Hi everyone! Happy happy birthday scrapmaven! I have to tell you all about my literal "bloodbath" last night ... I had a tiny scab on the top of my left arm and I accidently scratched it off ... it is tiny! That thing bled like there was no tomorrow ... soaked the arm of the shirt I was wearing, three tissues and four paper towels ... I went into the bathroom and it was dripping down my arm onto the floor! . I was holding paper towel on it while trying to get Band-Aids open ... that was fun. I managed to use SIX Band-Aids stuck down on top of each other to get it to stop bleeding ... ugh! Then I had to clean up the freaking crime scene including my arm, torso and feet where the blood had dripped ... I have no idea why it wouldn't clot. Anyway, that was my excitement for the evening! I have no plans today other than to do a bit of laundry ... the new season of Selling Sunset is out on Netflix so I will probably start watching that too. This is what I posted on Facebook today ... the wasp population here in Calgary is insane right now ... good thing I'm an "indoor kind of girl"! I think dinner tonight will be cheese tortellini in a fresh tomato sauce ... yum! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

I have no plans today other than to do a bit of laundry ... the new season of Selling Sunset is out on Netflix so I will probably start watching that too. I started watching it yesterday while it was slow at work so I'll finish it up today! I also need to finish Emily in Paris and pick up a grocery order. I'm doing 15 minute challenges this morning so I can veg this afternoon. I'm making cheeseburger soup for dinner. I've not made this recipe before so I'm looking forward to it. Hope you all have a great day!

Yikes leannec, glad you finally stopped the bleeding! DH and I just got back from a long walk. It's still way too hot! I plan to sort photos that I've had developed with college football on in the background. We don't play until this evening and don't get the channel it's on. Dinner will be Tomatillo Pork ~ yummy!

It is so hot here I changed lunch reservations to an inside table instead of the patio. I'm meeting a few crafty friends for lunch and haven't seen most of them since my diagnosis. We used to have a 4 day annual retreat but haven't restarted since the 2020 Great Shut Down. Life changes make it harder & harder for us all to get together so I'm pretty excited.
I'm having shrimp tacos or ceviche. DH & DS are going to the Greek Festival so if I'm hungry later I'll get them to bring me home a gyro.
Running out the door to yoga . . .

YIKES, leannec! That is scary. If anything like that happens again, please talk to your doctor. Maybe just talk to him/her, anyway. cadoodlebug, thanks for mentioning tomatillo pork. I’m planning to pick up a pork roast at Raley’s while they’re on sale and now I know what I’m going to do with it. Dinner will be at our favorite Mexican restaurant that was formerly owned by my friend. Mom is coming out to visit for the afternoon and she always wants to eat there.

It is hot here, though not as bad as a few weeks ago. Tomorrow is also meant to be as hot as today, then in the evening we'll get a storm and then next week will be much cooler. Today was grocery shopping before lunch, then this afternoon I went to help with book sorting for the 2nd hand book sale at the end of October. We got so much done - sorted all the new books into categories, then priced and packed three or four non-fiction categories, 3 or 4 boxes of each. I'm home now and DH is just getting dinner ready. We are having lamb cutlets with grilled sweet potatoes and a beets, goats cheese and walnut salad.
Tonight is international football - Germany takes on Hungary at 8:45, but right now it's England v Ireland - so that will be our TV viewing.

Happy Birthday scrapmaven. May my favourite Virgo have a much better day today and I hope your technology difficulties get solved right away. Sending love regardless. Today I need to get down to my craft living room and get cutting squares. I have the fabric and need to cut. I talked to my quilting teacher and she invited me to come for a lesson next week meanwhile she has been driven out of her house with a bathroom reno. Yeah somehow I am not going to come while you have work being done. Bang bang bang. I am going next Saturday. Yay!!! I don’t need to grocery shop today because we have vegetables and food in the freezer. I will find something I am sure.

Dh and ods took me out to breakfast where I was able to try 1/2 of a pancake. I get it w/o butter or flavor, but it makes me feel normal. I opened The Hogwarts Castle Lego from Yds. I'm so excited to start building. Dh and ods will do birthday stuff next weekend. W/our trip and ds's new classroom there just wasn't time to get it together and I'm fine w/that. Better ds should get a good head start and dh and I had so much fun. Today I'm busy backing up data, changing passwords and doing a factory reset on my phone. I'm not going to stew. I have lots of great stuff in my life and I'll focus on that. (However, I do want the jackass who stole my data to develop permanent wedgie disease.) I'm annoyed, but this is a product of this day and age and I can't change it or stop it. Luckily, I'm really careful w/my info. I deleted all of the good apps. So, if the creep is planning to get rich, good luck w/that. leannec , that sounds a bit scary. Maybe ping your doctor on Monday if you are concerned? Yikes.
ETA: Dh will have the other half of his omelette for dinner.

