Our power went out twice in the last 24 hours. It wasn’t so bad last night but this afternoon at 2 pm during the highest heat of the day was brutal. I’m so over this. The sunset was bright red tonight, felt appropriate for how it has felt the last few days. Can’t wait for Wednesday!

I am over it too. Tuesday will be about 10 degrees cooler, Wednesday will be about 20 degrees cooler!! Can’t wait! It is about 95 right now at 5PM. We tried something new today. We went out for lunch, and rather than park our hot car in the garage, we left it outside. We are just seeing if it keeps the heat down in the house, especially the bedrooms right above the garage. The garage itself feels a lot cooler. I've been cracking the garages door and the side yard door to the garage to allow airflow to help take out the extra heat from the hot motor. Our bedroom is above the garage and this seems to help.

Another hot day and now we have this north of me. The smoke is here which makes it hot with smoke. But at least I’m just dealing with this and not the fire. I hate this time of year.. Cal Fire.. ”The #BoylesFire burning in Clearlake is 76 acres and 10% contained. There are approximately 30 structures involved with fire and around 4,000 residents displaced in the evacuation zones (CLE-E148, CLE-E157). CAL FIRE remains an assisting agency to the Lake County FPD.” x.com/kcbsamfmtraffic/status/1832955068418756805?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nwThat must be some fire. My Rep in the House… Rep. Mike Thompson.. ”FEMA has approved the State’s request for a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) to help cover costs to mitigate, manage, and control firefighting efforts for #BoylesFire. I will continue to work to provide all available federal resources to respond to #BoylesFire.”

I have never been so excited for a 92º degree day! It was so nice to open up the house this morning and feel some 74º cool air coming in the windows. Looks like my area of OC should get to 80º by 8pm so the overnight temps will be bearable. Yesterday the fire smell was bad but today it seems to have dissipated. Tomorrow is supposed be he a high of 79º so I can leave all the doors and windows open all day! So excited!

I can’t wait to open up but we are a bit smokey and don’t want that in the house. Tomorrow is supposed to be down into the 80’s. I’m hoping to be able to open up soon. The AC has been on less today so that’s a good thing.
