This is my first time doing the pre-order period and I have to say it was fun! I was going back and forth on what to get, or even to get anything at all, but of course then FOMO set in, plus I just love December and the participation in DD in general.
I got:
Main Kit

6x8 Transparencies

Advent Calendar (I ordered this year in November and really enjoyed it as my main Advent Calendar for December, plus the chocolate Lindt one from Costco)
I know I'll keep looking and wanting to add more, but I have to keep duties and taxes in mind for the shipment to Canada. It keeps me in check, or else I may have added everything lol.

The only tHing i wanted, the die cut pack, was sold out within seconds  I am not excited about Christmas this year. I will get FOMO when everythibg sells out, but also, I have sooooo much product from the past 10 years, so I will focus on using/selling that. It is about the memories, not the product. ( |

Im done with my orders, I think. 3 orders + got what I wanted. Main Kit - will sell parts of it Green Numbers Merry Merry Paper 6x8 transparency - wasn't going to get, but ended up getting it Large Vellum Pieces - will sell some of these Holiday Stories Paper (mainly got since it has digitals) Scallop 2x2 squares - will sell 1/2 of them Chipboard Phrases Die Cut Paper Pack - will sell some of these I didn't get an album yet. Still on the fence about which 6x8 I want to use. I know you’ve mentioned you typically sell the items you know you won’t use. I’ve always considered this, but didn’t know where a good spot to list them would be. Do you mind sharing where you typically have luck reselling your Ali products? The Ali Edwards buy/sell FB group and here. |

I would LOVE a thread on Dec Daily prompts for empty nesters. We will have them home by mid-month, but I'd love for those who have done this before to share prompts or ideas they have used. Last Christmas was my first empty nester Christmas so my album might give you some ideas. I think my daughter came home from college on the 10th? This year she doesn't "come home" at all... just staying for the 24-25 (her college/apartment is local). I will likely see her a few other days, but not for most of the days. My flip through of last year is on my youtube @lindalovescreating. Oh, I LOVE your albums - Just watched your 2023 flip through a few days ago - and had forgotten that you were an empty nester until you just posted  . I used your DD prep posts so MUCH last year and was just thinking I need to go back and watch your videos. Thanks so much for the reminder post . |

This will be my third dd album- and all have been with an empty nest. I have lots (too many) ideas for pages. My favorite part is coming up with page ideas. Then I kind of procrastinate making them. lol

I converted the time it would go live with an app and it said 7 pm Paris time. Well, it wasn't. It's fine because I wasn't sure I'd buy anything. I've been thinking about it for the last hour. I find everything so expensive that I'm not ordering. Feeling a bit of FOMO. And again, if the 4x6 album had been made to pair with the 3x8 contents, I'd have taken the plunge. But c'est la vie.

Not surprised about the tree album selling out first, even though Ali is using the red one. I saw several people comment about getting it for something other than DD. I got it for some of our trips to the Black Hills to visit DS at school. If it had the slightest hint of Christmas I think it wouldn't have sold out so fast.

I considered getting the mini album for a different project, but it seems too Christmasy to me--maybe because I had the very similar floral album in 2022. Glad you could get the tree album. With $13.00 shipping, it makes sense to get at least one album to justify the cost. |

I forgot to post my list:
red album (for DD)
tree album (for a camping trip, we do long ones)
the die cut pages (my first time with these!)
the 3X8s (too many for too much but I will use these and I love them this year)
the scallop 3X4 tags
the scallop 2X2 plastic tags
tab stickers
green numbers (not a one of you has ever seen me pass on numbers before)
advent calendar (hope it's good. I only watched the first sneak and I was sold. Stopped there as I like the surprise).
Currently at $191 and will be at my $209 prediction when that stupid glass goes in the box.
I don't have any xmas glasses like that. I have mugs. I have a few weird odds and ends in cups and dishes but I think that will be useful. I often drink out of a water bottle so the cats don't drink from it (demons).
You guys I'm so excited. I love everything in my cart. I figured out a way to make a few things that I love but that I'm too cheap to buy.
I hate that it's only August!
But I also hate winter so....

I was able to snag the main kit, the mini kit, the 6x4 album, the green felt numbers, and the scalloped plastic squares. It's my first time ordering a main kit. I'm still debating adding the Advent calendar and the puffy number stickers. I got it last year, and I've already watched the video of this year's. There's a couple of really cute things I'd love to have. We'll see. I logged on at 7am and was checked out by 7:01. Super easy.

I made the mistake of watching Ali’s video where she stamped on, and decorated the wood veneer stars, and it looked so fun that I caved and bought them. And, since I was placing a second order🙈…I grabbed the 3x8 card set, and the plastic tags. I initially skipped out on both of those because of the quantity, but I think I’ll make an effort this year to sell some of the excess I know I won’t use. I already know there are quite a few pieces in the die cut set I probably wouldn’t use, so we’ll see if I follow through 😂

To get or not get the main kit… that is the question.
Half of the items I LOVE and half are a “sell straight away” item.
Some items I can make on my own but will I?
Is this just fomo?
Am I only interested as the last few years I’ve really not liked the main kit so I’m scared I’ll miss something I actually do like?
If only I knew an Aussie pea interested in going halves or in what I don’t want to make the decision easier!

I was happy to get checked out so fast this morning, I think I was done in 3 minutes. We’re in the middle of house projects, painting, etc. but dropped everything to get online before 10. I placed 3 orders, I was afraid things would sell out, but I did get what I wanted.
10x8 album
Main Kit
6x12 page protectors (for other purposes)
Merry paper pack (so happy I added this!)
Die cut papers (completely last minute decision)
Tab stickers
Phrase stickers
And the 6x8 page attachers
Spent a little more than I intended, but I think the die cut papers will be fun to use in the 10x8. I also expect this holiday to be eventful for my family so I want to capture everything.

I believe she said during one of the Instagram story that it mostly be last year's DD items with a few other shop items thrown in. |

I’m sorry to ask this, I’m sure it’s been asked many times, the search wasn’t helpful. The $5 prep day class, what is everyone’s opinion of it? I have done prep day since 2019. The format has been different with having some other people "host" it a few times which some loved and some did not. Ali is back to hosting it with some guests, that happened last year, and the content is more consistent with her in that role. I think just the digital files you get are well worth the $5 plus the ideas. Even if you don't like half of the content, you are still getting 10 hours of content (including a Q&A) and digital files for each hour. I have had to just listen to the recorded sessions a few years due to conflicts and it was still 100% worth it. They also do a great job of covering different topics throughout the day - ideas for stories, page ideas, mixed media, how to finish, etc. It is just a great way to get inspired and I love it even when I cannot listen until later. I just looked through last year's downloads and there are quotes, cut files, digital papers and step by step instructions for projects as well as some story/journaling ideas. In fact, I am probably going to go back through several of these + some of the older classes for some inspo during September . |
