I want to listen to a news video clip (on CNN) while doing other stuff on my computer, but every time I switch to my other tab (including this one), the video pauses. So annoying! Can you move it to its own window?

It's hot and humid today. Turn on ac and when it gets too cold, I turn the thermostat up. One degree. Then it's too hot. Down one...lather rinse repeat. Lol. It's Crazytown and I am the mayor.

DS is a firemedic. He's working today. I'm listening to the scanner because I like to hear when he gets a call (he doesn't live at home anymore and when I have a chance to listen, I love to hear his voice! So darn proud of this kid! My other kid thinks I'm weird, but oh, well). Anyhow, 2 cities share the same 911 dispatch and every call I've been able to hear today has been for the city he doesn't work in.

I bought clothes at Lululemon and they are great. I ordered similar things from Amazon. The colours are awful and the fit worse. That was my problem for trying to save money. I would rather buy less and prettier than more and save money. Lesson learned.

My principal texted me that she had taken all of my student desks and chairs for a new classroom(we had to add teachers due to enrollment numbers). She said that she would replace them, but I am afraid that they would be ugly and mismatched. So I decided to ask her for tables and chairs instead of desks. I am the sped resource teacher. I teach reading, language arts, social studies and math to 4th and 5th graders. I will have 12 students so far. I haven't been up to my classroom yet, I am afraid to see it. I also think a phone call would be more appropriate when taking things out of my room.
A few hours later my principal texted all of the SPED teachers that because she was unable to fill the K-1 sped position, so now we have to split grade levels differently. The other resource teacher will be k-2 and I will be 3-5. Awesome!!!! not! I am now responsible for 3 STAAR(state testing) levels in my building. Once again, I think that is worthy a phone call.

FWP--DH tolerates humidity better than I . . . so I have to deal with higher than comfortable humidity until it is warm enough outside to warrant turning on the AC.

I posted upthread about DH's and my trip to NOLA scheduled for today. DH got a call from the car service at 5am saying the flight had been cancelled. We are now on the same flight tomorrow am, which is sold out, and we are both stuck in middle seats apart from each other. We picked out aisle and window when we booked the tickets two months ago. I'm going to have to listen to DH complain about this for the next week; to his credit he's big and tall with long legs. I feel sorry for his seatmates...

I bought artwork from HL at 70-90% off so I could frame my pictures for cheap using nice frames. It took me two days to just get all of the staples and gunk off the back of the frames.
I did 14 frames.

The round inside cardboard of the toilet paper rolls is consistently misshapen and no natter how I try it will not stay even and hangs up on the roller.

DD was told today that she needed to have black athletic shorts for a team photoshoot on Tuesday around noon. She is not a size/shape that is easy to just pop out to Academy and shop for, and of course, the notification does not give her enough time to actually order any online. She ordered a random pair off Amazon, so fingers crossed.
I'm tired of people just assuming everyone has certain articles of clothing just lying around. I mean, they aren't crazy requests like a purple and orange polka dotted tuxedo shirt or something, but still. This seems to happen to us a lot, and it's always something different, of course.

Oh, I have a good one. I need to book an AirBnB in Florence, Italy for October for our nephew's wedding. I HATE picking AirBnBs in areas I've never been to.

I can commiserate on that one, my kid often comes home needing specific items for a band concert which turns out to be impossible to find at the time of year when the concert is happening. Good luck finding a long sleeve women’s black dress shirt or sweater in May or a black skirt in a reasonable length that DD will actually wear any time of the year. 🙄

I don't want to mow my yard that I'm fully capable of mowing, usually don't mind doing it and I love it when it's been mowed..
I just don't want to do it. It's hot,it's grown up because of all the rain we've had, and I'm tired and it's my day off and i don't want to....
I made a post on Facebook about it, hoping someone would offer-i can pay a little- but no one has offered.
Sigh.