Happiest of birthdays, scrapmaven! 🎉💕 DH and I spent the morning at Costco, Michaels, and Aldi. We took longer at Michaels than anywhere because he was debating what paper he wants to use for a Cricut project we're going to try. Wish us luck! Dinner tonight will be blue cheese onion burgers. I also got my labs back this morning! All of the immunoglobulin levels were normal, but the pneumococcal antibodies were a different story: every single last one except 1 (I think 23 were tested) came back negative. I'm not doctor, but a quick Google search said that low levels can cause recurring respiratory and sinus issues. I think I finally have an answer, and now just need to figure out what's next. I emailed my doctor and will wait for her expertise, but I think I am on the right path!

Thank you so much cadoodlebug and rymeswithpurple. So good to hear that you got your results and you might finally have answers, so that you can fix this. Woohoo!?!?!? Not that you want anything to be wrong, but if it's something they can fix and it's not serious then so be it.

karenlou: I missed your post about Gracie. I’m so sorry! scrapmaven: Happiest of birthdays to you! I’m not sure where some of you live who are having a heat wave but it’s freezing here today. Like seriously cold! I went outside wearing a sweater and a jacket and I was still cold. The good news is that Walker loves this weather - way less panting today. DH and his buddy have gone to the races for the day to watch another couple friends race the 1/4 mile. I was going to go to a big craft sale but it’s cold and drizzly so I stayed home. Probably saved some money staying home! Supper will be leftover roast beef, potatoes, carrots, turnip and coleslaw. It was delicious last night.

Happy, happy birthday scrapmaven my dear friend! Are you home from your trip already? This week was something else. I seem to have lost track of time. I'm so glad you had a little breakfast and I know how much you'll love putting together that castle. leannec that sounds like a nightmare. But I have a mole on my leg I've nucked a couple of times and it is crazy how much they bleed too. Probably nothing. rymeswithpurple I'm glad to know that they are finally figuring out what is going on. Hopefully they can treat it easily. Welp! We just left. We are in the silent phase of the car trip. Because we've spent all morning packing and preparing and sniping at each other. Don't even worry. This is how we roll out the door to a camping trip. He doesn't move until the last minute. And I'm prepping all the food. I was ready to walk out over 2 hours ago but he insisted on cowboy cookies. Then the last batch went into the oven and I said, I'm going to set the timer and run to the liquor store. Please take them out when the timer goes off. He overcooked them. He said they didn't look done enough to him when the timer went off. If I hadn't walked in, he would have totally burned them. So basically I got angry. He got angry. And now we are sitting in silence. However we've been in the car for 25 minutes now so I'm just about to break the silence and start the vacation properly. 😂 I made chili to cook in the Dutch oven tonight. I also made corn muffins to go with it.

Happy Saturday! Our first cool front of the year came through last night and the weather this morning was glorious! I sat outside for my coffee and talked to DH when he called. Another day of great weather tomorrow then the rain/possible storms come back for next week. Also spent some time pulling out projects that I have planned or am working on. I have a 3 day quilt retreat next weekend and need to decide what to take with me. DH is doing very well. He's up to 17 hours on the oxygen supplement during the day. They are starting to wean him from the vent at night. Once he is off the vent then he'll be eligible to move to rehab. He is also eating regular food now! Still on the feeding tube at night but we expect that to be removed by the end of next week. Still doing PT and OT and says he's feeling stronger daily. We are just impatient to move on to the next step of rehab. Thanks to everyone who asks about him. Not sure about dinner, but I may pick up a gyro on my way home. Our favorite place has a location close to the hospital so it's an easy stop. I'm in super slow gear today and need to get up and out of here to visit DH. HAPPY BIRTHDAY scrapmaven !!!

The good news is that Walker loves this weather - way less panting today. Here in Calgary our temperatures have been in the plus 30's for days! It's supposed to turn cold and rainy by Wednesday ... we have wacky weather so who knows if that will happen

Hope your day is AMAZING!!!!💝 I am just back from a Baby Shower for MY DH's nephews wife...it was lovely...however WAY to long, and I have a huge headache. It was tough for me as I knew only The nephew and his wife and His parents...I don't do well in crowds of people I don't know...and there were a ton of people there. Anyway my plan is to make a ratatouille soup for dinner I have a ton of tomatoes, and my neighbor gave me a zucchini, and I picked up an eggplant....This is a first for me so I am sort of winging it!!! Gypsygirl...I am so happy to hear your DH is doing so well!!!!

