bc2ca---I was catching up on yesterday's thread, and I am LOVING the story of the miss-spelled Halloween sign---something like "psychio" And your Dad (?) built an actual haunted house every year !??!! WoW! My sister is babysitting all of her grands tonight (5) because their parents have their 20 year high school reunion. I told her I'd help as they range in age from 8 months to 7 years. I'll be bringing wine Yes, 5 kiddies is A LOT, but soooo fun! I still remember babysitting my 3 niblings when I was early twenties. I adored them, and we had a BLAST. But after getting home, I'd realize how exhausted I was, and that my stressful, full-time job was easier. (not really, but tired-wise, it was). jeremysgirl.....hmmm...what about a lasagna where half is vegan, and the other half has faux-ground beef? That may sound weird to make one big lasagne having 2 different sections, but I do it all the time. I put wooden scewers as a divider. Since one of your guests won't eat vegan, offereing something with lots of components & flavorful as lasagne would sort of "hide" the fact there was no real meat. Or if you decide on vegan charcuterie for everyone else, maybe give that one guest a big ole' hunk of salami to gnaw on? Speaking of "char-coo--terr---eeee", I love looking at the gorgeous/ creative ways people make them. Have you seen Halloween-themed ones? They are sooo fun! I've never made one, but maybe I will this year. **Also....I did NOT know you had a goldendoodle !! Sooo cute! **. I always picture your sweet doggie that was white---is/ was her name Amelia?

christine58----Just saw your question about supplements. Awww, I'm sorry Harper is starting to show signs of arthritis We tried MANY, MANY things for Meaty and Sophie's joint issues. I believe that for SOME doggies, they really help. But of course, you have to try several. For a long time, we gave them one of those "Most Vet Recommended" Chondroitins, and even though we never saw an improvement in their walking / stiffness, I just prayed they at least had pain relief. Sophie ended up taking some NSAIDs but that caused tummy issues. Meaty took Gabapentin and another med I can't remember. We also tried MANY different brands of CBD oil. I don't usually go for trendy things and I was very skeptical. BUT-- lots of our fellow bulldog lovers said that CBD oil really improved their babies' mobility. It never helped them. Even tried accupuncture!!! (nod to scrapmaven ) . Again, many of our fellow bulldog lovers reccommended it. It was one of the last things we tried, but no results. The very honest, paw-some vet even told us that if she didn't see improvement after a certain time, there was no need to continue. But---OMG, the video of them during accupunctiure is sooo cute and funny!!! They were both so mellow with the needles in, and there's this cute/ weird music playing. OMG, you were probably hoping for a BRIEF answer !!!!

I've decided to go with the soup, salad bread option. I'm going to put a minestrone soup in my crockpot in the morning. Make up green salad. And then make a homemade loaf of bread. Jeremy does want the charcuterie board but that easy to add vegan and non vegan stuff to.
I was going to make a "egg" frittata but Jeremy insisted it would not please him without real eggs and cheese. So that's where I thought breakfast might be tough. It's him. The other guests are fine. He is also insisting on cheese and salami on the charcuterie. And that fine. I can do that for him. I think this will please everyone.
We had to put Amelia down in December. December 1st. Jeremy's daughters friend was having to re-home Ellie just two weeks later. I wasn't quite ready for another dog, but Jeremy was insistent. I have never seen him so upset as when Amelia died. She was his girl. We had an old dog who was always laid back anyway. And now we have a very young dog who is super rambunctious. She's playful. So much energy. But good temperament. She's a good dog.

Linda--SO happy to hear the good news! tmarschall---Your glasses are SO cute! How did I not know about these fun things? Delta Dawn---I'm glad Dexter's okay! My sweet Meaty had chronic ear issues that one time became quite serious. One (of MANY!) things we tried was lazer therapy. Awww, sweet memories of Meaty wearing the special dark glasses while his cute ears got "zapped". The tech and I had to wear the goggles, too. naby64---Oh my goodnesss, if you're wanting a doggie, I hope that other hooman will not look at you that way, and you can get one!

jeremysgirl.......I'm posting a pik of my *divided* lasagne, but I realize you won't see it unless you're on your phone. Haven't done it in a while, but I forgot to mention is that I would make a thick "wall" with aluminum foil to keep the halves separate. (I do this because DH doesn't like the cottage cheese/ cream cheese layer that's my favorite part!)

I mean I won't eat cheese or meat. And he can't even imagine lasagna without cheese or meat. I have a ton of alternatives but Jeremy is not on board. 😂 My friends new girlfriend is vegetarian. And he eats anything. So they will be fine. Jeremy does like minestrone.

I did not go to see the pups. We have 2 right now. Our oldest is 8 and is a Catahoula Husky mix. Our youngest is 1.5. She's just a goofy mix. Brindle coat, black face and droopy hound dog ears. Most likely a pittie mix. We call her a Mountain Cur. It really isn't a good time right now but that doesn't stop me from looking at out local animal shelter place.
I've been on the couch under a warm throw. The oldest pup has made himself at home on my cold feet.
I've had a small bowl of stew with some Naan. Yes, it was very tasty. It will be perfect when the weather turns cooler. Now I'm going to choose a Harry Potter movie to watch/nap to until time to start dinner.

