My girls wanted these things too! WHen they were in high school, I would contribute what I thought was a reasonable amount for shoes/leggings, etc and they could buy a nice pair OR they could add thier hard earned money with it and buy the fancy brands! LOL
My DDs knew mama didn't buy name brand stuff just for the sake of the name. Nope. My oldest,who is now 28, and I were talking about the $50 eyeshadow palette she wanted back in HS. I would not spend that much for eyeshadow, so she used her own hard earned money to buy it. My youngest wanted a pair of Chaco's sandals and I wouldn't buy them for her until her feet stopped growing
Now they're grown and make more money than I do, so they can buy whatever their little hearts desire!