taylortroop, jeremysgirl, karenlou, **GypsyGirl** thank you so much for your birthday wishes. **GypsyGirl**, looks like I'm going to be in your neck of the woods in a few weeks. If you are too busy for a vist I completely understand, but if not let's yak. I'll give you dates once I get things booked. You can tell your dh that he has to be in rehab and close to coming home before I get there. Maybe that'll inspire him to get better. jeremysgirl, dh and I have "the parking lot fight". When we're on road trips if he isn't clear on the navigation he gets really cranky and nervous, then we bicker and the minute he parks and turns off the engine we're just fine. It's a phenomenon. We got home yesterday. Today I'm restoring my data. Isn't that special? (Said w/great sarcasm.) Have fun on your camping trip. Enjoy ever bit of nature and fun and great meals and of course, wonderful Jeremy. karenlou, I'm thinking of you, because it's hard to lose our beloved furry friends. ((((HUGS)))).

Ex and I went to the same lake in British Columbia every summer and we had our morning routine for leaving down to a science! I don't remember ever fighting about it because everyone knew their job ... we were always on the road by 8:30 am - Ex, me, Emma, Molly and Lucy the dog ... it was an eight hour drive! The only thing that would drive me and the dd's crazy was the number of times ex needed to stop to relieve himself ... dude has the smallest bladder! (They tell me that his new wife complains about it too! )

I'm making cheeseburger soup for dinner. I've not made this recipe before so I'm looking forward to it.
Hope you all have a great day! My ex fiancé used to make hamburger soup. It was his mother’s recipe and one of three things that he knew how to make. It was actually delicious. If you like how yours turns out, can you provide the recipe? I am always on the lookout for a good soup recipe. My Instacart Costco order from the other day was missing the rotisserie chicken. So much for my easy dinner that night. I love having my Costco shopping done for me and delivered to my door, but I hate when they don’t deliver all of my order. I just notify Instacart and they reimburse me immediately, but it is annoying to go without something I was counting on. The Walmart close by has rotisserie chickens, but they are not good. They charge $2 more for them, they are smaller, and I don’t like how they season them. I ended up just cooking one of the packages of ground turkey instead and made a quick burger out of some. I had two kinds of bagged salad in the Costco order so that is going to be my dinner tonight. Each of the salads are separated into two bags each, which I appreciate. It seems to stay fresh longer when you haven’t opened one yet. I will probably try adding some of the ground turkey to the salad for a protein boost. I am staying inside today since the heat is back. Well other than checking to see if the last of the blackberries is ripe. I have been picking a huge batch every week and they are just about finished now. I eat some fresh and then freeze the rest until I have gathered all of them. I will make up some jam or maybe a batch of blackberry chipotle sauce. It is delicious with chicken. The heat isn’t too bad today, it is only supposed to hit 87 today but that is too hot for me to work in the yard. It is supposed to drop down considerably next Tuesday, so I will continue my yard work and bark distribution next week. I always feel so happy when I have been able to spend a day working outside in the yard.

Happy Birthday scrapmaven ! jeremysgirl would you believe that I had never tasted a cowboy cookie ! My son asked me to pick some up for him from HEB and I tasted them and they are delicious. Now I have to look for a recipe to make them myself. I am so glad your husband is doing better **GypsyGirl** . Didn't have a relaxing day yesterday as I thought I was going to have. We had to take mom to the emergency room because she was having chest pains. She was there for about 5 hours then got sent home when her heat stopped beating so fast and was normal. Now we have to make her an appt. with a cardiologist in a week. Today she stayed here with me until my sister came for her this afternoon. My vacation is over and will be back to work tomorrow. For dinner hubby decided to go pick up McDonalds.

These road trip/vacation stories are cracking me up! My one complaint with DH is when I say that I'm going to need a bathroom break soon and he'll stay in the fast lane on the freeway and pass up a rest area. WTH?? And completely missed the sign that says REST AREA 1 MILE!

OMG, this looks like the cookie recipe that a coworker’s wife used to make for his lunches every single day! She gave me the recipe, but I am not sure if I still have it. I just called them Mrs. Sneed’s Cookies since she gave me the recipe. I never heard of cowboy cookies before, but this sure looks awfully similar to what she used to make. I’ll have to give this a try. Thanks!

scrapmaven, jeremysgirl Thank you both! Perhaps "negative" wasn't the word I was looking for, but very low. As mentioned, 22/23 were between 0.1 and 0.9, where it should be at least 1.3 ug/mL. One of the immunoglobulin levels was in the range of normal at 49, but the scale goes from 6-495, so that also seems low to me, but I'm no expert. Google says something like could be remedied perhaps with a vaccine or antibiotics. We'll see.
