Good afternoon, It has been another lovely day here. Mid morning, I headed into the city, as I was meeting a friend just after 1pm. I’d got about 3 bus stops in when DS called, because Sophia wanted to say hello. I got off the bus at the next stop to chat to both girls and DS, then continued on my way. I did a bit of shopping, then ate lunch before meeting my friend.
Now I am home and will be on my own for dinner, as DH has his annual work Oktoberfest visit. He’d been home and left again by the time I got back.
Dinner for me will the leftover paella from Friday. DH will have either half a chicken or schnitzel with fries.

Happy Monday! I'm dragging this morning which I guess is typical on a Monday but I like those Mondays when I wake up refreshed and ready to take on the world. Not so mucn today Our annual insurance renewal is this week so I've spent my morning comparing plans and checking to make sure my doctors and hospitals are all in-network. The costs are going up a bit so I think i'm going to switch from an all encompassing plan to just the in-network one. I'm looking into bariatric surgery in the new year so I need to make sure that is covered as well which it seems to be. Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I had planned on making cheeseburger soup but I don't have any velveeta so I may look for another recipe. It's very dark, rainy and a bit dreary here this morning but we needed the rain so I'm not complaining. I'm cozy in a big t-shirt and leggings working from the couch. Hope you all have a great day!

Stepping in for my first week. I have handbells tonight and won't be eating until after that. I am on my own and having a ramen bowl. I've added cucumbers, edamame, carrots and it has a spicy almond butter dressing.
I did some meal prepping yesterday and that was on the list. I am also flat worn out from doing a lot in the kitchen yesterday.
Something big is coming up tomorrow with my H. I am not comfortable sharing what but prayers would be appreciated.

Something big is coming up tomorrow with my H. I am not comfortable sharing what but prayers would be appreciated. Prayers for the two of you! I'm glad you've decided to join us on the thread. None of us are interesting today. LOL! Must be a Monday. I will say this, we had a meeting this morning with the head of accounting. My coworker didn't show up and so I told this woman (who I know very well from my time in accounting) I would run with her issue and she totally told my boss that she doesn't know when my coworker works. She is unaware of her hours and can never manage to catch her online. My boss, of course, made excuses for her but at least someone other than me said something. I was giving a silent cheer. I then reached out to her after the meeting and asked her if she would give me some coaching for my job interview tomorrow. She said she would. So there's that. Other than that, boring Monday here. Chloe and I were supposed to have dinner tomorrow night. She needs me to print something for her today. So she was going to stop by to pick it up. I suggested we switch our dinner to tonight. So I'll be having sushi.

I am serving tacos and tostadas with black beans, sauteed red onion and zucchini, lettuce, green onion, cheese, and various types of salsas and sauces.
It's Monday night football, so Mexican is always on deck.
Ds team won, my team won, and now we will watch dh's team hopefully win. I am not a fan of dual Monday night games. The NFL doesn't seem to like to schedule afternoon games anymore. Whatever.

Happy Monday dinner friends. Day 3 of Hangar fire drama- But it's all working out ok. DH is there and will actually asses the plane today, we are hoping that the water from the sprinklers didn't damage the avionics if so, the insurance claim will be more substantial and more work to get her back in the air. Yesterday he spent the day there with a friend cleaning out trash that got wet and figuring out what will need to be replaced. It was a good day for me though, the puppy and I sewed and relaxed. I felt a little guilty since DH has been stressing and working his tail off. I just finished a painful conference call, I have a large group transitioning to a new Account Exec. The new girl is flighty and unaware of the scope of work. I've worked with her several times to prep her, I hope she can fly now, I want her to succeed, but can't baby her forever, I'm getting two LARGE clients to replace the one medium sized one she's getting. Wish me luck everyone! naby64 Welcome! and sending prayers for your husband. We are all here to support you and him! scrapmaven- enjoy your time in H-town. I wish I were closer to join you and **GypsyGirl** Dinner will be something with ground beef. Maybe sloppy jo's or a casserole of some sort. Wishing everyone a great Monday!

