Are you supposed to light the candles every time you open the door or leave them burning to warm up the cold interior until they run out of oxygen

Totally ridiculous. Looks like an awesome way to ruin those photos because I can’t think of a worse place for storing them with all the humidity inside a refrigerator. 🤦🏻♀️ There wouldn’t be room for all that excess stuff in my fridge. I think the all clear storage is kinda nuts too, how do you know when anything is close to expiring? That's what I thought about the photos too. Not the place for them. And then the candles? I can't imagine those wouldn't be ruined too. And God knows they aren't lighting them.

They will be battery candles, no?
There is so much I could say about this, I feel it needs its own thesis. Or maybe I should get online immediately and offer to do it for others, at a fee. There’s bound to be some who would pay for it.

There’s bound to be some who would pay for it. Every once in a while, it startles me just how out of the popular culture loop I am. I have successfully transitioned into old woman who thinks the world was markedly better in many ways 30 years ago. And I read something like this and I think to myself...I have many thoughts. Good thing I have you guys to debate it with because it often comes through as "get off my lawn" and at least some of you are willing to hear my diatribe. 😂 So please, feel free to share. This is a "safe" space. 😉

If it weren't such a colossal time suck (for me), I might try to set up my fridge that way just to screw with my family. Otherwise, no way. You know how you clean the kitchen and then someone comes in and fixes a sandwich and all your work is ruined? This would be an ongoing battle since I live with 4 other people who sometimes find it hard to find the pickles that are in the same spot they've been in on the fridge door for millennia.
Perhaps, instead, I'll just organize my basement shelves to look like that since there's more space. I'm sure none of it will be messed up when we go to make something that has more than one ingredient. :X
I do love when the Peas post something like this that I probably would not have seen otherwise. <3

I haven't read much of this thread, and haven't looked at the link, although I did see something somewhere about this trend. My first thought was "oh these people clearly don't have anyone else living with them, and especially they don't have kids or teens!" Although as dawnnikol said in her post, I'd love to do this one day just to mess with my husband. hahahaha

WTAF? I’m grateful to have a new fridge that has room for food. I just can’t imagine. Who looks in someone’s fridge anyway? I know I know..this is for social media. Crazy.

People can do what they want i guess but even that year I lived by myself I didn’t have the refrigerator space to be decorating. As it is now I have two full refrigerators.

If it makes you happy, go for it. But I think it's stupid.

To each their own… goes against my Swedish death cleaning minimalist heart but if it makes her happy then so be it. But I am also left asking - where does it end? Toilet cisterns, washing machine interiors, the inside of your oven? I think if I was using my fridge to store ornaments I’d ditch the fridge and just put in shelving instead so I don’t have to open the door to view my pretties… and I don’t care if not having a fridge is weird to others it just has to work for the owner. It does make me wonder why more news stories are not being made on actual news though… there are still conflicts etc throughout the world that are very nuanced and need more coverage on ALL of the different viewpoints and yet this “news” company is getting article ideas off tik tok??? Journalists of old must be turning in their graves… LOL. On that note, I was skimming through the daily digest of articles I get from the New York Times (which I don’t subscribe to, so I can’t actually read the article) and there was one with a photo of a “creatively arranged TSA tray” and my first thought was, “who in the hell has time for that when you’re at the airport and you have 8,000 angry people waiting behind you to get through the line?” 🤪🙄 FFS that line already goes slow enough on a good day. If someone is wasting time to creatively arrange their tray someone else is bound to go off. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

I have not read the other responses yet but I am betting there are some good ones, can’t wait to read through. I always enjoy the humor (sarcastic, dry, or belly laugh) that is seen in so many’s posts.
My take on Fridgescaping…😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣. However, if it makes you happy and you enjoy doing it…go for it.
My fridge can be considered an abstract piece of art when you open the door. You never know what you will find, where, in what condition or if it is even identifiable . 😉 And there is only me, I can’t imaging if other people were using it too.

My first thought was "oh these people clearly don't have anyone else living with them, and especially they don't have kids or teens!" No kidding! I can't even get the people in my house to stick to the minimal fridge "rules" I have been trying to establish since forever. You know, nothing ridiculous, just condiments on the door, tall things on the one shelf that can hold tall things (as opposed to shoving some tiny little thing behind the tall things to be forgotten), pouches in a bin so they don't all fall over. Logical, easy things. If I told them they had to make sure to leave my bouquet and candlesticks on shelf 2 and my photo of Great-Grandma on shelf 1, they'd laugh me right out of the house.

Good Lord. I guess if it makes them happy go ahead, not my fridge, not my money. It boggles my mind that CNN is doing a story on this.
I haven't seen this on TT and I'm not going to search it b/c it'll be all over my FYP. It's like those people who do the fridge restocks and decant everything and everything has a storage container. Again, more power to you. It looks nice I guess but it'd be a hot mess the first time I had to go looking for something. It's not my jam and I wouldn't have the time or money to do that (buying all the containers). If it makes you happy when you open your fridge then have at it.

I don’t know how many people outside of IG do this but if they have time and money to waste on this good luck to them. I do think they probably need more worthwhile ways of spending their time and money.

I don't really think it actually makes them happy? I mean the flowers, photo decorations...They are doing it for views and views = money apparently. So, some people are making a living off this crap. Unbelievable!

peabay said: it's all about the clicks. Exactly. It is literally something to show off online. What is the trippy part is, who is consuming this content? Moms who try to keep up with the Jones's. The ones who want Pinterest worthy spaces. Neatly organized fridges. Keeping up with the Jones's has been a thing since the 80s. Don't remember it much in the 70s or talk of it but in the 90s it was very much a thing. Especially in middle class families. I married a Jones. The bar is pretty low around here. 😂 Feel good that you’re keeping up with my family. ❤️
