There is a sickness in our society. I still can't believe this election is even close. The party who pretty much got Trump elected by chanting "Lock her up!" (Which Trump now denies doing himself!) is still supporting him. I do see way less Trump signs than I have in the past, so some people have wizened up. Last weekend, I drove to a nearby winery. There is a huge house on a huge piece of property along the way that for years has had HUGE Trump banner in the yard. Last weekend, we noticed it's no longer there. I don't know if people are truly backing away from him or if they are afraid for people to know they still support him. I truly don't see how anyone with a brain cell can still support that horrible man. I'm fearful of what my mental health will be like if he wins and I have to not only listen to that moron buffoon for the next four years but also have to see my family members gloat and say things like Jesus won. UGH. I don't know how true Christians can think Trump is the savior of the world. I my mind, he is the antithesis of Jesus.

I think Hilary's mistake is that she did not hit the swing states. That is where Trump spent him time and money. Harris isn't making that mistake. I also am not going to worry about polls because polls don't vote.

No matter what the polls say we need to get out snd vote. Even if the polls show a landslide. We need to vote there needs to be so many that it’s obvious we won and make it harder for him to try and steal it. We know he has people willing to not certify in many key areas. I feel so much better than I did before Harris and before there was so much obvious support but I won’t feel better until I know she has won.
I had never watched a convention before this one and it was really amazing. I loved her speech and all the energy.

I think there are an awful lot of people who are like us who want to bring that mother trucker to his knees. Her team knows what they are doing. I think they have a general map for the next several weeks to keep the energy going. This is not a sugar high. I am not only voting on the first day that I can, I am going to work on persuadable voters. I’ve donated enough $. I am putting time in now.

She was outstanding. My hope is that there are persuadable Republicans out there. It feels like this team/campaign could bring them in. I read today that in Texas, people who had previously planned to vote for Kennedy are breaking 2-1 for Kamala when asked who they will vote for now. That’s positive. Harris is polling about 5 points behind Trump in Texas right now. The senate election is tighter. Since poll takers skew older and whiter, it’s probably closer than that. Turnout will be key.

I really think some people chose not to vote because they thought Clinton would win. Yesterday Ana Navarro posted on IG saying that she talked to Hillary at the convention and Hillary said that for years people came up to her saying that they didn’t vote because they thought it would be a landslide and they felt bad about that. People probably get busy that day and decide that it doesn’t matter because everyone else is voting. Big mistake. That’s also why I always tell people here that even if they think their vote doesn’t matter in their state, they still need to vote because you just never know what can happen.

I signed up to receive 200 (gulp...I think some friends will help) postcards to send to voters. It was indicated that your Texas senate race is one of a possible few races I'll be assigned to. It was there, Florida, and one other state (maybe it was PA) which I am totally blanking on. Anyhow...fingers crossed for your state this election season.

Also, I came to this thread to see what was discussed about Gus Walz. I am so grossed out by the right. Just disgusted. Years ago I thought "things can't get lower than this." But then they do.
I cannot wait to see this party's asses kicked to the curb. And I hope that when this is over, somehow, the right will regroup into a sane (though still disagreeable, don't get me wrong) party.
Get to work girls!

I know I speak for several thousand people in saying, "I want him out of my life,my news, and any mention of him." I thought I heard he would leave the US if he lost the election. Of course I also read that he plans to fight if he loses. He is already predicting general "unrest" if he loses. My theory is this: I think they are underestimating the polls. I believe Kamala will win mightily and the election will be a total embarrassment for our 34 felony convicted former president. At least I hope so.

Get to work girls! I'm from MN and I don't think Walz can get any better. The story is now that he borrowed/withdrew $135,000 from his retirement to pay for college for his daughter. No deep pockets there.

Didn’t he say that if he lost we would never hear from him again? I just want to go back to normal and not be worried about what is going to come out of my president’s mouth. What rights he is going to take away and things he plans to dismantle. Like others have said. His past administration kept him in check a bit but they won’t be there so he won’t have them as guardrails and he will attempt to do all the awful things he thinks about. Add in all the revenge he thinks he deserves. Well we all know many of his plans.

I hope it’s so overwhelming that there is no doubt who won. You know he is already planning to disrupt things in key states if he loses them. I am in a heavily red part of my state snd knowing how crazy and gun happy some are I am just keeping my head down. I also know that California is voting blue anyways it would be different if I lived in a battleground state.

Tearisci and Lurkingpea , I signed up at: turnoutpac.org/postcards/I have no idea if this is the *best.* If you google "send postcards to swing states" several options will come up. I hope everyone who can will write postcards. It's super easy and does make a difference. Please note, you will need to provide the postage. Postcards stamps are .53 each.

I want to add one more thing. My son (also in a blue state) is volunteering to make phone calls to swing state voters. It's set up through his university alumni association. He is a former actor with an engaging personality, so this is right up his alley. If you, or someone you know loves engaging with folks in person/over the phone...please suggest it to them. A quick google will bring up those organizations as well.

I'd love to see him go, but I don't believe anything he says. Besides, he's out on bond, so he's prohibited from leaving the country, if I understand that correctly.

Regrettably for us, that never happened.
