We used to use the Target Pharmacy. The service was great, the employees were happy and were there a long time. We really liked it. Then Target replaced their pharmacy with CVS. Staff turns over a lot, they don’t seem happy. The pharmacists are fine, but again, don’t seem happy. Our local Walgreens feels the same.
Local pharmacies seem to have intermittent difficulties stocking for the meds my son and DH takes. We’ve tried to use them, but reliability for meds you need to be healthy and function are important, so back to CVS we went.

For my maintenance drugs I have to use CVS Caremark Mail Order for a 3 month supply. I can also use the CVS/Target locally to get a 3 month supply.
For a one off prescription, I can use any local pharmacy.

Independent pharmacies for life.
My family has owned a small-town drug store my whole life… my grandparents bought it in 1968, and my uncle was the pharmacist. He retired a few years ago, and sold the pharmacy portion of the business to another pharmacist (who actually lived next door to me in my previous house), enabling my family to keep the restaurant and general store running in the original location.
I recognize that I’m not the average consumer, but I don’t think I will ever fill a prescription with a chain or mail-order company if I have a choice.

I used the pharmacy in my grocery store.. then they shut down. so now I use walgreens, cause the insurance likes it. they aren't too bad.. just super super busy. no drive throughs in my town. they do have a 24 hour store I could use if I had to. they auto refill, they text when ready and I have a week to pick them up.
I have used an independent pharmacy when I am out of town, and just transfer the prescriptions back and forth.

For Rx we use Food City, and love, love the service. They know me when I walk up, and there is seldom any wait. Truly personalized service. For our OTC we use CVS due to insurance coverage which gives us a quarterly allotment. So all our OTC needs are basically free.

Drugstore items—Walgreens and Target
Rx—“other”. We get them from the pharmacy at our clinic (it’s also the closest to our home and we can walk to it)

I use Walgreens for "regular" medication
Express Scripts (not by choice) for a specialty medication (Enbrel)
I get OTC stuff generic through Amazon but just got a costco membership and am going to do some price checking

The majority of RX I get at a grocery store pharmacy. Another is from an independent compounding pharmacy.
Most of my drug store items come from Costco. What I can't get there, I get from my grocery store or Walmart.

My Part D is through Express Scripts but I found that Costco drug program is 50% less on the most expensive rx. We use Walgreens for diabetic test strips. Costco and Amazon for OTC.

Several years ago I ran into issues with first Walgreens, then CVS over my med. I went to Rite Aid , and haven't had a single problem since. I am very loyal to them. The pharmacists know me, and if any issue arises they let me know ahead of time as best as possible. They are having business, or corporate type issues, so I do try my best to get other stuff there too.

My health insurance to supplement Medicare is with Kaiser. I had been signed up with Kaiser through my job when I changed companies in the 90s and was very happy with them. I liked having all services in the same building or at least very close by. It reminded me of the way the Mayo Clinic was run during my son’s cancer treatment. I like that I can email my doctor with questions and have my prescriptions mailed to me. I even get a text reminder when a medication is able to be refilled. In California, there were certain strong pain meds that they could not mail and I had to get those in person and show my ID. But here in Oregon, I was very surprised that they will mail out all my meds, even the powerful pain meds. I do appreciate not having to go pick them up every 28 days but I admit to being a little scared that they might get stolen. If they do, it won’t be from my porch because my dog lets me know when anyone steps foot on the property. He is a very diligent little watch dog and I know something has been delivered, whether mail service or Amazon, so I retrieve it immediately. For anything nonprescription, I typically order through Costco and get delivered with my grocery order via Instacart. If I am not due for a grocery order, I order from Amazon. I did use the local Walgreens that is very close to the house a few times but my preference is Costco for the bigger bottles of nonprescription drugs. We like our Walgreens for prescriptions. The pharmacists are super nice and they know us and our dog (who gets her phenobarb from the people pharmacy). That said, I rarely buy OTC stuff there. When I do, it’s because they’re running a BOGO deal on something I need and I happen to see it while I’m there. Mostly I go through the drive-thru, though.

I like CVS much better but alas, the City of New York says we must use Walgreens for RXs through my husband's job so that is where I get meds. nothing else. CVS offers way better coupons and there is one directly next door to my gym.

Due to my insurance I have to get my prescriptions at CVS and I hate it. My adult daughter and I both have Blue Cross through our employers and she has to get her prescriptions at CVS. She hates it. I had never heard of having to get your meds at a particular pharmacy before. I use Kroger. It's convenient due the location and also it's where I buy my groceries.

Not living in the US, I don’t have most of the options listed, but it doesn’t matter - prescriptions here cost the same wherever you get them due to our health insurance system. There is a small independent just across the road from my GP, so it makes sense to just go there. OTC meds like ibuprofen etc have to be bought in pharmacies as well, so I get everything together. I occasionally use an online pharmacy for OTC, as my local is really small and doesn’t stock everything. For things like vitamins and other supplements, I go to a ‘Drogerie’ - mine is called DM (for Drogerie Markt - very original!).

I get my scripts at Walmart as that is my plans preferred provider. I pick up my supplements at Walgreens on their 2 for one sales. I try to get my glucosamine chondroitin at Costco as recommended by my orthopedist.

When the Walgreens in the neighborhood closed, we switched to Rite Aid. By the looks of the shelves, it’s seems they will be closing sometime soon. I guess we’ll have to switch to CVS.

We have used the same Rite Aid, at the corner, since 1978. Many Rite Aids, all over, have closed, and I hope this one survives. But if not, I’ll go to an independent!

My rituxan must come from CVS Speciality pharmacy according to insurance. It's a pain because now they will only send me a month at a time instead of 3 months and it has to be signed for. So every month I spend the whole day waiting for UPS to come.
All my other meds I get from a local independent pharmacy and a compounding pharmacy.

Prescriptions by mail by Kaiser. OTC it just depends - Walmart, Target, Costco or Sam’s. I have only been in cvs or Walgreens a few times and not really a fan. With all the closings I’m thankful I haven’t had to rely on them for prescriptions.

Another Kaiser member here so prescriptions are through them (although I've never done mail order like those above have mentioned, we just pick it up at the pharmacy when we're there--of course, none of my family has any regular prescriptions so it's only when we're already seeing a doctor). Oldest kid no longer has Kaiser so she gets her meds filled at CVS which is walking distance from our house. Non-prescription stuff I typically just buy at the grocery store because I'm too lazy to walk over to the CVS in the same shopping center to save a buck.

We get Rx's from mail order connected to our medical plan. For OTC stuff, Target is usually the cheapest. Plus I can order online and pick up. For vitamins, Costco.

DH uses Costco for his meds since they're cheaper there. I use Meijer for DD's because they are free and I receive mperks points for each one.

I usually like my local pharmacy but they have trouble getting my meds..so currently Safeway's pharmacy has been my best luck. Probably the one I would have avoided the most, but beggars can't be choosers.

I picked Walgreens and other. I get my prescriptions from Walgreens but it was RiteAid when I started. The main reason is that it is the closet pharmacy to my house. Being a single person I typically have to go get my own medicines and drugstore items and if I am sick I want to go the least distance. This is literally about 1 mile down the road and I don’t even have to turn onto a main road.
Over the counter stuff - it depends. If it is something I need now I don’t care how much it cost me typically, I want most convenient and that would be Walgreens. If it is daily stuff or things I can stock up on Costco or grocery stores are probably more likely where I would go, but truthfully it is usually whereever I happen to be when I think about it other than a very few specific items.
