Happy October 2nd, fellow OD-ers! š·ļø2ļøā£š I'm having an uneventful WFH Wednesday but for the sake of having something to document, I carved out enough time this morning to bake a brioche (sans food mixer šŖ). Gotta love these scrappy projects that make you want to do or see something just so you can add it to the album. š¤Ŗ

Day 2 I did a page about the fall season and watching the leaves change and fall. It's all still so green where I live. š Hoping for some orange and red foliage before the end of the month so I can document it in my mini. š¤šš Will you be sharing your pages or linking directly to your social media posts about them in here, ecvnj58 ? I always love your creations. ā„ļø

Dd and I picked out the dogs costumes. Hope is going to be a bee and Toby is going to be a pumpkin. We haven't done much as it is still very hot here. High today will be 102Ā°. I am so over this heat. We are hoping to go to the farm and their pumpkin patch next weekend. Only supposed to be 85Ā°. š¤š» Oh and to share my latest Peanuts item. The candy corn puffer jacket Snoopy from CVS. š¤ Paid retail at CVS too.

Iām wondering how the tn will finish. Itās already super thick. I didnāt put a staple on it yet so hopefully I can in the end just tie a ribbon around it. And thank you for taking a look. October daily has really inspired me for the first time in a long while. I almost didnāt do it this year but it seems like doing it was exactly what I needed.

Such a pretty TN LO, ecvnj58! š§” If it ever gets too thicc, you can always cut the pages out and bind them with rings instead but that does take the initial TN easiness purpose away. And I love a pretty ribbon to open a book... It's very green here too! I look for the first leaves to change and zoom in tight Luckily I have a couple of specific trees nearby that turn earlier than all their brethren for some unknown reason. Not that I'm making an album or even sharing on IG much, but you know my brain still looks to document these things as if I am. Hey now, hey now, sharing on IG is caring... I need more of your weird antiques for the spooky season! ā¢ļøšø I think the leaves will turn soon here. We're dealing with so many temperature variations from one day to another at the moment that I just don't see them lasting until November. Going to have to go to the local park to photograph foliage goodness when that happens... #concretejungle š¢š

Happy October 7, everyone! š7ļøā£š
We're having a very 50 Shades of Grey Skies situation over here lately. I took some photos for my mini during yesterday's family walk with the dogs (and our tiny 2kg/4lbs stubborn queen in her dog stroller - Mademoiselle Twiggy is not a fan of actually walking outside yet but loves to be pushed around š¤Ŗ) and it's that gloomy, grey horizon showing, ugh (more of a sunny autumn kind of girl). Same when I woke up today. š My seasonal affective disorder is going to be out of control if this weather persists all the way through the season, just saying.

Going to have to go to the local park to photograph foliage goodness when that happens... #concretejungle š¢š Since I live in evergreen Christmas tree country I find most of my fall color in store parking lots! We do have big leaf maples growing amongst the firs and pines but the really spectacular deciduous trees are almost always found in landscaped areas. It doesnāt really feel very October-ish around here yet, but maybe next week when the rain sets in for real. I havenāt even had a pumpkin spice latte or cold brew yet, but weāve enjoyed some pumpkin spice filled wafer cookies. As for the antiques, Iāve been on a massive quest to rid the house of nasty little German Hummel figurines. Do you know them? We started the year with 128 to sell š³ I was making slow progress until I joined an adhd-friendly goal setting class a couple of months ago. Iām on track to have them all gone by Halloween!! Itās been quite the mission. The ones with their mouths open are creepy but not really in a Halloween way. Ugh, I hate them so much.

I just had to google Hummel figurines and... uh.. I have no words. This is my face: I hope all your Octobers are going well? I have had such an atrocious week at work ( this is my sweary selfie on one of my crappy evenings that's def making its way into my album), but things are picking up - took my eldest to see a comedy band last night at the London Palladium and tomorrow it's the local farms apple day and I'm meeting my best friend for lunch. Did any of you see the aurora on Thursday? I missed them in May and have been regretting it ever since and then there they were: pink and green above the rooftops in my surburban corner of town. Amazing, just amazing. An actual bucket list item ticked off, the literal definition of awesome.

It's past peak for leaf color where I live, but I prefer the later colors anyway: more reds!
I should have taken a picture of the pumpkin wedges I made with dinner tonight. They were delicious! All the pumpkins I grew might go towards this recipe so I'll have a chance for pictures again.
We were able to catch the aurora in May but it's been too cloudy or they just didn't show far enough south for us to see them this month. We have hills to the north so we don't have the best view for it.

Amazing, just amazing. An actual bucket list item ticked off, the literal definition of awesome. Yup, thatās how I reacted the first time I saw them. Horrid little things. Now imagine finding a $120 price sticker from 1979 on the underside, or a receipt for a $900 splurge in 1999 (for 6 of them) š¤Æ The collection was supposedly valued at $32,000 in 1999 and now itās more like $1,000. True horror that they wasted so much money and energy on them. Love the sweary selfie. I missed the aurora again. But I went leaf peeping at the park across the street tonight and took some colorful pictures. The sun was shining and thereās a pin oak thatās every shade from fresh green to deep red.

If Easter and Halloween are opposite holidays, why is this Easter Bunny the stuff of horror films and nightmares? October share by jo.blackford, on Flickr Weāve been going through my husbandās family photos. The 70s and early 80s were just the best. This is to make up for my lack of scary antiques and haunted dollsā¦ although we also found some photos of his sister lying down next to a life sized walking (hopefully not talking) doll.

I wrote this on the collections thread, but I'm back!!!! I am back from Boston/Salem and it was NON STOP. We went with relatives from my husband family and WOW! That woman was non stop. We did a true crime tour, ghost tour, Fenway Park tour, ate amazing Italian and seafood. Went to Plymouth, Lizzie Borden's house, Rebecca Nurse's homestead, a couple of museums, and Louisa May Alcott's house. All of that was done in three days. My poor daughter struggled at the end to keep up and I was about the same! We got home early Sunday and I slept A LOT!
ETA: Forgot about high tea in Salem.

My niece and nephew were terrified of the Easter Bunny named Chuck (I have no idea why my family named him that). They put notes on their doors to please leave their Easter baskets OUTSIDE of the bedroom door.

All it takes is watching a flip through of a beautiful album to make me think I want to make one too. I donāt really, when it comes to actually doing the work, but how lovely is this? Does anyone follow any other dash notebook makers with lovely content?

I've been making scrappy Halloween things, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them. OMG. You won the internet today. These are amazing. Their little smiles while holding deadly weapons is the best thing I've seen. THIS and only this is making me want to buy a gingerbread stamp.

Guess what? Burger King has Wednesday whoppers. Guess who had one? Me! Iāve never had a whopper in my life. But offer one with a purple bun and black seeds and Iām in. They have an entire Adamās Family menu including crowns. Made for adorable photos.