DH and I just got home from grocery shopping. He will be in his own while I’m cruising so I got him all stocked up on groceries so the poor guy doesn’t starve. We stopped at our favourite chicken place for a lunch sandwich.
I was looking at the extra travel insurance that I bought for my trip. I noticed the date was on Thursday and we’ve decided to go on Wednesday to avoid any plane disruptions. I had to go back to CAA and buy one more day of insurance. Only cost $8.00 so I was happy about that.
Supper will be spaghetti. And now off to pack…

Hello All. It has been a couple of months since I posted. And what a couple of months. I had a fall at the end of July. And literally broke my face. I fracture on the orbital floor, bone under the eye. And damage to ocular nerve. They had to do an emergency procedure in ED to relive pressure in the eye socket, I won't go into details for that but I was awake when they were doing it. Luckily they gave me some good drugs and I was in just too much shock and pain to care. The aftermath of that would require me to have cosmetic surgery 2 weeks later after some of the swelling went down. And then more bruising and swelling again. I got hives from an antibiotic and got bit by the neighbor's dog. I am now almost 2 months out and still have some swelling and some bruising. I have lost vision in my left eye for the most part. The best I can describe what I have for vision is if you are looking at a rectangle, I can see the upper right corner of that rectangle. When I move my eye, the right corner moves. I can't focus on anything in that corner, the center of my vision is gone. The rest is blackish. Luckily my work has been very understanding. I have been working from home since the fall. I have made a couple of test drives in my car, but I am not comfortable enough to go out of my neighborhood or to go with a lot of traffic. Mentally, I am trying to accept this. But there are still very hard days. I am still waiting to get my new glasses (I was wearing mine when I fell). And I am hoping that will help with the headaches I get everyday. I am thinking it is because my backup glasses are old and the prescription is old. But, I wanted to visit the Tribe. I have read here and there but wanted to finally participate. I have put in a beef roast in the slow cooker this morning for dinner tonight. This is a big step for me because I have not cared one iota what to have for dinner. Baby steps!

Wow! scrappert I'm so sorry. What a terrible thing to have happen. Do they think you have any chance of getting that vision back? I cannot even imagine how it must have impacted your work and then driving too! How has the surgery on your face been? Are you healing alright?

scrappert I am so sorry. I have missed you. I figured you got busy with life. Or something but not horrific! I do wish you lots of good days in your hopefully speedy recovery. We are going to London Drugs soon and I expect we will take Dexter. We have food for dinner. It might be the spaghetti and meat sauce and I think we can both agree that is a good decision. No pasta for me. That said my weight is down. Yay!!!

scrappert!! hugs and sounds you are doing as well as you can!! your strength is showing! prayers and hugs for naby64.
the weather is perfect out. I spent the morning on errands.. the car wash, drop off donations, the coffee store, the grocery store, and the drug store and shoe store looking for new laces. no one had them.
relaxing this afternoon. dh is taking doggy for a walk. I am making mushroom/chicken stirfry for dinner, with salad and a mandarin orange. tuesday is the day we go to organic food store.. local farmer comes with truck load of local produce. we are good friends with the owner, since her husband was our contractor on our condo.
I hate the old cheap silverware we inherited with the condo, so brought a sterling silver set of my grandparents to use. I think if I put it on top rack it will be ok in dishwasher. it is deco style..circa 1924.
it is our anniversary tomorrow. so going out to dinner!! year number 41. still happy.

Thank you All. Unfortunately, damage to the optic nerve is irreversible. It is what it is. And that is what I have to come to terms with. Sucks for sure. How has the surgery on your face been? Are you healing alright? Surgery on the face was a different experiance. I was not put fully under so I was aware of everything they were doing. However, I had some really good drugs and I just had to ask for more if I was becoming TOO aware or if I was starting to feel anything. Not something I want to repeat. The healing is real good. Right now since there is still bruising, you can see that something happened. But once that is gone, no one will be able to tell at a quick glance. My left eye is set back a little from the right, but that is really only noticeable to me and those who know.

naby64, scrappert Sending you both my best wishes! 💕💕 jeremysgirl Best of luck! 🤞🏼 DH and I both took today off, and I'm glad to have a lazy day at home with him and Miss Bess. I did a mountain of laundry this morning, and we've been watching TV basically all day. This week's dinner will be sausage and shells, one of our favorites. We didn't add the Boursin, but I'm sure it'll still be tasty. Tomorrow will be very busy because I have about 75 more submissions for our call for proposals to add to my tracking sheet (nothing like waiting til the last minute -- yesterday was the deadline to submit, and we added a new question this year that I think was holding some folks up). Then I will compile everything for the committee. Fortunately, everything is electronic this year, so I will not have to spend 8 hours printing and collating everything.
