I’ve been wanting to buy a particular patio cooler since last year and have been watching for a deal. I want the name brand and not a knockoff. Well two days ago I saw that it was down to about $160 on Amazon but I knew I would be getting a credit today so I wanted to wait to apply that to this purchase. It was still at $160 yesterday. Today, now that I’m ready to pull the trigger? Back up to $199. 🤦🏻♀️ I’m obviously in no particular hurry. So I’m back to waiting it out but this time I’m going to go on CamelCamelCamel so I get a notification when the price goes back down.
What’s your FWP today?

Under normal circumstances, I'd be attending my first day of professional development before school starts today. Yay that I am not! Done with that.
But I'm bummed that I have to teach 3 hours worth of lessons this afternoon/evening. Ha. I just want to lie around.
I will try to be grateful I'm teaching awesome kids for 3 hours instead of sitting through 7 hours of useless meetings today. Really, I will.

I nearly lost my mind the other day when the Starbucks app was down. It still isn't 100% and I'm annoyed.

I nearly lost my mind the other day when the Starbucks app was down. It still isn't 100% and I'm annoyed. The app being down screwed up my girl math yesterday. I scanned but didn't realize my balance was super low because it was still showing I had money there. I was forced to come out of pocket, even though logically they're both "out of pocket" my brain was counting on it being loaded already. Also, I hate that when I quote someone here, if I edit or backspace at all, it won't let me comment. It keeps me in the quoted comment and I have to go back a screen and start all over.

I can’t believe I’m typing this because it is such a fwp but here you go.
My dd and her dh are looking at houses and one we looked at had a nice pool in the back yard with a 1 ft deep Baja step. We had our pool resurfaced and built in a 2 ft Baja step and I put a couple plastic Adirondack chairs on the big step. I told her that my Baja step is too deep and when I sit in the chair to read, I have to have a swimsuit on or something that I don’t mind if it gets wet. If it was only 1 ft deep, 1 could sit out there and read without having to change in and out of a swimsuit.
My dh pointed out that we could get different chairs that may help this travesty, but that was my first world problem—the Baja step in my backyard pool is too deep at 2ft deep instead of 1 ft deep.

I have a couple today. I hate the BB&B soap that someone put out in our downstairs bathroom so much that I put it back in the cupboard. It was Toasted Butterscotch Latte and I could not stand the lingering smell on my hands. I set my ancient iPod to shuffle. I thought it was on my Favorites playlist, but no, it's the entire music library and random Christmas songs are playing. I'm annoyed but haven't bothered to get up and press the two buttons to fix this FWP.

I feel this way about most social things. I know I’ll have a good time once I get there but getting myself to want to go in the moment isn’t easy.

I have a phone and I love my phone. I have managed to stress my neck by reading on said phone. I could get rid of the phone but there is no way I am doing that. I love my phone! I guess neck problems from phones happen in other countries. I just consider myself privledged to have a new phone. (I am not giving it up though!)

LOL this always happens to me too because I’m too lazy to put all of the Christmas songs into their own group. 🤣 I also had a ton of CDs that I had imported into my old phone (two phones ago) and for some reason they didn’t all transfer over. My newer MacBook doesn’t have a CD/DVD drive so I bought an external one. The external drive is USB-A, the computer only has USB-C so I bought a converter. Except the drive requires a powered hub, which the one I bought is not. 🤦🏻♀️

I received a gift set one Christmas in a random gift swap thing that had body spray, lotion and shower gel all in a scent I wouldn’t use. I only opened one thing to smell it and say NOPE, not for me. Put it up on Buy Nothing and someone grabbed it all the next day!

My stability ball found an ornament hook of all things and it is now no more. Where an ornament hook turned up from in August is beyond me. I was going through some plastic bins full of misc. "stuff" in the area where I keep the ball, but there were no ornaments in the boxes, so it never dawned on me that there might be a random hook to bury itself in the area rug; but apparently that's what happened. So good news, I actually had a new ball, still in the box as a back-up. Bad news, it's taking days to get this thing filled to the point of it being how I like it, and the last time I bought this exact same ball it did not take so long. So yeah, totally a FWP, but I'm still aggravated about it.

I had a dream last night that my cat brought me a lizard as a "gift". I woke up at 3:00 a.m. in a panic and didn't go back to sleep. I am tired. Darn cat.

I have one more today that is related to the FWP I had yesterday. Remember I said I had a credit that was being posted to my Amazon gift card yesterday that I was saving to use toward the cooler I wanted to buy? Well DH ordered some season of a TV show on Amazon Prime Video and burned up $9.73 of that aforementioned credit. 🤬 Yeah. Not too happy about that since I save up those random gift cards to pay for the fun stuff I personally want.

We’re getting quotes to do renovations. We have a couple of decisions to make that are pretty much fine either way we go, it’s just a matter of $1,000 or $2,000, which isn’t a ton, but could be a lot in the grand scheme of things. It will look good, and function fine either way, but I still may lose sleep over the final decision. LOL

B&BW will let you exchange it. I've done that. Or, I know this is crazy, but throw it away. If you really can't stand it, let it go. That is way too much work for me. I put out the last one to replace it so I needed to pick up a couple more before tossing it. I'm hoping one of the kids takes it into their bathroom. Or LOL offer it up on Buy Nothing! 😆 Also too much work, but I'm tempted only because I can be easily entertained by the reasons people will compete to be selected. "It reminds me of my favorite lattes I can't drink anymore because I'm now lactose intolerant" or "my grandma always had this flavor in her house and I miss my grandma" or "my daughter loves butterscotch everything" or "we love soap", etc.

My elderly Mom called me after I returned home from taking my 15 yo dgs shopping. I had already changed into my lounging clothes. Mom needed a few things at the grocery store, can I take her. I put my clothes back on, drive over, pick her up and go to grocery store. Last item on her list is the $5 fried chicken special. But alas, they don't have any, but it would be ready in 25 minutes. I saw the wheels churning in her head and I actually told my Mom NO. She talked about it all the way home. No points for me!!

My school is having a “lock-in” from 5-8. I’m in a semi-leadership role so I need to attend, but I want to go home and do nothing! I’m sure it will be fun but I’m currently still in my classroom avoiding going downstairs. I need to psych myself up to join the fun.

I have the ultimate 1st world problem. Tomorrow, DH and I are going to New Orleans for 5 days for a work function of his. We're staying in a nice hotel (Royal Sonesta) near the Quarter that has a pool, a gym, a coffee shop, and a couple of restaurants. New Orleans is one of my favorite cities because, hey, music and food. And you can walk around on the street and drink. So what's the issue, you ask? NOLA is pretty much always super humid but the temps this week are going to be in the high 90s and 100s with heat indices in the 110s. Well, wait until after dark to venture outside, you might say. Wednesday at 10pm the temp is going to be 90 degrees!
I do not tolerate heat and humidity very well, one of the reasons I moved from Arkansas to Connecticut. One summer in NOLA I was visiting and doing laundry in a laundromat. I got so overheated I went to the bathroom and vomited.
So I guess I'm going to forgo walking around, taking the streetcar through the Garden District, shopping on Magazine Street, getting coffee and beignets, standing in line at Community Market for a muffaletta, Frenchmen street market. I'll suffer through: go to the gym, bring books and read in the pool and coffee shop, and take air-conditioned Ubers to restaurants for dinner. And wish it were October.

I want to listen to a news video clip (on CNN) while doing other stuff on my computer, but every time I switch to my other tab (including this one), the video pauses. So annoying!
