Janet from RTS will no longer be adding content to her Youtube channel or Patreon. She is one of the most prolific scrappy YTers I have ever come across. I have always appreciated her dedication to our craft. So many of us are in the same season of life. I wish her the best. Her e-mail announcement: Hello Friends, I truly thought by this time I would be back in my studio posting new videos, (and playing with pretty paper) but 2024 has other plans for me. Over the past several months, I have learned (the hard way) when real life comes at you with both propellers whirling – you might as well get yourself a ticket and take a seat (‘cause you can’t do a single thing about it). And that has been 2024 for me. I am in the season of life where my parents are aging (both 80), my J-Gram is aging (near 90), and family members are facing health battles. And that simply means I need to be available for them. I knew this time would come, but not so sudden – and all at once. And while 2024 has been a fast-changing year; there have been some HAPPY moments. THIS Janet got to see THE Janet (Janet Jackson, of course) in an amazing concert. My little one is settled-in and absolutely living her best life in her new place. And hubby is closing in on his much-needed retirement days. Over the years, this hobby has brought such immense joy into my life and it has been a true blessing to share my passionate love of ‘recording the story’. I will never be able to express my unmeasurable gratefulness and love to those of you who have gifted me: encouragement, support, kindness, compassion, generosity, and laughter. Without each and every one of you, RTS would not have existed. God provided the platform, and I have only ever been a vessel to share this passion and purpose. So, with this new season of my life comes another change. I will not be adding any new content to our RTS community (either here or on YouTube). Life as evolved as time to move-on to the next chapter of my Story. If 2024 has taught me anything this year- it is this…..while it is absolutely worthy of us to be of service to others; we must be of service to ourselves first. So, remember to honor YOUR life story first … because you are important. You have a purpose. As always, Patreon will continue to manage and maintain all RTS content, as we do not have access to account information and such. All videos and posts will remain for as long as you wish to enjoy them. For any and all support, reach out to our Patreon team here: support.patreon.com/hc/en-usLastly, God is good….because He lead me to all of you. Thank you for being a part of my Story. Much love and a million scrappy hugs, Xoxoxo Janet

I stopped subbing a while ago. I was pretty sure this is where she was headed. Loved that built a little cult. Never quite understood it all, but loved that people found a place to go for support and ideas.

I did like her videos, and found some inspiration there, although it definitely had its own vibe. I just find it relaxing to watch people play with paper . I unsubscribed last night, which was probably overdue as she wasn't releasing anything new.

I don't tend to make layouts without pictures although I do like her Base Pages, and I use the Block and Band designs a lot. Also she got me pulling out my edge punches again. Not everything she does is my style but I do appreciate her passion for scrapbooking.

She made mixed media look so easy! I'm sorry life is getting in her way.

It's probably because I recently discovered her videos, I am lucky like that...
For some reason, I can't seem to remember what RTS stands for and have to keep looking it up.

I don't know her, and I don't think I've seen her videos, but I am sorry for those who regularly enjoy her content.
DH & I have a habit of having tea together each day after work, and we watch one or two YouTube videos, always from a small handful of channels we both like and that have relatively short videos about either recreational pursuits or with educational content.
About a year ago or so one couple we used to watch once a week stopped being content creators, and even though there are plenty of other people to watch, and even though we don't know these people, we still missed seeing their video every Friday for some time. And occasionally we still wax nostalgic about the years when they were putting out the weekly content.

I watch a family on YT and if ever they decide to stop posting, I am going to miss them so much!

Her style isn’t really my style but I enjoyed her. I watch a few others but none have drawn me in the way she did. I don’t care for voiceovers for the most part and most don’t have a style of speaking while working that I find relaxing. But..I’d love to find some new channels

I watched her, and paid for Patreon, until there was a kerfuffle a couple of years ago.

I watched her videos on YouTube before she was on Patreon, and liked them quite a bit.
I'm sorry to hear she is entering a hard chapter in her life. Caring for loved ones can really wear you down.

I credit Janet and Shimelle into getting me back into scrapbooking when I had taken what appeared to be a 4 year break and then I was considering selling it all and just quitting. I decided before I did that to check out some youtube content, I found those two and 2peas and now here I am, with more stuff than ever lol.
But Janet really energized me. She was relenlessly positive, told me I could in fact scrapbook, nothing had to be perfect and if I was stuck on something, well, why not go stretch my legs and throw in a load of laundry? DH was shocked that laundry was getting done whilst scrapbooking lol.
She's had some bumps in the road and I am 99% sure we don't agree on a lot of things but she was a unique voice and will be very much missed.

I subscribe to Janet's Patreon channel and saw the message. I didn't watch all that many videos and have always thought I would go back and dip into those I missed that interested me. At $1 a month, I figure I will take my time to decide on that. I've appreciated Janet's energy and creativity over the years, dating back to before this iteration of what she chooses to share of her hobby on the Internet.

I haven't listened in a while and but I feel like she might do more storytelling then scrap talk but I could be wrong about this part. She's definitely worth checking out. [edit: I can't link her channel correctly - but it's nicolejones911] I'm sorry to see Janet have to abandon something she seemed to enjoy doing and hope she is just stepping back from recording/sharing content.

Wait, wait, wait... OK, I only skimmed the 19-page thread from 2022 but they mentioned her screen name on here was Cherrypicker? Is that the same Cherrypicker who used to post daily posts on here with prompts? I know she left this board for some dramatic reason. Or am I confusing two different people?

I know she left this board for some dramatic reason. Or am I confusing two different people? I remember her doing a hairflip (I thought it was at Two Peas but don't remember the details). I think Janet is very sensitive. I do appreciate her passion for scrapbooking, I lost all my local scrapbook stores and have noticed the scrapbook sections shrinking in the big box stores by me, so I appreciate people like her creating excitement for scrapbooking.

I was never a fan of RTS for a variety of reasons and never enjoyed her videos on YT. Too religious for me and too I am better than you vibes.
I tried her FB group but bounced real quick. Mean girl from Jr High is what it should have been called. Or kiss up scrapbookers.
I do wish her well as well as her family. Aging isn't easy.
