Those are beautiful **GypsyGirl**! Having something for 30 years I would have been tempted to purge. But good thing you didn't. All in good time.

How beautiful **GypsyGirl** and how determined of you to finish them! I love the medieval images; the unicorn is Scotland’s national animal. I thought Scotland's national animal was the loch Ness monster.😉

I love my strawberry needle stoppers 😊 We're selling our house atm and I've had a busy week cleaning and tidying for viewings. I intend to sit on my bum and knit all afternoon today. I didn't catch that you were moving. Is it just to a different house or are you moving to a new area? Is the current house the one your dh bought without you seeing it? I remember you didn't really care for it. We're hopefully moving to a much bigger house next door to our friends, there's a long way to go until everything is settled though so I'm trying to stay positive but not get ahead of myself with plans. It's a house that needs a LOT of work but we'll probably live there forever. I've never really liked where we live now but I feel weirdly emotional about leaving it (if anyone knows what that's about, please tell me!)

I thought Scotland's national animal was the loch Ness monster.😉 For sure! My DD swore that she saw it when we visited there in 1994. My BFF's son (same age) also swore he saw it as well. However, their descriptions of what it looked like were wildly different!

I've never really liked where we live now but I feel weirdly emotional about leaving it (if anyone knows what that's about, please tell me!) Having moved a great deal I think it comes from leaving the 'known' and starting over. Even places that I didn't love I felt emotional because you do set down some roots in every place you live. They may be shallow roots, but they are there. But with time, the new place takes over the emotions and typically I'm just left with a feeling of fondness of memories. Sending good luck vibes that the deal goes through! It sounds like a great spot for your forever home.

Good morning! I want to show all you crocheters a little something I discovered yesterday. So some crochet influencers were showing off a coming soon product, The Granny Square Card Deck. Now, I know I've said a million bazillion times that I would never in my entire life do another granny square afghan...however...these squares looked super fun. This is a preorder product that you can find almost everywhere. I ordered from B&N because I'm a member so I get a discount and free shipping. But this should be fun. Enjoy!

Hi All- I'm usually a lurker on this board, but am always in awe of everyone's talent. I love each and every project! I'm a hobby-oholic- I scrapbook, cards, journals, decopauge and sew, but the last few years Quilting is where my passion lies. I make a lot of donation quilts. This week I finally found some time to just "play" with fabric. I tried my hand at a dresden plate. Here is mid way thru my first attempt. I need to sew the blades together and work on my alignment, but it was fun! I have no idea what I'll do with the finished project. maybe I'll do 3 and put the blocks into a table runner. I like short runners on my breakfast room table, since I move them out of the way when we eat. Attachments:

I personally love granny square afghans so t his may be just the ticket for me. austnscrapaddict - that is beautiful!! Quilting is just about the only craft I haven't tried (yet) We started the Cenise Shawl CAL and I finished the first part - the center square motif. I was pretty happy with how it looks (unblocked).

I do love peeking at what you guys make.

I happened to be at Joann's this morning because I thought I'd work on a new quilt top. I needed thread of all things. And of course I cannot seem to locate my extra fine pins. But I saw this on the sale rack! I thought it might be good if anyone needs an extra blanket around the fire on cool nights.

Oh yes, I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I did buy it because I thought it would be a good blanket to use outside rather than taking any nice ones outdoors. Fleece cleans super easy.

The other thing about using something other than your "good" blankets is that the fireside blankets eventually smell like smoke. This way you can avoid that lingering smell.

cakediva, I'm just perusing threads and that yarn and your creation is just gorgeous! I'm amazed at everyone's talent. I had a grandmother who crocheted beautiful things and sewed us cabbage patch and barbie doll clothes. Great family keepsakes.

Beautiful work everyone! I’ve been flitting from project to project but did whip up this short sleeved sweater (in brat green!)

This was just a fast and easy 3 yard quilt pattern. This is the Starberry line by Corey Yoder for Moda fabrics. Now I have 4 finished tops that I've got to figure out what to do with. Send them out? Quilt them on my machine? Or stitch them by hand? Ive been on the fence about all of it. But I've got to do something because they are piling up.

jeremysgirl love the 3 yard quilt! Great job!! I have a rule that quilts smaller than bed size gets quilted with my embroidery machine using an edge to edge pattern or straight line on my domestic. I save the $ for long arming the larger ones. I have an accumulation of tops to quilt too.

I had a grandmother who crocheted beautiful things and sewed us cabbage patch and barbie doll clothes. Great family keepsakes. My Barbie from around age 3 got left at my paternal grandmother's house and my parents divorced shortly after. When I was in my early twenties I was living with my father for a short time and he took me to see her again. She pulled my Barbie off a shelf in her living room, where she was displayed on a stand, and was sporting a knitted or crocheted dress, sun hat and panties, in a cornflower blue colour. She gave her back to me.😁 She is displayed in my craft room, and I just love her.

That’s lovely malibou. When I was about 6 my grandmother knitted cream underwear and a pink dress, jacket and bonnet for my baby doll. I could not understand how she knew what size to make as she lived at the other end of the country and had never seen my doll. My mother always made knitted garments for me by holding them up against me as she worked, to get the right size, and I don’t recall her ever using a pattern so I wasn’t aware these things existed. I thought my grandmother and her knitting were magic, in fact I thought all knitting was magic at 6! It is, isn’t it!

Somehow I cringe at the crocheted/knitted clothing. They are all SO lovely. And all of you do such beautiful work on then and look so good in them.
But I have flashbacks to the horrible purple two piece bathing suit my mother crocheted me when I was 4 or 5. It was lined, but made from that weird, plastic-y kind of yarn, it was itchy and got soggy and saggy and I hated it.

But damn, I have all these lying around and I feel like I need something finished for Pete's sake. Hahaha... No but really, I'm going through some things with Chloe right now and I have one quilt top I had intended for her. I feel like I ought to send it out and maybe just drop it off because it would be just a way to show her I care.
