I have a Samsung Galaxy S22. I'm sure iPhones have a similar feature. While on our latest trip, I discovered the *erase* feature. There always seem to be people/objects in photos that you wish you could erase. I never knew this feature was always there. I have had so much fun getting rid of everything I want ~ mostly people but I just removed a pink pole next to me in a photo.  |

Same phone here. It will also erase reflections in photos. I agree on the object eraser being a great thing.
Did you know you can also long press on an object in a photo and it pulls just that out and keeps an image of it. Like I have photos of my pups. I can long press on her and it is just a photo of the dog. It can become a sticker to use elsewhere or just be an image of her.

Is that possible on an iPhone? I took some photos this weekend that have some people that I would like to remove and a few with my finger. 🤦🏻♀️ Don't judge. We were in a kayak with some major waves. 🙂

The native Photos app does not do it. You can however make stickers. Just press down on the image and it turns that image into a sticker. |

Hopefully they will make it available on the next iPhone / iOS update. I do all of that kind of stuff in Photoshop, but it would be so handy to be able to do it on my phone. |

How do you simply erase someone? How do you erase a reflection? I guess I'd better Google!
ETA it's actually easy, I was able to figure it out right away. I just have always used an app for that. Well what do you know, you really do learn something new every day!

My ds, the only non-Apple person in our family, showed me this feature on his phone just a few weeks ago. Normally the rest of us in the family act annoyingly superior since we know our iPhones are better than his Android  -- but in this case he has one up on us. haha But I'd love to be able to do this even if I have to use an app. |

Other good ones are TouchRetouch, Adobe Photoshop Fix, Magic Eraser, and VSCO. Search for “photo eraser” in the App Store. I like Snapseed, but I don’t use it a lot. I don’t eraser a lot of people and I usually use the desktop version of Photoshop for my photo editing. |

Like being able to move your home screen icons anywhere, leaving space if you want. Then there's the bubble colors 🙄. I can change the colors of my text bubbles myself and have different colors for different conversations. I am looking forward to when apple finally UPDATES their texting programing so that it can join those of us on Android in this decade and have easier cross platform communication. |

That is supposed to be corrected when Apple changes the texting platform they are currently using. |

We have a family group text and messages fly. Sharing quality photos/video is a big one. Apple does something that degrades the quality. Actually texting not an issue. But I guess there's some thing about when there's a non Apple in a text group it makes it so that certain things can't be done. Also reactions can be weird. Sometimes they show up connected to a comment other time it says "loved an image". Then of course the colored bubbles. I know for kids is a big deal with just adds unneeded social pressure. It's just annoying especially since Apple is the one with the old tech but every one thinks it is the bees knees 😝. |

Apple does something that degrades the quality. iPhones and Androids have different compression methods, which is why photos/videos sent between the two devices are often blurry. |

I splurged and got the 8 Pro this last time and the camera is wonderful! I have been using Google's suite of products (Docs, sheets, slides, etc) exclusively for over 12 yrs way before I got a Google phone. The streamline of all being Google is so nice (similar to Apple I'd guess). And no bloatware from the carrier is such a bonus. But I never recommend people changing platforms unless they are committed to learning a new phone. Not everyone is open to that or realizes how some basic functionality is different. I try to help Mil with her iPhone and can only navigate so far before I have to call in a kid to help or my SIL who has an iPhone. I've never owned one so haven't played with it long enough for the basics to get in my brain. Had a Mac in my classroom and really tried so hard for a few years to master it and always struggled to find basic systems controls that to me where in the most illogical location. But I grew up with a PC from the beginning, we had one in the mid 80s. |

The Clean Up tool is part of the redesign of Photos for IOS 18. It's scheduled to be released in mid to late September. I can't wait! There's a public Beta available now but a bit scared to go that route  |
