Ellie went to the doggie spa today. We can actually see her eyes again. She looks so cute fluffy. But doodles are so curly that you have to brush constantly. One before and two after.

a nap is either a little sleep, a lie down, a 20 min rest to read.. or anything like any of the above. I've gotten in the habit of a 20-minute nap, especially in the afternoon after I've done AquaFit in the morning. I set my cell alarm for 20 minutes and pretty much the minute my head hits the pillow, I'm in a deep sleep. I've read that anything over 20 minutes might ruin your sleep cycles and, as y'all know, I'm a rule follower! The Quick Quote has been wonky for me too.

I don't usually take a nap but times just come along and the body shuts down. I, at that point, give in to the couch. It's right at an hour and it's normally a hard nap. Then I'm up and good and hit the bed at normal time.
Reporting back my shrimp boil was a bit disappointing. I wanted more flavor. DH said it was very good. So he will get the leftovers.

jeremysgirl, she's so darn cute. What a sweetie. christine58, Harper looks like a very loving doggie. What a cutie. If the stray gives birth to kittens in my yard I'll try and get photos to have other people post, since I get so stuck trying to post photos. We have a feral cat rescue, but they're too busy to trap anyone and spay or neuter them.

I’ve never done one at home but have always wanted to. I had a long list of things to get done inside & outside but the rain from Helene has been going all day here. We even saw the minks run out of our creek, cross the street and go into the big pond behind those houses. Dd2 & I went to the mall to look at baby stuff. That took all day 😂 Of course I bought quite a few outfits. I’m not a napper either. Never have been. I made homemade pizza with peppers, olives, pepperoni & jalapeños on half. Taco soup for me needs to be thick but not so thick that you can’t eat it with a spoon. I don’t add thickener. It just thickens. The other day someone brought up roasted vegetables. I will roast any veggie in my house.

teddyw, I wish dd2 an uneventful, healthy, long pregnancy. I have stopped taking naps, because I have enough energy to stay awake all day. When I'm having a bad flare then I nap for 2 hours.

I am not a napper either. I had Covid in August and took a 3 hr nap on the last day I was sick. I may have taken a nap when I broke my arm in the winter but doubt it. I spent years like leannec awake all night long sleeping 30 min at 4 pm.

Sorry for interjecting on your dinner thread when I am not even a cook, but Lexica , I have a question for you (or anyone else). Does your taco soup come out like a real soup, or is it a more thicker substance? Mine comes out thicker than say a vegetable soup and I wondered it it was just me. I do like it, so not a problem, but still wondered about others' soup. Thanks! Mine comes out watery like a regular soup. I think the trick there is to make sure you rinse all of your canned beans. And use plenty of chicken broth. The one time that I was just not thinking and I dumped the beans into the soup pot right from the can without rinsing them, the soup was thicker and quite cloudy looking. And truthfully, I did not like the taste as much. I need the broth to be clear and plentiful because I add a bit of grated cheese and a spoon of sour cream right before serving it and that makes it taste fantastic, but does thicken it a bit. The one time that I didn’t rinse the beans, adding the sour cream to serve it made it thicker and just not as tasty. Ok now I need a recipe. And can I make it without meat?

Hi guys! I’ve been a lurker for quite awhile and just recently set up an account so I could post. Yesterday with all of the rain from Helene we made Beef tips in brown gravy in my Instapot. Ate that over mashed potatoes for dinner. I will have leftovers for dinner.

Oh I'm very much a napper. I like to read in bed and my eyes tend to get heavy and then I'm out. I love a good nap!

At that point it just becomes bean soup. But of course you could! IIRC it's beef, kidney beans, black beans corn, taco seasoning and ranch seasoning. There seems to be multiple of one of those beans. Oh, and a can of rotel. I only used the black beans and corn with all the other fixings. I have a block of Impossible meat to use in taco bowls this week. Shhhhhh, don't tell the other person in the house.

Got it - that sounds good to me. I do use impossible meat sometimes (for tacos, for example) and could add that as well. Thanks!

Thank you peas for responding to my taco soup question. I guess mine is like everyone else's except for Lexica 's. See? I said I am not a cook. I didn't know to use broth, but I am pretty happy with the way it comes out now, so I wil leave that out. I do not add any thickener either. Just the stuff called for in the recipe, and I do rinse out the beans. Thanks, again. ETA: Just adding. I don't do naps. Could I? Yes. But I am a night owl and if I take a nap I will be awake for hours. Can't do that when I have to get up for work. Weekends I just let myself go to sleep whenever. Last night it was 11-ish. Today it might be 1-2am.
