Good morning.
Thinking of our dear, sweet sueg today and sending her healing thoughts and prayers. May you rest well and be comfortable. Wishing you an easy recovery.
I really hope that some of our good news from yesterday rubs off on us today.
We have some peas who are really struggling w/serious illness. Let's keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
Dinner will be whatever dh wants to fix for himself. Covid sucks. Kids, don't try this at home. Seriously, it's the small stuff, but very annoying.

Happy Thursday! scrapmaven it really does suck. Rest up! Thinking positive thoughts for everyone that needs them. There seems to be a lot going on in our tribe. It was nice yesterday to hear so many positive things healthwise from our group. Slow day in the office so here I am. I have an online class to take this afternoon. I am afraid it is going to be pretty boring. The weather here has turned cool. I actually put a jacket on when I left this morning. I know a lot of you are ready for summer to be gone but I am not one of those. I hold on to it as long as I can. I invited YDS over for dinner tonight. Haven't seen him in a while. We will have pork chops on the grill and asparagus. He and I both love asparagus so I try to fix it when he is over. Hoping everyone has a lovely day! |

I'm heading out to try a new aqua class: Aqua Chi. It's like Tai Chi only in the water. Should be interesting. Dinner might be Jalapeno Chicken Poppers. Or whatever it's called. Thinking of all our Peas who need prayers, hugs and good thoughts.  |

Thinking positive thoughts for you scrapmaven, sueg and everyone else who is dealing with all kinds of stuff!!! I didn't post yesterday because I was super busy ... went to the dentist for the first time in FOREVER ... I'm dentist - phobic and I had been putting it off ... I have very crowded, soft teeth and they are breaking down ... it is freaking me out ... I had to force myself to go ... I need a ton of work but my dentist is awesome ... she is caring and will do everything she can to keep my anxiety at a minimum ... I go back in a week to get things started ... fun times.  Then the dd's came over so that we could talk about our upcoming "Staycation" this weekend and go and buy some drinks and snacks to take to the hotel with us ... we are all so excited!  Today, I am picking up a prescription and taking my girlfriend to see another apartment ... she saw a great one yesterday but many people looked at it so the landlord may not choose her ... My mum is coming over for dinner tonight because her residence is serving Butter Chicken for dinner and there is no way in hell she will eat that ... silly woman!  I'll let her decide what we eat when she gets here ... |

Thank you leannec . I'm cringing about your poor teeth. I'm also dental phobic, but I go anyway, because I dread what will happen if I don't. I feel for you as you go through all of the dental work that you need. Though your dentist sounds very kind and reassuring. Just remember that nowadays things are much easier than they were when we were kids. Your weekend sounds like good fun. I hope you'll enjoy every second w/your dd's. What do you think is preventing your friend from finding housing? Is it her lack of income? Where is she living now?
cadoodlebug, please let us know how your new aqua class goes. I did Tai Chi for a bit and it's very relaxing. I can only imagine how relaxing it will be in a pool.

Covid sucks. Kids, don't try this at home. I'm sorry you are feeling so lousy. Rest, hydrate, rest. I am sending all my good vibes to sueg! I cannot wait to hear from her. I'm having another weird day at work today. It goes like this...slow, slow, slow, somebody reaches out and needs something super fast, and then slow, slow. It keeps repeating. Hahaha! I think the thing is I have no project work right now, so I'm dependent on someone bouncing me something. And lately everyone needs something lightning quick too. I've got those African yellow beans in my crockpot. I'm going to make them with a paprika, the royco spice, coconut cream sauce. Then some coconut rice and wilted collard greens. I even thought, what the hell, make a plantain. So I'm going all out! Fingers crossed it's good. I saw this morning that The Birdhouse Lady called me adventurous. It made me smile. Because yes, I am adventurous, however, I always know I could spend two hours cooking and have something be a total flop too. Then it's sandwiches. LOL! |

the air quality today is 174!!!! wildfire smoke. so I am not doing much other than a pedicure this morning and housecleaning. dh is coming with me and getting a foot massage.
I was going to go clothes shopping but not with this air.
I'm thinking dinner will be takeout.

jeremysgirl , maybe you missed your calling as a chef. You are adventurous and your meals always look delicious. I can't stop picturing that chocolate zucchini cake. OMG! Mercury is retrograde. Maybe that's the reason for your wonky work week?

Butter chicken is so delicious, though.  Then the dd's came over so that we could talk about our upcoming "Staycation" this weekend and go and buy some drinks and snacks to take to the hotel with us ... we are all so excited! Yay! This should be super fun! You can stay up late and talk about boys. Then write on the face of the first person who falls asleep with lipstick. Hahaha...I'm just kidding. My sister from the east coast arrived back here last night. Yes, she was just here last month, too. These people seem to think I’m dying or something … 🤪 (Just for the record, I continue to look and feel fine.) Dinner tonight is supposed to be our annual sibling dinner (there are 4 of us) at Trader Vic’s. But since one of us has been sidelined with COVID, that’s probably not happening. If not, then the rest of us will eat at our favorite local Mexican restaurant. My mom (who is not invited to the sibling dinner) has been campaigning for that. Best wishes to sueg and everyone else with medical/dental issues today. |

scrapmaven I saw a woman on Threads last night asking how much people would be willing to pay for someone to prepare them home cooked meals on weeknights and I'll just say that if it had any chance of making me as money as working in finance, I'd totally be on it. But...I can't shop for groceries. 🤣 We all know how I am in the store.

But...I can't shop for groceries. 🤣 We all know how I am in the store. I could totally see you as a caterer or personal chef. Don't discount it. My mother's bff made a nice living w/her catering business. She catered my Bat Mitzvah and it was delicious and the food looked so pretty. She had her kitchen re-done to handle her catering business. |

scrapmaven unfortunately all the fresh corn is past. leannec I can so relate with going to the dentist. My dentist retired a little over a year ago and I have not found another one in network yet. They are all booked up. I need to make it a priority though.

Happy Thursday! Sending lots of healing thoughts to those who need them! I've had a busy morning but the afternoon should be lighter. I'm working on Social this week which I enjoy so that makes the time go by faster. Tonight is our wine club pickup party so I'll go with my sisters and we'll grab dinner after. It's going to be 103 here today so we'll definitely be sitting inside. I'm so ready for October when it will "only" be in the 80s Hope you all have a great day! |

scrapmaven, the Aqua Chi was fun. I didn't know any of the moves so it was a tad hard trying to copy the instructor but if I keep going, it will become easier. It was relaxing.

Two of my sisters announced their visits when I was diagnosed and came separately to help through my initial chemo rounds and then again post-surgery. DH was initially panicked over the idea of having to "host" anyone but quickly realized how helpful it was to have them here, mostly so he could go off on two hour bikes rides guilt free. We would have managed fine without them, but they needed to see for themselves that (except for the week of chemo brain/fatigue) I was just fine. I did love having them here because they are awesome people. Hoping you continue looking and feeling fine.  Thanks to everyone sharing my joy yesterday!!! Thinking about you today, sueg, and hoping you are already on your way to an easy recovery. Any update on when your DH is going to move to rehab, **GypsyGirl**? As a survivor of childhood dental trauma, I share your phobia, leannec. It sounds like you have a great dentist to take you through treatment.  I have no idea what is for dinner tonight. DH is heading to the airport from my doctor's appointment this afternoon and only one of the kids is home for dinner, so my motivation is super low to do anything more than cheese, crackers and fruit. |

I was out early for a 4+ mile walk with my DF and he corgi....On the way homeI stopped at the fish market, so dinner will be baked stuffed haddock, now that the weather has cooled I won't mind the oven on!!
