I need a jar of really good salsa. Umm, you live in Texas! How on earth is that even possible??? A jar of chockcherry jelly. I don't believe I've ever heard of a chockcherry. What is it and where do you find one? Chockcherry trees were planted, and my mom would can jam ane sauce out of their fruit. In Canada, I think they are called Saskatchewan berries/

I need a jar of the Fat Bastard's Hogwash BBQ sauce for my pork steak for tomorrow night's dinner. I got it at a little country store in Washington but last time I was there they were out.

Y'all are making me hungry...and nostalgic for a jar of my Mom's crab-apple jelly. We had a couple of crab apple trees in our yard growing up and after my siblings and I had the annual crab apple fight* we'd pick bunches of them and my mom would make jelly. It didn't yield much (crab apples are small), but they were so good and tart! *No one remembers exactly how the crab apple fight started but we threw crab apples at each other in the spirit of a really good family snowball fight. It involved lookout posts in the branches of both trees in order to bean the crab apples at unsuspecting family members below - it was a ton of fun and our parents even joined in the fun sometimes. It became an annual event until we outgrew it. I came into this thread to say I wanted a jar of that whipped honey (anyone remember that?) but then started thinking about my Mom's crab apple jelly... Oh yes, crabapple jelly made by my grandmother. Oh so good!!!

I wish I had a jar of my Grandma’s apple butter. It was so creamy. I know the ingredients were basic. It must have been the types of apples she used and the proportions. She had ten of those Nesco roaster ovens plugged in different rooms (kitchen, dining room, living room) so she wouldn’t trip the circuit breakers. She slowly simmered the apples on low heat to caramelize the apples for hours. Nutmeg, Not too much cinnamon. I’ve never had any apple butter as good as Grandma’s. Yum. I wish I had some now. Yes, apple butter. I have not had homemade, but I like the store brand of 'Shop Rite'... Thinking north coast area.

mom...as soon as I saw your answer, just like **GypsyGirl**, my mind IMMEDIATELY went to "she lives in Texas, and she has HEB Central Market !!! (I miss it a lot !) AND....possibly some good Mom & Pop restaurants that look like dives; but have the BEST salsa (I miss that, too!)

Things got a little heated in the dream because people would not follow the rules and kept arguing about them. We need DEETS! Was Yubon there? Nurse Kitty? Lauren? ,etc.

I need a jar of pickle spears. I was at a restaurant a few weeks ago and I had a sandwich that came with a pickle spear, you know how deli sandwiches do. And so did Jeremy's sandwich. And I ate both spears because he doesn't like them. And the whole time I was thinking, if I like pickle spears so much, why is it that I can't recall ever buying a jar in my adult life?

This is hilarious! What a weird (and weirdly specific) dream. If you had asked me on Saturday what I need a jar of, I would have said I need a jar of Meredith Dairy marinated goat cheese, because I used the last block on a pizza the day before. But DD gave me one on Sunday as part of my birthday present. I also used most of my remaining anchovies on the same pizza, so I guess I need a jar of anchovies! I also wouldn't say no to a jar of magic wishes, just sayin'....

his is a very legit need! We can't get the Del Monte Sweet Pickle relish in TN. We have tried every sweet pickle relish available and they don't taste the same. My MIL makes a pasta dish with it and I thought she was ridiculous but it really doesn't taste right with out the Del Monte brand. We have our son mail us jars a few times a year and when anyone comes to visit from the west coast, they bring us a couple jars.

Kalamata olives, always.
A really good, non greasy, fast absorbing body cream. Anyone have a suggestion?
Funny about arguing about the rules!

I would love a jar of some sort of fruit preserves that has NO sugar and NO artificial sweeteners. Or a jar of something else -- like apple butter maybe, but no sugar -- that could go on toast or as the "J" in a PB&J sandwich.

My dad did, so back when we ordered pizza he and I would get one, then my mother would get her own small one. She said even if we got anchovies on only half she could still taste them. She said the juice swam over to her side.

A jar of wild plum jam. I lost my source of wild plums and can no longer make it. It does not taste at all like the cultivated plums used to make commercial plum jam.
ETA: DH bought a jar of plum jam and it is so thick and stiff that he is using his table knife to slice off a bit to put on his toast. Strangest plum jam we have ever purchased. It is Blackburn's brand (small company in Texas).
DH loves black raspberry jam. It is difficult to find, I usually have to go to a particular store to get it. He will be disappointed that it is out of stock now.

I have a jar of buttons. Do I need to auction them here?
How I acquired this jar: If I am tossing clothes because they are just worn out, not worthy of donating, I cut the buttons off and put them in the jar. I use them when DH loses a button from his clothing.
