Good morning.
I'm off to have some labs. This afternoon I have PT and my voice lesson.
Dinner might be Tarragon chicken. We'll see how my energy level holds.
What's on your menu?
What do you have planned this week? I have a busy week w/appointments. Other than that I have a puzzle to finish and of course, a big lego to start.
May everyone have a happy, easy and for those in need or those who have loved ones in need, may it be a week of healing.

Good afternoon, scrapmaven - you are up and about early today! It’s normally almost dinner time here when the thread starts, and today I’ve barely finished lunch. Our weather has changed overnight - from sunny and quite warm yesterday to grey, cold and rainy today. I have done everything on my to do list for today, so I’m about to make coffee and start knitting. I received a reply first thing from my surgeon about my PET scan - I must have called them just at the wrong time, because he says I have an appointment scheduled mid-October! I have also had a message from our walking tour guide in Venice. We have booked a private tour and she wanted some idea of what we would like to see and do. Have a great week every one.

scrapmaven you are an early bird today. Did you sleep alright? Maybe a nap in your future? sueg I'm glad you got your scan scheduled. And I think it's so nice you get some input on your walking tour. When is that scheduled for and how will the weather be? I just got showered. I was up at 6 this morning and I put on the little hanging lights while I sat outside in the dark and drank coffee for a couple of hours. Then I headed to the shower. I'm back outside now and I'm just taking some time to read a bit more before Jeremy gets up and gets breakfast going. Dinner tonight will be dependent on what time everyone else arrives. I have all the stuff that Jeremy and I could make pie iron calzones. If we have a couple more people, we can do mini pizzas on the Blackstone instead to make more. If we have the full group, we can either go out for dinner at the inn or we can have something that they are providing. They were set to bring two dinners. (They can't cook so I don't expect it's going to be anything good but they insisted I not do all the food.) Jeremy and I are going out to the grocery store today for a few things. Other than that, we will just sit around camp I think.

Good Monday morning!
I slept really horribly last night and would love to take the day off and just veg but I've got stuff on my plate to do. This week is socials though and I really like writing them so at least it's a good week at work.
I'm going to take some hamburger out of the freezer so we'll see what I feel like around dinner time. Maybe spaghetti or if I feel really ambitious, I'll make the cheeseburger soup I was going to make last week.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning !
Another quiet day for me. We did wake up to an e-mail saying that our water would be shut off at 9am until ??. There is a leak around the area that needs to be fixed. Last time we had a leak around here it was off almost all day. Keeping fingers crossed that won't be the case today.
No idea what's for dinner yet. We might go out for dinner.

Happy Monday! Another cool morning before the weather changes back to hot and humid. We currently have eyes on the Gulf for a tropical storm on Wednesday. It does seem to be shifting to the east so we may be spared the heavy stuff and just get some rain. Fingers crossed. Nothing against Louisiana, but we've already had a derecho and a hurricane this summer. Enough!
This morning I need to make an HEB run for some groceries and to pickup an Rx. Also need to stop and get some documents faxed to the insurance company related to DH's long term disability application. This afternoon will be more needlepoint while visiting DH. Tonight I need to get started making the gift for my retreat swap partner. Finally decided yesterday I'll do a zip pouch and also pulled the main fabric. I've pulled several projects to take and need to decide what will make the final cut.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight. Hoping for divine inspiration while at HEB. Hope everyone has a great day and a good week ahead.

Good morning all.
I'm tired today after not sleeping well. There was another school shooting threat on social media yesterday against the middle and high here as well as in a neighbouring county. They arrested a 13 y/o last night and have placed additional deputies in the schools here today. I'm so damn tired of guns being more important than kids.
We have a school open house tonight so dinner will be late and easy - probably tomato soup

jeremysgirl - the tour is the morning after we arrive in Venice, October 4th. Hopefully the weather will be nice, but this summer has been so crazy. We get some input because it’s a private tour, just DH and me with the guide. They asked what our interests are and I also let her know what else we have planned, so we don’t see (and pay for) the same things over and over.

Today is the last day of over 100° weather with a bit of a cooling trend tomorrow. I am so ready. I'll go to AquaFit this morning and have Crazy Rummy this afternoon. Tonight the 9ers play the Jets. Dinner will be ribs. My apologies to any Cowboy fans but I thought this was funny.

Ugh Linda this is so terrible. Is your child upset about this? less upset over this specific threat and more upset that her entire time in school has been affected by threats and lockdowns and evacuations and a general lack of feeling safe. She was in Kindergarten when Sandy Hook happened so she really doesn't remember school without the fear of a shooting.

