I had a very vivid dream last night about starting a thread here asking everyone what they need a "jar of". In my dream the thread was very specific in that it had to be a practical jar of something (you couldn't say a jar of hope, rainbows, magic wishes, etc.). Things got a little heated in the dream because people would not follow the rules and kept arguing about them.
So...in honor of my dream, what do you need a jar of? I need a jar of sundried tomatoes.
Feel free to follow the rules or not...this is real life. :-)

ROFL that the peas got into heated arguments !!! I can't say I *NEED* it, but I would kill for a jar of black raspberry (NOT blackberry) no-sugar-added preserves. Smucker's and Polaner's were delicious, but don't currently exist. Google tells me it's because there's a shortage of black raspberries. Went to MANY websites, and it's hard to find any WITHOUT that damn high fructose corn syrup. The Smucker's "Simply" brand was just berries, water, etc. but no added crap.

I need a jar of really good salsa. Same here! I was literally just at the store with DD to look for something she wanted, and I asked her if there was anything else we needed since we were already there. Nope, nothing. Got home and she wanted to make Spanish rice for dinner and in the process used up almost all of the salsa we had left. Then she lamented that we had almost no salsa to eat with chips tomorrow. 🤦🏻♀️ Dude. We were JUST at the store!

Patience... I think I encountered every stupid driver in my city today. If that's not available then maybe a really good salsa.

Dijon mustard. I usually have a spare and rarely run out. But we have run out and I forgot to buy it last week.

My skin is in desperate need.

Im home alone all week and made myself an egg/potato/bacon burrito for dinner using up some stuff I had in the fridge. And only then figured out I had no salsa. WTF. I always have some hidden in the pantry for emergencies, but I guess we used it and I didn't realize it.

I need a jar of really good salsa. Umm, you live in Texas! How on earth is that even possible??? A jar of chockcherry jelly. I don't believe I've ever heard of a chockcherry. What is it and where do you find one?

Arrabbiata pasta sauce. I ordered 2 jars through Amazon, which I have done before without any problems. The Walmart close to my house does not always have it. They were supposed to come yesterday but didn’t. I checked Amazon today and it said my account was refunded due to a problem. It listed possible issues like they could not locate my address, or the package was dropped, breakage, etc. I have never had a delivery not find my house before so I am assuming the jars broke.
I made taco soup instead. I was all excited to try out the chickpea pasta that I bought since it is high protein and fiber, therefore better for you. Arrabbiata is the only pasta sauce that I like. Everything else tastes too sweet to me.

What is it and where do you find one? I'm not brynn but when I saw her post, I had to like it right away. As kids we use to go chokecherry picking. Mom would make jelly and syrup from the berries. They grew close to streams here in Colorado. They are a little berry that ripens to a really dark purple berry. They are bitter as heck, but make a lovely light tasting jelly/jam. The taste is difficult to explain. Weeee bit of tart, yet really mild like honeysuckle.

I wish I had a jar of my Grandma’s apple butter. It was so creamy. I know the ingredients were basic. It must have been the types of apples she used and the proportions. She had ten of those Nesco roaster ovens plugged in different rooms (kitchen, dining room, living room) so she wouldn’t trip the circuit breakers. She slowly simmered the apples on low heat to caramelize the apples for hours. Nutmeg, Not too much cinnamon. I’ve never had any apple butter as good as Grandma’s.
Yum. I wish I had some now.

Oh, gosh. This really does have the potential to cause some drama, but I do actually need jarlic. Yes, I need a jar of pre-minced garlic. I’ve been out for a while and I’m sick of having to clean my garlic press.

A jar of chockcherry jelly. Aww… I just attended our local chokecherry festival on Saturday! I’m all stocked up… do you want me to send you some? (I helped my mom make it when I was younger, but now I’m just happy to buy it from my friend!)

Y'all are making me hungry...and nostalgic for a jar of my Mom's crab-apple jelly. We had a couple of crab apple trees in our yard growing up and after my siblings and I had the annual crab apple fight* we'd pick bunches of them and my mom would make jelly. It didn't yield much (crab apples are small), but they were so good and tart!
*No one remembers exactly how the crab apple fight started but we threw crab apples at each other in the spirit of a really good family snowball fight. It involved lookout posts in the branches of both trees in order to bean the crab apples at unsuspecting family members below - it was a ton of fun and our parents even joined in the fun sometimes. It became an annual event until we outgrew it.
I came into this thread to say I wanted a jar of that whipped honey (anyone remember that?) but then started thinking about my Mom's crab apple jelly...

Well, timely thread, because last week I had a dream about strawberry jam, how good it tastes, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. DH and I were in the city over the weekend and he brought me a bagel and 2 little tubs of Smucker’s strawberry jelly from the hotel breakfast. I do appreciate his thoughtfulness, I do. But when you dream about homemade jam only that will do. The bigger question is: why are so many Peas needing jam?

The truth is my dad thinks we need a Costco sized jar of this skookum French strawberry jam I love. We have half a regular jar in the fridge. I don’t eat any sugar so who will eat it? If I asked him tonight he would go early tomorrow. I am not getting jam.
