growing up (I've mentioned before that my husband's family and the Trumps grew up in the same neighborhood and attended the same schools), they are still in touch, and I trust him when he says Fred is a truth-teller.

Honestly when he wanted any disabled vets out of sight because it would make him look bad I just couldn’t believe that someone could think and say that. This doesn’t surprise me at all. It fits with his lack of empathy.

Fits hand in glove with everything we’ve already seen coming from him so I absolutely believe he would say stuff like that.

I think Fred's sister, Mary, had mentioned that before.
We have seen how TFG treats and talks about the disabled including our veterans!!

Not to mention how he famously mocked a disabled reporter. You think that would have been enough right there. Most who vote for him think that kind of mockery is funny and appropriate. And we wonder why we can’t all get along.

Why on earth is anyone remotely surprised by this? Sad but true. He’s an abomination of a human and I can’t wait until we’re done with him. Put him in a nursing home, let his MAGA followers crawl back under their rocks, and the rest of us can keep building the US up.

I'm not sure why but every time he says something deplorable, I think now he's hit rock bottom. He can't possibly get any worse. Ands then he does. I've given up hope that Republicans or his supporters will ever denounce his comments but for some reason I keep thinking he can't get any worse. And then he does. This time, though, I have a bad feeling that it's going to be a rocky 4 months. If the excitement for Harris continues or if anything changes with the legal cases, he's going to get more desperate.

You know who else believed this and went on to implement it? Hitler!
I see so many similarities between Hitler and the rise of the Nazis and Trump and the MAGAs. Over and over again. This is another one.

This is another one. So true. I think everyone in the US needs to go to Netflix and watch ‘The Hitler Trials’ (I think that’s the name). The similarities between Germany 1939 and the US today are frightening. P.S. I know you know this already

It doesn't surprise me at all that Trump would feel that way and say it aloud.
We'll just add it to the list of why he's a morally bankrupt human.

Then when you have babies who are born with disabilities so severe that they will die shortly after birth, he tries to make it sound like the babies are aborted after birth because parents and doctors allow the baby to pass away rather than prolong their life. He is a monster.

He is a monster. But also he wants to prevent women from making the decision to terminate a pregnancy where the resultant baby's life will be short and painful. It's all about control.

You you cannot blame the state of the current USA in one single president or party or legislature or set f justices. The current state of affairs is a culmination of presidents that probably go back to the Nixon era or maybe even the Kennedy years. Corruption is coming forth more and more as media and social media have advanced. Truthful it is very bad to really find good candidates period. I don’t want to vote for the republican because-Trump and I am a registered republican! I don’t want to vote Harris because I don’t think she really has the experience in running a government at any level or will have the respect of any foreign government officials because she not shown any strength or presence in the current administration. She is riding on Bidens withdrawal, being a woman a one of color. I want to see how she stands up to Trump in a debate because that will show how much is strength and ability to handle herself against the assholes of the world and how much is just the what I said in the previous sentence. She is going to have to show me something to win a vote from me. At least I can be more open minded than some. I will spend a bit less time on the VP choices because they truthfully are background noise during an administration. So Harris has to prove herself to me as a voter Trump -nah is their a real candidate out there and if you are basing everything about Trump on letting babies die, you really need to read Fred the turds book. That man is bitter about his grandfather’s choice. And his sister’s lack of support. and refuses to admit his own shortcomings as a father, wage-earner/employee, etc.

Only this round the VP candidates are very important, particularly the GOP, because Vance is a horror show!
There was some sort of shenanigans involving Fred senior's estate distribution. When push come to shove, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry abruptly resigned/retired rather to have her name coming up with the questionable distributions....... There is more to that story which we are likely never to know. There is a whole lot involved with the whole family that could be questionable, whether you or anyone else wants to hear or not!
We in the metro NY/NJ area have heard about and watch the trump family for years, going as far back as the 1973 federal housing discrimination violations that dear dad and donOLD paid fines for.

There are a million and one reasons why Trump is an authoritarian and compared to Hitler, beyond his comments about letting babies die. He even echoed the language of Hitler by saying that immigrants are “vermin” and “poisoning the blood of our country “. Aside from how horribly he treats his entire family, there are countless reasons to vote against Trump. Trump’s VP choice matters because of his advanced age and recent signs of cognitive decline. Regrettably, I don’t think there will be an opportunity to see Harris debate Trump because I think he will cowardly back out of the debate. Furthermore, I don’t think a debate against Trump is a good measure of how she will interact with foreign leaders because Trump is not typical of most heads of state (except for perhaps Orban and Putin) What more does VP Harris need to do to prove herself? She was a prosecutor, attorney general of California, senator serving on the Intelligence and Homeland Security committees and VP for 4 years. As VP she has been on 19 trips abroad, met more than 150 heads of state and is perfectly capable of holding her own. She has frequently met with heads of state from Central America. She has met with Xi from China as well as other leaders from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. She has more foreign policy experience than other first term presidents. All of this while staying close to home during the first 2 years in case her vote was needed to break a tie in the Senate. It’s also important to note that if elected, she will start her presidency with an experienced cabinet already in place. www.politico.com/news/2024/07/23/kamala-harris-world-leaders-00170676www.cfr.org/blog/vice-president-kamala-harriss-real-world-school-foreign-policywww.nytimes.com/2024/07/27/world/europe/kamala-harris-foreign-policy.htmlKamala Harris Is Known Abroad for a Personal Touch, and Tough Talk Heads of state and diplomats who have interacted with the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee say she uses humor, and talk of food, to help leaven hard discussions
In more than 30 interviews with officials on four continents, including foreign heads of state, senior diplomats and activists who have personally interacted with her, a consistent picture emerges. Ms. Harris can be many things at once: warm but steely on occasion; authoritative but personable.
She has represented the United States frequently during trips to Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, and has met with more than 150 world leaders. And she has attended three Munich Security Conferences — an annual staple for top-level foreign policy officials to meet and set the Western defense agenda. In recent months, she has also become more directly involved in discussions with global leaders on the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. www.chathamhouse.org/2024/07/kamala-harris-would-bring-greater-foreign-policy-experience-most-new-us-presidentsA few things are certain: Harris represents significant generational change. She embraces the globalized outlook one might expect of a daughter of immigrants who spent part of her childhood in Canada. She will take office with a seasoned team around her. And other than Biden, Americans must go all the way back to George H.W. Bush in 1989 to find a president who would take office with more foreign affairs experience than her

Numerous European countries have had female leaders over the years. They did their jobs well, so those countries and others have no issues dealing with our female prospective leader!!
It's just TFG and crew with issues. They want us to stay in the place they choose for us!!