Happy Monday dinner friends.
I've checked the board several times/days lately, started to like and post only to be sidetracked by varying interuptions. I know there were several members I was going to respond or comment to but if I go back and look the posts up now, the same thing will happen again. :-) So here is a blanket thoughts, hugs and sympathetic thoughts for everyone!
It was a busy weekend, GS's first fall baseball game of the season, they lost but it's a new league for him, so they are still learning the new rules and kid pitch. DH was in town and worked on his plane all weekend and I had crafternoon with friends yesterday. Both of my sons were on a fishing trip this weekend, so my DIL and GS came over for dinner last evening, it was nice to have them.
This week is a busy week here, I'm going to a somewhat local quilt retreat from Wednesday to Sunday, I didn't take off work but did limit the conference calls I've scheduled. I'm undecided if I'll go back and forth or stay and just work from there. the housecleaner comes tomorrow, once she finishes, I'll have DH carry stuff down and pack my clothes. I'm looking forward to it, but I also prefer my own shower, I'm just not big on shared bedroom and bathrooms. Oh poor me. hehe!
Dinner tonite will be pork chops and green beans with the last of a cesear salad.
Wishing everyone a great day and week ahead.

Add me to the list of people who couldn't sleep well. That's why I posted the thread at o'dark thirty. I postponed my labs and posted the thread, so that I could try and sleep some more. jeremysgirl , your morning sounds ideal. I hope you can continue to wake up and read w/coffee this week. It's such a nice way to start your day. cadoodlebug , have a really fun day. **GypsyGirl** , I'm coming out to your neck of the woods at the beginning of October. I'll let you know my dates in a day or two. I don't expect you to have time for a yak, but if you do that would be nice. I want to keep doing my 6 month tune-ups, because they really help. Tearisci and Linda, may tonight bring you both much better sleep. Linda , school should not be traumatic for any child, staff member or parent. ((((HUGS)))) leannec , I wish there was a way for your insomnia to resolve. Take care of yourself today.

Been busy this morning, putting address labels on envelopes for the retired teachers group that I belong to. Next step is to put membership cards in each envelope. I’ll do that while I sit and watch young and the restless. Nasty storms apparently had here this afternoon. Dinner is going to be steak and I think, grilled mushrooms and cauliflower. I need to finish picking up before my carpet get shampooed on Friday.

And those of us with young kids/young adults no all too well the fear of school shootings.

Linda I'm so sorry. It's incomprehensible to me that our country doesn't do something more to stop this. Today I walked the pupper and the drop in temperature is so nice. I have PT today for the first time since Covid and jury duty. I'm still coughing so may go to the doctor tomorrow. Tonight we may have a rotisserie chicken, roasted potatoes and veggies.

Hi friends!
I got my CT scan results back this afternoon, so I am slowly piecing together answers to go along with my lab work results. There is mucosal disease in the maxillary sinuses, the ethmoid air cells and in the sphenoid sinus, in addition to a dextroconvex nasal septum deviation. There's definitely some blockage on both sides of my sinuses, so that, coupled with my abysmal pneumococcal antibody levels definitely (at least to me) explains why I've had so many infections this year.
I think that the antibody levels can be increased with a vaccine, and I'm waiting to hear back from both my ENT and allergist what their impressions of the CT scan are.
Whew.
Dinner this week is vegetable beef stew.

Happy Monday!
I survived my Relay For Life event on Saturday. It was a beautiful day weather wise and a wonderful event. I had hoped to just stay home and relax yesterday. I got to stay home but my brother and his family came up for a visit and DS came over with the boys. It was nice but I am still exhausted from Saturday.
Getting lots done in the office today. I am excited about a potential new employee I am interviewing this afternoon. Fingers crossed.
Not sure what is for dinner. I really need to go to the grocery store but I don't want to.

I, too, had a horrible sleep last night. I was still awake at 3:30 am laying in bed reading and not the least bit tired. I finally shut out the light close to 4:00 and was up at 7:30.
I had to drive my mom to the bank this morning. She was sure that someone had hacked her bank card. After getting a print out of her transactions, we discovered that it was her and she spent way too much money last month. She doesn’t check her balance, just keeps using her debit card. She spent $700 on groceries last month and there is only her. I don’t spend that much money for two of us and we eat well. She needs to stop going to the grocery store every day!
Supper will be pulled pork fries for me and weinies/beanies for DH.

Add me to those that didn't sleep well. My problem was our heat wave and the decision to shut off the AC and open windows at 10 last night. I'm puttering through Monday morning chores. The yoga class I like isn't until noon which really messes my day. Definitely a first world problem, but I love 9:30 classes because I can get on with the day after. Mondays I feel like by the time I'm done class, showered and eat something the day is gone. I'm sorry your community is on edge and under threat, Linda. I do have hope that change will happen, but it has been hard to hold onto that hope every time another community goes through a shooting trauma. Dinner tonight is easy. We grilled enough vegetables yesterday for me to chop up the leftovers and, voila, tonight we are having chopped grilled vegetable salad with a Balsamic glaze drizzled over them. Sausages are optional for anyone not wanting to participate in Meatless Monday.

Sorry so many of us had sleeping issues last night! I got my work done for the day and now I'm just catching up on some TV. I've had a sharp pain in my stomach most of the day that is really annoying. I was going to have the parents over for dinner but I think I'm going to order in Teriyaki tonight. That sounds nice and mild for my stomach.
