And I am not a girlie girl, but I dont do mice, thanks to Stephen King. I have him trapped under a bowl in my tub, but now what?

I don't know, but I wanted to say I'm sorry. This would have given me the willies, too. I live in an older home, and it seems at certain times of the year we get them.

Try and slide something flat under the bowl. Keep hold of that, flip it over. Rush outside and release him into the wild (where he should have stayed). And then clean and disinfect the bathtub, maybe the whole bathroom.

If you can't slide something under the bowl and get it out yourself, can you call a neighbor? I don't do mice either. I would totally call my brothers if my DH wasn't home.

I agree with Brenda, slide something stiff like a piece of heavy cardboard under the bowl to trap him inside, then get the little critter back into the out!
And as much as I hate to say it, but if I found one mouse in my house I’d be putting up some traps in strategic places. If you see one, there are probably more hiding elsewhere. At least that has always been my experience and if you don’t get rid of them all the problem compounds. 😬 Our neighbor at the lake trapped something like 26 of them this summer because her nephew who opened up the place for her didn’t do anything when he saw evidence of them inside early in the spring.

Burn the house down. Obviously.
I'm sure many will disagree...but just put a bunch of snap traps in the tub. Throw the trap and mouse away then bleach the shit out of the tub.

A stiff piece of cardstock or like a side of a cereal box is best. That's what we used when I had one trapped the sink 6 years ago, pervious apartment. Maintenance threw him outside, he or his friends came back.
The exterminator put down bait traps. Mice run along the baseboards. Several died from the bait. I had to check dozens of packed boxes for moving to be sure none had gotten in them.
Note I was the last occupied apartment in my building so we figured why they can to me. I had had none previously.

After you get him out definitely set out traps... im cruel and inhumane and would do glue traps.. they are easier to handle... but you do hear the little mice scream...
Get you some nitrile gloves from walmart or target....

My DH is out of town, of course! He called a neighbor (I don't have his number) and he said he would be here within the hour...almost 2 hours ago!

They tried everything and ended up with the glue strips and they worked well.

revirdsuba99... Genuine question... if glue traps work really well... you dont have to worry about kids or pets getting into poison... you dont have to worry about anyone snapping fingers or toes.... Why would they be your last choice?? Just the fact that the mouse doesnt die right away???

Well frankly if that mouse decided to invade MY space, all bets are OFF. I'd probably be filling that tub until he drowned. Sorry, Not Sorry. It's a freaking rodent and they multiply by the thousands very rapidly. No reason to spare it and 'set it free'.

He's gone! I was able to slide an old Silhouette mat under the bowl, and the neighbor scooped him up for me! Now, off to sterilize the tub.

Please do not place glue traps outside. Recently an owl got stuck in some when it saw a mouse trapped on one. It has severe damage to its skin and feathers. It will most likely never be out in the wild again.
We have had to use them inside as no other traps worked.

Ick. Back many many years ago, my mom and I had a mouse in our 2nd floor apartment. Maintenance figured out how it had got in and blocked it off. Problem was the mouse was in the apartment when they did it. We tried the poison pellets and those didnt work, we tried a few regular traps with peanut butter on the snap part- the figured out how to eat the peanut butter without setting off the traps. So, finally we bought 24 traps and covered the entrances to where the little bastard was and got him- after 3 days of him getting past them.

We had a large mouse or small rat using our dryer exhaust vent (it’s at ground level) as a highway… it got caught in the trap I set out outside but it didn’t die. I used tongs to pick it up trap and all and drown it in a bucket.). Shudder. I still have nightmares. Yes, I threw out the tongs and bucket. If one was inside my house I think I’d burn the house down…

Our furnace quit working, and the repair guy found a mouse had died in one of the drain pipes. As he showed me, he was absolutely freaked out about it, so I reached in and removed it.
He begged me not to tell his boss!

My DH is out of town, of course! Of course! Just like the time a bird flew down the chimney and was flying around the basement. My brother and his raptor gloves to the rescue! It took us an hour to catch the little sparrow. Get you some nitrile gloves from walmart or target.... Or just double up a couple Walmart plastic bags and stick your hand in it, pick up the trap and pull the bag back up and throw in the trash.

Add a dab of peanut butter to bait. Glue strips would be my last choice. They are affective, they ARE cruel.. I put glue traps in my basement and only ever caught crickets and one little snake ... which bothered me WAY more than having a mouse in the house. I have become somewhat desensitized to mice. I always get them in my house, usually in the fall as the season starts to cool off. Although I had one (never just one - I caught 2) a few weeks ago. One time I saw one dart into my pantry. I opened the door and there it was so I stepped on it. Not crunch down hard, I just 'detained' it. But then what to do! I could not bring myself to crunch it, so I hollered at DH and he put gloves on and grabbed it. LOL - it was like Laurel & Hardy with that damn mouse. I am sure we took years off it's life! I get one in the cab of my grain truck from time to time. If you see a crazy woman driving down the road in a big truck with the door open - she is just trying to scoot that mouse on out the door!

I love mice and had them as pets when I was a kid. That said, I understand that you can't let them destroy your home.
My cats are the only mouse protection I need. Even bugs aren't safe, let alone mice.
When I was selling my home in Iowa, we moved the cats ahead to PA and I'm telling you it took literally THREE DAYS for the mice to come in from the empty cornfields across the street and set up house. DD and I started seeing and hearing them everywhere. Prior to that we had had only two mice in seven years, that my cats proudly caught and gifted to me.
I don't do poison or glue traps but I did have to use the regular traps. I felt awful about it but, no choice. Cats are cruel to the mice but I figure that's the mouse's fault because they can smell the cats and should know better.
Anyway use thin cardboard like from a cereal box, put it under the bowl, and put it outside. It's more scared than you are. And it has adorable little black eyes and soft fur and little tiny hands it used to clean itself. Then go get a cat! Even better, get two!
