Good morning.
Let's start our day by wishing our very sweet Linda a very Happy Birthday followed by a year filled w/joyous moments and lots of fun.
It's a low-key day. I'm starting a couple supplements that my doctor thinks will help me improve my energy. So, I'm hopeful that I'll wake up sooner rather than later. Today I have physical therapy and that's it.
I think I'm going to cook something in the instant pot or possibly toaster oven enchiladas. PT is at 4:30 and will go through cooking time. So, I have to prep in advance. I'll see what dh wants and go from there.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
How is everyone doing?
May today be a happy, calm day for everyone.

DS arrives in the morning for a 4-day weekend so I'll be deciding on meals and shopping. I'll tidy up the house and get his room ready as I tend to put things on his bed that are waiting to be put on Buy Nothing. Dinner is what I decide when I'm shopping. Oh, the Lunch Bunch yesterday was nice. I had an omelet and brought home a huge blueberry muffin for DH that he had with his breakfast.

Hi scrapmaven! PT and a down day sounds delightful. I had a meeting at 8am. Seriously 8am meetings should be illegal! Haha...but it was a good meeting anyway. This was a follow up meeting and my boss and my coworker were there. However, neither of them prepared anything for this meeting and had no idea I was prepping for the meeting. I showed up with a complete picture of all the financials from the past 5-6 years with a proposal for how to address the issue at hand. I think honestly, my boss was shocked. I don't even know what they expected would happen. What if I didn't do that work? What if I had been out sick today? I don't know. I had to go to the pharmacy today and I was riding the high of the meeting so I dropped in at Barnes and Noble. Picked up two new books and two magazines. I have one more meeting in half hour and then I'll just be open to free work this afternoon. Which is good. I can listen to some music and work at my own pace on detail stuff. I will also pack my bag to head to Ludington tomorrow afternoon. I am out of work at noon tomorrow. Hopefully Jeremy gets home at a reasonable time and we can make it past Grand Rapids before the rush hour traffic. Then it's free and easy all weekend. Tonight I'm making black eyed peas with wilted greens and sweet potatoes. Jeremy enjoyed this meal last time I made it.

Good morning!
We had a scary night last night. My dad has been wearing a heart monitor and his dr called and said we needed to go to the ER right away so off we went. When we got to the ER, they were waiting for us and took us right back into a trauma room. Lots of activity going on and they did an EKG and his heart had snapped back into rhythm. They ended up keeping him overnight and will probably put in a pacemaker today. It's similar to the BP issue he had a few weeks ago so this has been going on for awhile. It's scary because he's 92 and going under anesthesia gets trickier as one gets older.
I have no clue what dinner will be tonight!
Hope you all have a great day!

I’ve had an easy day today. My cleaner rescheduled to tomorrow, so I didn’t have to hide out in my craft space! DS and the girls called to see how I was going and I heard all about their long weekend visiting younger DS. The most exciting thing was that the Science Museum in Canberra had special activities and the police forensic team were giving demonstrations and (hear this in excited 5YO voice!) they had police dogs there! I also spoke with younger DS as one of my brothers and his wife had dropped in to see him on their way home from vacation and had asked how I was. This afternoon I had a massage at a place right near my nail place. I have walked past them every time I get my nails done and this week I finally went in and booked. It was lovely and my skin feels so good from the scented oils. Dinner tonight is steak kebabs, marinated in BBQ sauce with a couple of salads from the deli counter at the butcher shop. Easy peasy! Happy Birthday lindaTearisci - I hope your dad is on the mend soon.

Tearisci, what a long and scary night. The pacemaker will do its job and hopefully, you'll be able to avoid nights like last night. I hope that you'll be able to rest well tonight and even take a nap if you need it. ((((HUGS)))). sueg, what a great way to pamper yourself. Might I suggest a hot stone massage next time? It's so relaxing. Beyond. Sophia is adorable. You have so much love from your family and that's because you are a very special mom and Oma.

Happy Birthday Linda ! jeremysgirl have fun on your trip to Ludington ! Keeping your dad in my prayers Tearisci . I had a surprise visit from my niece today and brought her baby with her. He is adorable and felt great to have a baby around for awhile. I'll be relaxing the rest of the day and might make time to work on my new puzzle. For dinner we are having pork chops, rice and beans.

