And this is what I will never understand about these people -- re: the claim that the Democratic convention was "dark and ominous." In the face of so much joy and excitement, how can they deny what's in front of their face? Every single media outlet who covered the convention had the same videos and photos. Do they think that it was all controlled by.... who? Harris and her team I guess. Well this is not North Korea (although they probably would love it to be like that, as long as they were in charge), how do they think every news outlet, except theirs of course, is reporting something different from "dark and ominous"? I will never understand it.

Vance knows they are losing. I don't think he knows what "dark and ominous" look like. I am sure he can check Kamala's website for details if he is really curious.
I love Mayor Pete so much.
Oprah was awesome!
Walz's speech was almost the same as he gave in Nebraska. He did add a few things. Loved it! His son! <3

The announcers on the floor were enjoying the convention. They didn’t really say anything negative about any of the speeches. They loved Stevie Wonder. They showed everything going on, a lively bright convention. It is one reason I kept watching their feed because it seemed to be a normal bipartisan feed. Nothing dark and ominous. But when they would cut back to the studio, Sean Hannity was all pissy and negative about the event. I guess Hannity and Vance were watching something else.

Updated: for the moment it seems the video has been removed. Republicans have no boundaries not even with kids... Conservative author Ann Coulter lashed out at the son of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz for becoming emotional during his dad's speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). As his father spoke on the third day of the convention, Gus Walz could be seen crying and saying, "That's my dad." *** The following day, Coulter mocked Gus Walz's tears on X (formerly Twitter). "Talk about weird," she wrote. Coulter was quickly condemned for her remarks. *** "A son emotionally moved by a father who he clearly loves is weird to you? That’s petty and not helpful to whatever point you’re trying to make on the election," journalist Brennan Stultz wrote. www.rawstory.com/ann-coulter-gus-walz/*** During the entirety of the speech, the impact on Gus was clear and, following its end, he joined his family onstage for an affectionate embrace with his father. High school senior Gus, who is living with a non-verbal learning disability, ADHD, and anxiety disorder, is regarded by his parents not as challenged, but uniquely empowered. His intellectual gifts have been highlighted in a People magazine feature, where they spoke of his strengths, signaling optimism about his bright futureand even mentioned his recent milestone of obtaining a driver's license last autumn. www.the-express.com/news/politics/146600/tim-walz-s-17-year-old-son-breaks-down-tears-father-s-dnc-speechx.com/AnnCoulter/status/1826628651380781354

Harris/Walz must win. Even if Gus wasn't non verbal/ADHD/living with an anxiety disorder his tearing up and saying "that's my dad" would be heartwarming. But knowing that he is considered nonverbal and was able to be in that massive crowd with an anxiety disorder? Seeing how proud and moved Gus was? It was a beautiful display of love.

People like this drive me nuts. So these people claim they won’t vote for Harris unless she supports an arms embargo against Israel. I wonder if these folks stopped and considered trump and what he would do about an arms embargo against Israel and his buddy? As to denying their request to allow a Palestinian speaker, there is none from either Ukraine or Israel either. ABC News. “Outside the DNC center Wednesday, delegates from the uncommitted movement, whose support of Vice Pres. Harris is contingent on her support of an arms embargo on Israel, said that the DNC had denied their request to have a Palestinian speaker on stage.” x.com/abc/status/1826655604019970050?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

Ann Coulter is a conservative troll who became famous for nasty soundbite commentary. I haven't heard anything about her in years, so going after a kid must be a failed attempt to become relevant again. So sad and desperate, but we ARE talking about her so job done.

He seems really old tonight- older than Biden! His hands are shaking. He’s got some great jabs at trump tho. His speech is a little long winded tho… compared to Hilary’s which was awesome! Totally agree! Bill Clinton was the first president I voted for and he was such a great orator back in the day. Last night he was just very old. I'm sad to say his speech, while it had great content, really brought down the vibe of the whole event. I'm glad he wasn't up there for very long.

Laura Loomer is right there with ,Coulter.. Responses from some of her people were not good.. Lorreta Faucher went further and addressed Loomer with, "Laura, your lack of empathy is no surprise, given you were clearly born as a vile, hateful spawn. We all know you weren’t loved as a child, and it shows in every venomous word you spew. You couldn’t recognize genuine emotion or human decency if it smacked you in the face. The fact that you can’t even comprehend the difference between a real, heartfelt moment and the cultish tears of Trump worshippers says everything about your twisted, empty soul." "It’s obvious your unresolved trauma has left you unable to empathize or show kindness to anyone," Texas Trey wrote. "Psychopaths have no empathy, so it's not really an option for you." Twit for Democracy suggested. www.rawstory.com/gus-walz/x.com/LauraLoomer/status/1826579453926867159

The thing that is striking to me about the differences between the RNC and the DNC is that former President Bush did not speak nor have I heard of any endorsement of our 34 felony conviction former president. Here we have Biden (I know still president)Obama and Clinton speaking at the DNC.
I think it is very telling when Bush isn't out there campaigning.

Honestly, if *adults* in the audience had been crying during any of the DNC speeches, I would have thought that was weird, too. Over the top. We’re excited, but not a cult.
But leave Walz’s special needs son alone. What is wrong with those people? I think they just can’t imagine a dad who says on TV that they love their family. Trump would never.

I did see one lady crying. Don’t remember who or what speech it was during, but i wouldn’t be surprised if there were more people who shed a tear or two. It was an emotional night and people there were fueled by a lot of excitement and feelings.

I it’s so refreshing to see candidates that really are for the people, and are exciting, and wholesome, and relatable. While I loved Biden, the energy for Harris and walz is different and I can see other people embracing the joy and hope that a compassionate, kind, joyous, servant warrior team brings. I’m not used to hope. It scares me a little because I’ve been so discouraged and afraid for the future. So I cry. But I’m also the type of person who cried over those schmaltzy “reach and touch someone” long distance telephone commercials so I’m probably not representative of most people.

I've heard that P!nk is tonight's special guest. And I'm thrilled. She was brilliantly human and moving when when she spoke at the White Women for Kamala event, having just finished a concert in Sweden and while flying back to the U.S.
I'm also hoping that VEEP Julia Louis Dreyfus is the one who will introduce Kamala tonight.
LOVED so many of the speakers, and think Oprah knocked it out of the ball park last night.
Feeling very hopeful AND know that we all have to do every single thing we can to work for victory in November!!! This is still an extremely close race and we know that the other side will try a lot of illegal tactics to discount legitimate votes, etc.
We're home in Canada and couldn't watch on MSNBC last night. CNN coverage... we saw it for a few minutes and I was disgusted by the vile anti Biden/Harris ad they ran with the DNC stage and logo in the background. Then watched all of the major speakers on NBC.

For Kamala Harris’s family this is somewhat familiar territory. Being the governor of MN is just kind of a bigger profile than usual job - his kids and wife could be their usual selves and he really could too. I really don’t think that he had aspirations for something like this - it just kind of suddenly happened to him. I think when he first started doing the appearances on the news he was genuinely trying to help Kamala and figured he was a long shot for the VP slot. When he was selected he had never even used a teleprompter and then just 15 days or so later he is up on the stage accepting the nomination for VP after a whirlwind of days leading up to this moment. I can’t even imagine what that must feel like to see your dad/spouse in that situation. Gus did a pretty good job showing us all what that kind of pride looks like and his mom and sister didn’t try to get him to tone it down. It was incredibly moving.