She seems a little better today if it seems to not really get any better, I will take her to the vet and just see. There’s so many choices out there for supplements that I wouldn’t even know where to start. A friend of mine did do chiropractic with her dogs

christine58 ----I hope you find the paw-fect thing for Harper. There's also physical therapy in a pool for dogs, but they died before we could try it. it was so sad and disappointing for our babies, because our real-life bulldog friends and online hoomans would tell stories of their arthrtitic dogs barely able to walk, to acting like a PUPPY again after taking CBD/ accupuncture. Of course we were thrilled for their doggies, but nothing worked for ours. Precious Meaty's elbows deteriorated so badly in his later years, DH built this for him: (DH is a very smart engineer and LOVES to build things in his free time. Our nephew (who died) used to marvel at everything DH created, made fun comments, and called him a "mechanical genius."

we took off this morning and drove about 1 hour north to Stanley.. a small village in the middle of the mountains. had breakfast for lunch at the local bakery/cafe. stopped to look at the local resort and forest service visitor center at redfish lake. then drove back. got home, then I went to the store.
we are having leftover mexican food for dinner. with some farmer's market strawberries for dessert.
My sister in law--the one with pancreatic cancer--is now on her last days. my brother called. nothing to do.. I was hoping to see her in three weeks, but it looks unlikely. I will be very sad. I keep telling my kids.. every day is a gift. they believe that.

I hope you get some rest today, leannec ! Nick and I are headed over the state line into IL to hit some thrift shops and the half price book store. We will likely have lunch. I'd like to get home early and relax. My Pair Eyewear glasses and accessories came yesterday and they are so fun. The plates just attach with lightweight magnets to change the look. I can't wait to pick out a few more. I love my Snoopy ones! If you promise not to look at the rest of me, here is a picture to share the variety. Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! Those are the cutest and so are you!

Linda , I'm glad to hear that you only suffered minor damage and nothing catastophic happened to your home or loved ones. Thank you for letting us know that you're OK. ntsf , I'm so very sorry to hear that your sil is in her final days. May she pass peacefully. ((((HUGS)))). scrappintoee , any photo of Meaty warms my heart. So, I played the Epic Mickey demo and sat there for 4 hours. I enjoyed it, but I am trying to decide if it's going to be too repetitive or if it will get more interesting. Clearly, it was fun or I would have stopped playing much sooner. Tearisci and naby64 , that's where I'm at w/the game. I demoed it on PC, because reviews said it's better than the Switch version.

tmarschall what a fun idea to have magnetic frames for glasses - I didn't know that was a thing! They all look fabulous on you, of course! And yes, I would love to help test your recipes, when the time comes. cadoodlebug what a gorgeous picture! You live in such a nice area. Linda I'm glad that you seem to have escaped without too much damage - what a relief! And yes, you're lucky that you took those other trees down, I hate to think of the damage they could have done. OMG, you were probably hoping for a BRIEF answer !!!! Hahahahahaaaaaa (breathe) hahahahahahaaaaa! If you'd given a short one sentence answer to anything, I would be sending the paramedics to make sure you were okay. And that's the way we like you. ❤️ I love that contraption that your husband built for precious Meaty. He's a very clever man! ntsf I am sorry about your SIL. What an awful disease that is. I hope her passing is peaceful, and I will be thinking about you and your brother, and your SIL's loved ones. It was AFL Grand Final day here, and I went to my dad's house to watch the game. Dad's best mate and his son, who we go to the football with every week, also came over. They brought an assortment of meat pies, sausage rolls and pasties - good football food. And my stepmum made a lemon drizzle cake. We didn't eat until after 2pm, so I ended up having a late dinner. I made DSO an egg, bacon, and avocado roll. I had pumpkin and caramelised onion ravioli (store bought) with a creamy pesto sauce.

And your Dad (?) built an actual haunted house every year !??!! WoW! Hahaha, not my dad. The only thing he really appreciated about Halloween was the mini chocolate bars. It was a neighbor that created a very intricate, kid friendly, haunted house every year in his front yard. Framing started in late August and he slowly worked on it up to the big night. Good to see you check in, Linda. tmarschall, I love the look of your glasses and a little disappointed they don't appear to carry any base frames with nose pads. What a simple, fun way to own multiple looks! Dinner is going to be grilled sausages and vegetables.

In keeping with the others I had a wonderful day. My quilting lesson was wonderful and I got lots of cutting practice. I need a different cutter and some off weight or baby blue fabric for sashing. Today was just fun. I mean tons of fun. Not like yesterday.
Dinner is smokies, tomatoes, cucumber, coleslaw and a small salad. It’s not glamorous but it will taste good.

My dinner was good. Labor intensive. I know dal is supposed to be thinner but I'm not a big fan of the mouth feel of mushy foods. So I cooked mine and served it al dente. Autocorrect wants that to be all dented. 😂 Herby rainbow carrot salad on the side.

ntsf I’m so sorry your sil is declining more scrappintoee that contraption for your dog was awesome. My cousin’s dog went blind so he bought upholstery foam and attached it to the walls. Woke up super early to travel. Santa Fe is different than we thought. Not bad though. I’m currently leaving a trail area that I came to for sunset while dh watches football 🤬 Dinner was a veggie and hummus wrap Coincidentally I watched Food Network on the plane and they mentioned that a little silken tofu can thicken soups. linda I’m glad you didn’t get too much damage but probably enough to be inconvenient