Happy birthday linda! We have grandboy #1 spending the day with us. He and DH went into the city to get some tires balanced and a couple of other errands. Of course they had to hit Dairy Queen for lunch. I stayed home but went uptown to get a couple groceries and to the vets to pick up Walkers monthly heart worm prevention pill. I can’t believe it’s Labour Day weekend coming up which means the boys are back to school on Tuesday. Even harder to believe is grandboy #3 is heading to Jr Kindergarten! Supper will be spaghetti.

Linda! Hope the PM does the trick for your dad, Tearisci, and that he is home healing quickly. Yesterday I made a long list of the projects I want to tackle and can't seem to get started. Then I had a chat with DH, who called me out on trying to do too much. I have accepted that I don't have the energy/stamina to keep doing what I've been doing. Last week really wiped me out. So I'm baby stepping the projects. Today I'm just going to look at paint colors for the outside (really want to go navy), my office (currently light yellow, may go pale aqua) and the bonus room (no clue, but I'm over the 3 horizontal stripes on all walls). I have a couple returns and might look at sandals. My favorites broke a strap last week. Dinner is an easy fend-for-yourself night although I will make the bagged Sweet Kale salad that needs to be used.

linda Happiest of Birthdays! Tearisci I understand completely the worry we have for our parents. Prayers that the procedure does the trick and lowers everybody’s stress. I have a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread going stale and some fresh eggs from DD’s chickens so I think I’ll make bread pudding. So dinner will be a light salad followed by decadent dessert covered in very healthy (not) rum sauce.

scrapmaven - I have had hot stone massages before and loved them. I am not sure if the place I went to does them. They do Thai style massage, including oil and herbal hot packs, which I think I’ll try next time. We have just booked vacation for October, including 5 days at a spa hotel, so I will see if they do hot stones,

Happy Thursday! The air fryer chicken thighs I made earlier this week were good so I have some left overs for tonight with rice and veggies. I probably will made some ground turkey for dh who likes to mix it with rice and an one of his favorite sauces. Happy birthday linda! I hope you are having your favorite meal and dessert today.

Tearisci good thing your dad's doctor was on top of it. Still coughing and testing positive today (day 11 since testing positive, day 13 from symptoms). Though the line is getting fainter. I should test negative in time for jury duty next week. Have I mentioned I get a notice every year for the last 23 years? I really don't understand how some of my friends have only been called one time. Today we took out thai food. My appetite is improving but still not what it was.

@tearsi I’m glad to hear your dad is doing well and that the doctor took quick action!!! I hope you all can get some rest today. I haven’t posted much. I didn’t think that telling my dinner consisted of a handful of cashews and a piece of cantaloupe was riveting content! Today I got a spinal injection of steroids. That was something! Hopefully it will provide some relief. I’ve been really going through it. Surgery is set for the 17th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY linda . I hope you have the best day and the people you love are celebrating you!!! @jeremys girl I hope you have the best weekend and lots of good weather.

Currently at the hairdresser with color settling into my hair. Dinner might be tomato soup. I have cheese curds which I like to drop in, and they get all soft and squishy but don’t completely melt. YUM!! Happy birthday, Linda! Tearisci, glad to hear your dad came through surgery with flying colors. Marina, hope you are feeling 100% very soon.

Well, it turned out dinner was actually chicken and rice with an Asian-inspired sauce, and roasted carrots. I forgot my son was planning to cook. Maybe tomorrow will be the tomato soup and cheese curds. Hope the injection helps, The Birdhouse Lady. Constant pain is just impossible to live with.

Happy birthday Linda ! jeremysgirl , I should be saying that nothing surprises me anymore with those twits at your work, but every time you post something, I am once again shocked. Honestly, you should be the one in charge, not your boss. The incompetence is astounding. What skills does he actually bring to the company? Tearisci I'm glad your dad's procedure went well. It must have been scary for all of you. cadoodlebug DSO and I both LOL'd, like literally out loud, at your meme! The Birdhouse Lady I hope the steroid injection gives you good relief until the 17th. Our friends, DSO and I went to a highly recommended restaurant for dinner. We are on the wrong side of the island for sunsets, but we do get the sunrises. Nevertheless, this particular restaurant offers pretty good views of whatever sunset filters through on the east coast. We booked it weeks ago, and my friend asked for the best table on the balcony, which they promised us. The sunset was a bit of a bust, as there was a bit much cloud, but the food was great. It was a curious mix of half Thai and half Italian. Needless to say, our friends who just spend three weeks in Italy wanted nothing to do with the Italian dishes! We ordered multiple dishes to share. And cocktails / mocktails of course!