Scrolling through comments on an article on Yahoo News, using my phone. I am reading a paragraph, scroll to read the rest of the paragraph, and the Yahoo page refreshes and goes back to the beginning of the comment section. Now I have to scroll down and hope I can find the comment I was in the middle of reading. After the third time it happened, I realized the universe was telling me to stop reading the comments and go do something else. UGH!

Good luck finding a long sleeve women’s black dress shirt or sweater in May or a black skirt in a reasonable length that DD will actually wear any time of the year. YES! That's the problem is that the request will be for something like khaki pants, which seems normal - except that both my kids loathe khaki pants. Or DD will get a request for a casual dress, or a semiformal dress, or any kind of dress - which she loathes and we don't keep on hand. (It was a huge deal that she decided to wear a dress to prom last year!) Neither of my kids like any kind of standard dress. We've worked out options for the rare occasion at home where they need to look nice, but it never seems to coincide with whatever is needed. We did get lucky, the rush-ordered Amazon shorts managed to arrive in time and even fit!

I was doing errands this morning. The grocery store only had 2 cashier lines open. I couldn't use the self-check as I was price matching from a different store. They used to have a 10 & under line but no more. I saved quite a bit of money and didn't need to go to 2 other stores, so there is that.
People who feel so entitled to refunds for stuff that they purchased and didn't like or didn't fit right. Take the time at the store to make sure that what you are buying is right for you. Stores don't have to refund you anything. Stop the cheating of returning something that isn't new and in new condition. Everyone else will pay a higher price to cover the cost of you being so entitled.

She only likes the kawaii anime stuff like cheerleader skirts (which are typically WAY too short for school or school events), striped knee highs, leg warmers and Mary Jane platform shoes, shirts with a lot of embellishments like bows and embroidery and puffed sleeves that look like the kind you’d put on a one year old a hundred years ago, or cargo pants. I guess I should count my blessings that she isn’t asking for $100 Lululemon leggings, Birkenstocks, etc. that so many of the other girls are wearing. 🙄

The extra hot, 10 day in a row, 100F weather caused a lot our tomatoes to crack and blister and split and become inedible and a lot of the new flowers died.

I have two old and sick pets. The cat is 15 and may or may not have hyperthyroidism. His blood values were all in line, but this one was in, but high. We started him on meds. last night and he is still attacking all of our food and crying alot. Our dog is 14 1/2, cardiac patient for 2 1/2 years and now crapping several times a week on our floors. Doctor put him on some meds and it is better "in form", but still doing it. We are just done. We love our pets but it is just disgusting. He has ruined our carpets. I am a firm believer of knowing when the time is "right" and have made good decisions with our previous pets, but have never had to deal with this. Our kids said it is not time yet for the dog. My daughter will be horrible when the cat dies and made me promise we will not make any rash decisions with him. I get it.

I'm tired of people just assuming everyone has certain articles of clothing just lying around. This happened to us a lot too! Especially once my girls were in high school and busy with activities! Thank goodness, there is a nice and large goodwill close to us! They have saved the day on the pink and purple striped Hawaiian shirts with sparkly sleeves more than once! LOL!! Hope the shorts work out for your DD!!

WHen they were in high school, I would contribute what I thought was a reasonable amount for shoes/leggings, etc and they could buy a nice pair OR they could add thier hard earned money with it and buy the fancy brands! LOL I was always suprised at the market these girls created of clothing they no longer wanted or fit right on them. They were always trading and buying/selling their clothes to get what they wanted! LOL

You know what color girls' of preschool age clothes do not come in? Even online? Green. I finally found a boys green t-shirt on clearance once and it was like winning the lottery...

LOL The clothes my kid likes are usually pretty inexpensive but the only places that sell it are like Ali Express or Amazon 3rd party sellers so it comes on a slow boat from China and takes weeks to arrive. And most of it is in foreign sizing so half of the time it doesn’t fit (even if you size up two sizes the fit is funky) once it does get here and sending it back is a pain. I really hate buying stuff from places like that and wish she could find the clothes she likes here.
